Down to four bosses left now, Ebrietas, Logarius, Gehrman and the Moon Presence. Trying to do the first two before completing the game but they're causing me a lot of headache.
Anyway, some questions about the ending(s) and how to get them:
So I know there are three endings, one if you accept the Gehrman's offer and let him kill you, one if you refuse and kill him and a third one if you refuse and kill him after having consumed three Umbilical Chords.
I've not that. Is it possible to see all three endings in the same playthrough? Like, will I return to the Hunter's Dream and be able to take Gehrman on again if I let him kill me? Or will I have to see the other endings in other playthroughs? Thanks.
Yeah, it's a trick item I found in the Nightmare Frontier. Works great in PvP matches. You do know that there is a fountain behind the house in HD where you can change what the messengers wear, yeah?
Logarius down! He wasn't that tough, I had leveled up quite a bit since the first time I faced him.
Ebrietas is still wiping the floor with me, though. I got reasonably close one time but other times I die in a few seconds. Usually I clear about two thirds of his health before dying. Tried ringing the bell but no-one answered. He's really brutal. If Gehrman is tougher than him, I may never beat this game. I'm still close enough with Ebrietas to feel like I can take him eventually, though.

Ohh, so that's a trick item? I thought that was the same messenger hat you find in the abandoned old shop which you gave to the messengers (I seem to have lost it in NG+ for some reason). I'm going to go search nightmare frontier for it cause that's hilarious.
As someone who doesn't have ps plus (or the console online even atm), what does insight mean and do? I know you can use it to summon other players, but obviously that's not an option for me. Is it important in any other ways?

If you have more insight, enemies can have more varied movesets. They won't have more HP though.
The more insight you have, the less frenzy resistance you have.
Also, with more insight, apparently you can see the game world for how it truly is. You see and hear freakier shit. That sounds vague but I'm wary of spoiling anything.

Cheers for the discretion on spoilers, I'm trying hard to avoid them since at my current rate I'll beat the game sometime in 2018. What is frenzy and why do I want to resist it?
Thematically, 100% yes. All depends on how you like the combat, it can be brutal (in a good sense) and unforgiving most of the time. Personally, it's one of the best games I've ever played.

It's kind of like poison. It's usually caused by enemies and will charge up while you have the chance to stop it with a sedative. Once it fully charges, it will wipe away most, if not all, of your health in one go.
Probably did then. I wouldn't say he was tough but certainly not easy either. His vomit cause me some trouble.
I finally managed to kill Ebrietas, woohoo. Found the Blood Rock and killed the Mother Brain too. Not much left now besides finishing the game I believe. I haven't followed Alfred through but after joining the Vilebloods I suppose I've basically cancelled his quest line?
I think I stumbled across a boss when I went exploring around the Unseen Prison Area, I went through some tunnel then saw some big black creature sitting across the way, but I chickened out and beat a pretty nopey retreat. This was before I beat Rom and ventured into the other part of the 'unseen' area where the lamp and the respawning enemies are. I might go back there and have a better look around or have a go at him seeing I lost all my blood echoes anyway.
It was actually awesome against him, I had alot of blood shards & Twin Blood shards to level it up though but on my first go I took so much energy off him in the 1st phase he skipped the 2nd phase and went straight to the third, then I got too cocky and the spiders got me beat him on the next go though.
Managed to kill the guy on the tower with the machine gun on my 3rd attempt, realised that he doesn't notice you quickly if you climb up the ladder first and blast him with the shotgun straight away, managed to shoot him off the roof without even swinging a weapon easiest fight ever.

Beat Eileen the Crow last night, I'd mucked up her side quests somehow but I came across her lurking about the Grand Cathedral and she attacked when I approached her. Even though I died a good lot of times trying it was actually a pretty enjoyable battle trying to out-manoeuvre her and trying different weapons. I found Ludwig's sword unsheathed was the best, you need plenty of stamina to dodge her and still have enough to get a series of blows in to get the best of her so its quick hits didnt drain it too much but still had the power to interrupt her attack pattern.
I enjoyed it, but overall I still think Dark Souls is a far superior game.
I've mentioned a few times in this thread my issues with the bosses, and that is just compounded by the final fight (or one of the ones depending on your ending). I don't feel preceding fights prepare you for that final encounter.
I will probably strive to get the other two endings but I might have a break from it now, plus it's made me want to have another run through Souls.

The ng+ is a lot more difficult then the normal game, which I didn't find too challenging really. Or that is, it would probably get really hard later on as well if you don't want to keep levelling up so you can stay in the summoning bounds with the majority.

Yeah I've noticed the enemies seem a lot more difficult. I'm planning on using a completely different weapon in NG+. Just bought the wheel and blades of mercy.

Yeah, that's what I meant, they hit a lot harder and get a lot more health. The move set only changes after 15 insight I think, and I pretty much always have like 40+
I beat the spider, now I'm deciding between the nightmare frontier, cainhurst castle or Yarghul Chapel. I'm level 52 now so in what order should I visit these areas?

The bosses dont change, normal enemies do. Yeah 14 insight
Basically in the souls games, you'd go into NG+ and a boss might have 2 minions spawn at 50%, or theres 2 of the boss instead of 1, or the boss has a new move that makes the fight tougher etc. and that can keep the NG playthroughs fresh.

Yeah, that was my biggest disappointment for ng+.. There's virtually no point in doing it since you don't get any different challenges. Like no red phantoms from Dark Souls 2, or like that lost sinner fight where you had 2 pyromancers join the fight. Don't remember how the demon's souls ng+ was though, haven't played it in a long time and this was meant to be more like that then Dark Souls I think. Or made by the same people at least.
