How the feck are you supposed to take down that cnuting machine gunner on the roof?

Right now he has me pinned down in some building on all sides, and I have 10k echos on me :(

I've been around the area a few times. Nada.

The guy's a bastard.

You shouldn't take him on to be honest. After beating Blood-Starved Beast or Darkbeast Paarl, you can approach him from the back of Old Yarnham, then climb his castle without him having shot at you, and you can befriend him and get some items.

I beat the spider, now I'm deciding between the nightmare frontier, cainhurst castle or Yarghul Chapel. I'm level 52 now so in what order should I visit these areas?

They're all some of the hardest areas of the game so it doesn't really matter when you do what. Only Yarghul is story-related, though, so do the others first if you can.

Just beat the game! Quite proud to be honest, never thought I'd get through it after the first couple of hours. But in the end, it wasn't that bad. Bit of an anti-climatic end, though, Gehrman was a lot easier than some of the earlier bosses and the Moon Presence was a joke. And that fabled ending lasted, what, 20 seconds? I do get the feeling they made the story exceptionally cryptic because they didn't really know what it was all supposed to mean either. Make it cryptic enough and someone will come with a clever interpretation that makes you feel clever.

Awesome game, though. Will probably keep going for a while with NG+ or Chalices.

Right at the end now. Had a go at the boss at the end of Mergos loft. He beat me but he doesn't seem too bad

Every optional area done. Will be sad when it's over, really enjoyed the game

I think I liked it better than dark souls. The atmosphere, gothic look and some of the enemy design are really amazing

Bought this on Wednesday, had a mess around with it, initially got my arse handed to me but slowly improved as I went.

Got to Cleric beast and died after getting him to 50% health (although missed the downstairs in the house where you open the shortcut gate). Found out I could now upgrade so killed all the guys up to the point of the ogre bashing the door, had about 2K blood echoes and went back and upgraded vitality and strength.

Went back to fight my way through again and suddenly the enemies were tougher, the beasts that were taking 3 hits with the saw cleaver were taking 4 and 5 hits. I know the difficulty increases but this was a noticable change from when I upgraded.

My lamp in the forbidden forest is lighten up, but it wont let me travel back there after going to the dream world, is that normal? It's not really a huge problem as getting there is fairly quick from the old cathedral but it's just a pain in the ass.

Just climbed up and shot him 4 times and watched him amusingly fall off the edge to his death. Feck him, after all that grief I don't want to be his friend, now I can explore the area and kill beasts in peace without this prick lighting me up wherever I go.

Does he come back if you die?

So what's the deal with the riposte attack - does it work on all enemies?

I'm having mixed results with it, it doesn't seem to stun those huge miley cyrus wrecking ball giants in the Cathedral Ward/Old Yharnam.

It's pretty much hit and hope. I thought since you can riposte the Cleric Beast, you could riposte every enemy in the game but as said, those wrecking ball giants seem immune to it.

All standard enemies can be riposted, I'm not sure about all the bosses but some of them certainly can be. It's definitely not hit and hope, it's all about timing. Enemies will have a tell and it will stagger them if you time your shot right. Usually it's just before they swing for you.

Yeah, it's all about timing but I meant it's hit and hope as in you don't know what enemies you can riposte until you hit them mid-attack and see if it works.

The Undead Giant, for instance, in the Chalice Dungeons. His attacks are easy to spot and it's easy to hit him with a bullet mid-attack but he can't be riposted, which I found out the hard way.

Beat Amygdala at the Nightmare Frontier and OMFG I hated that world it scared the crap out of me for some reason. The enemy design the death by boulders the swamps but nothing beats the brain lady holy shit I do not ever want to see that thing again. On to Yarghul Cathedral I reached the part where there are three hunters all in the same spot and I need to figure out a way to beat them. I'm thinking hit and run for now try and kill at least one at a time.

Finished my first playthrough last night, I actually got quite bored of it by the end so despite taking on amygdala, martyr and ebreitas once or twice each I never bothered to see them through . Beat cleric first attempt on NG+ but don't feel like carrying on. It's a great game but I doubt I'll go through it again, gonna play some dungeons instead as I've only done a couple of the easy ones

Used my ps plus online back up and managed to see all three endings. I had to beat Gehrman twice. He was pretty easy I thought

The very last boss gave me more trouble but I had heard he was easier

Anyway I only need three more trophies, I believe they are all related to the chalice dungeons. Making these chalices confuse the hell out of me. Is there different types of blood rituals?
.

Funny as I had the opposite. Gehrmann took me a fair few tries but moonboy fell at the first

I never thought to export my save, shame as I doubt I'll see the other endings now

Yeah I'm terrible at this game.

Always getting the Blood starved beast down to about 30% until he goes batshit insane with his swipe combo and ends me :(

Can that be done via USB? Because I only need three more trophies for the plat, umbilical cords ending and refuse fight ending + the main boss in the chalice dungeons.

@bosnian_red @Ekeke would any of ye lads be up for helping me out against the Abhorrent Beast sometime?

I would but haven't gotten that far with the dungeons! Made a second character build so have mostly been working on that instead of the chalices.

I watched a video online where the guy stands infront of the dog and when he is about to melee with his head he sort of shakes his head to 1 side, at that point he tries to hit you dodge to the left an then attack him once with an L2 attack, then quickly move away again before he AOE attacks you. It's really about being patient and moving away to the correct point but it is very difficult. I imagined it on my 3/4th go in the end after watching the video. (used lots of vials)

Abhorrent Beast is this electrical werewolf thing. You're thinking of the Watchdog.

He's a cnut alright. I can't beat him either, so you're not alone. Might call on help with the bell thing..

You you can do it with a USB key or use your online storage you get with ps plus.

I got to see all three endings.

My only trophies I need to get are one final weapon and gem which are both in chalice dungeons and the boss at the end of them.

I made a start and I'm onto the 3rd dungeon. Met Rom the spider and gave up for now

Cool, thanks.

Doing shit I don't even have to do. Have the Defiled Chalice, have all the ingredients. Also have all the ingredients from the chalice you get out of here.

Did you beat him yet? You can actually cheese him to death with poison knives since he's vulnerable to them (takes about 15-17 poison knives and he'll be dead). If I wasn't so over leveled I would have definitely used that tactic when I fought him.

The only boss that gave me a really hard time out of all the chalice dungeon bosses was Amygdala in the defiled chalice. She's piss easy to beat by facing her back and hitting a charged attack. Unfortunately, 1 mistake and you're dead. Took me about an hour to beat her. Even Ebrietas in the Great Isz chalice didn't give me a problem although she's a much harder boss.

Honestly, having completed almost all of the chalice dungeons, I think they're a bit of a disappointment. Yes, you can farm some pretty good items and the bosses are way harder than the in game bosses but the dungeon layers become so tedious once you've familiarized yourself with them. I think it would have been better if they would have added like 5 or 6 areas to the game with the same difficulty and same chance of getting rare items rather than having the chalice dungeons themselves.

Screw Defiled Layer 3 Amygdala. Screw it.

Here's a video of me beating her/it.

Nah, I gave up trying to beat him. Tried the poisoned knives to no avail. No need to do it anyway, got the chalice from beating Amygdala.

And for anyone who's interested (no one) here's me beating the Watchdog of the Old Lords. Pretty easy once you get to grips with his attack pattern.

Reading up on what I need to do to get these final trophies. Im not sure I can be arsed.

Also Im level 100 exactly which seems to be fairly low for some of these dungeons.

I could farm but that would involve getting into new game plus. Which Im not sure I want to do either. I only barely beat the Cleric beast. The difficulty surely did ramp up

Use the bell offline. I got some fancypants hunter and the fight was done in a matter of minutes.

Got to that area with all the witches and hags, battering them all, got overconfident, kept venturing forward, started to lose it, had no blood vials left, decided to make a run for it back to the lamp, fell off the bridge, lost all my blood echoes.

Just stared at the TV for about 10 minutes.

I did it. God damn, I did it!
