Gaming Bloodborne (PS4)

Use the bell offline. I got some fancypants hunter and the fight was done in a matter of minutes.

I just used it online and some other player jumped in...he died within 15 seconds. Still finally managed to kill him but it cost me all my blood vials and pretty much most my antidotes.

Completely lost interest in this for some reason. Didn't even finish it but probably going to trade it in at CEX.

Bought this today. Man, it's a blast! I never played any of the souls games so I'm not used to the difficulty and complete lack of hand holding but I'm loving it. I kept dying on the first area for about 2 hours, but have downed two bosses now. Can only imagine how hard it will get later in the game.

Found a good 'farming' area, obviously depending on your level. Lecture Hall 2nd Floor (I think?), in one of the rooms there are loads of graduate monster things, and they're good for about 13,000 a pop. Lamp right nearby, too.

Ok guys, I've currently got the choice of going to Nightmare Frontier, Nightmare Mensis or Upper Cathedral Ward and am finding these stages a lot more difficult than before so am going to do some levelling. I've currently got 30 vitality, 33 endurance, 26 strength, 15 skill and 7 bloodtinge, arcane apiece and want to know the best way to build from here. I basically just want to pound stuff with my Ludwig blade and am only really interested in PvE.

Traded this in. Got a bit stale for me in the end I think. The lack of a story didn't help, it was just load the game up, kill some enemies, level up a bit, attempt a boss. Grind for a while, kill some more enemies, etc...

I am slowly but surely going through the chalice dungeons

Im on the defiled chalice now and over weekend finally beat the 1st boss in there. I have read the next boss is meant to be twice as hard so Im struggling to motivate myself to give it a shot

How bad is it going to be?

Aren't they all randomised the Chalice Dungeons? Put me off doing them, plus the rewards are terrible.

Nope only the root dungeons are random

There is also a proper way to go through the non randomised ones, and the reward will be a shiny Platinum trophy which is all I really want

Here's a video of me beating her/it.

Nah, I gave up trying to beat him. Tried the poisoned knives to no avail. No need to do it anyway, got the chalice from beating Amygdala.

And for anyone who's interested (no one) here's me beating the Watchdog of the Old Lords. Pretty easy once you get to grips with his attack pattern.

Here's me beating the bosses.

First video is the last boss in the defiled dungeon, you can cheese it, second video is the second boss. It's pretty easy once you get there attack patterns down.

To be honest, most games nowadays follow trend of: Cut scene intro, shoot shit for 10 minutes, another cut scene, stealth and stab shit, scripted checkpoint, shoot some more, and then the game ends within 4 hours, leaving you to dabble in the same dubstep zombie multiplayer nonsense.

Bloodborne feels heaps more refreshing in comparison, its dark atmosphere, punishing combat and non-linear gameplay reminds me of the old Casltevania games. I feel ashamed to have given the othe Souls game a miss.

On the boss in Old Yharnam now. Got him to 30% ish on my first try so should get him down easy enough.

I'm kind of afraid to use any of my items, like fire paper for example because everything is so hard to come by. I'd be kicking myself if I used items on a boss and died :D. I'm the same in most games when it comes to items. Almost every final fantasy game I'll be afraid to use any items you can't buy in a shop and end up finishing the game with them all still sitting in my inventory.

Still fecking loving this game though.

Kind of annoying when you get poisoned, and sloooowly try and get an antidote off while the boss is attacking relentlessly. That second of not being able to move just kills you.

Beat Bloodborne yesterday and I must say it is fantastic game. I agree with the Kotaku review that towards the end I feel like it got far too easy as compared to the beginning (I ended at level 101 though) but it wasnt enough to bother me and I enjoyed it most of the time. Its the best PS4 exclusive I've played and I will definitely be going for the platinum trophy once i'm back from my honeymoon. Overall I would recommend it to anyone who owns a ps4 and wants a fun challenging game to take on it will certainly be worth it.

Got to that area with all the witches and hags, battering them all, got overconfident, kept venturing forward, started to lose it, had no blood vials left, decided to make a run for it back to the lamp, fell off the bridge, lost all my blood echoes.

Just stared at the TV for about 10 minutes.
Bloody loading screens eh ;)

Just testing out the Share capture via Twitter and the Share capture via USB + imgur.

Anyone know the best image hosting site that deals with compression the best?

Completed! What a journey. Definitely the best game I have played in years, really enjoyed the final fight with Gherman as well.

My only critique of this game is the lack of story, but in a way I think that adds to the intrigue of the game. Your character is just as clueless as you are in a way.

I wasn't planning on playing through again but then I discovered the burial blade. I think the second play through is going to be more enjoyable than the first.

There is story/lore if you look for it I think.

There is also a boss after Gherman too if you got the umbilical cords

Can't beat Father Gasgoine :(

His first form is quite easy, his second form can be a pain if you don't have the right tactics. Just wait for him to swing at you, dodge and then get one or two hits in. Retreat and repeat. I know it always sounds easier than it is!

I was originally beating him with ease up until beast mode. Now I can't get that far every time. And my blood veils are no longer maxing back out to 20 each time. They were previously?

Your blood vials automatically replenish when you die from what you have in storage. If it's not replenishing back to 20 you need to go hunting for some. The area around the Cleric beast is good for picking them up.

Keep trying Woodzy I know you can do it.

Okay, that would explain why I seemed to be on 20 for ages then.

I just can't get anywhere when he's in beast mode. When i'm locked on I find it too hard to evade, and when i'm not I have no idea where he is/where I am.

Wooo. First try after the United game :D

...only had to use 12 blood veils.

Music box worked a treat. Waited till he got to beast form and used it. Wouldn't work a second time which almost got me killed but I somehow managed to evade his attacks a bit better than previously.
