Gaming Bloodborne (PS4)

Just beat Vicar Amelia first time and beat it with a blunderbuss shot as well!! I ran in to test out the fight and wanted to use my Ludwig blade but struggled to start with and ended up using 3 vials in the first 15 secs. I switched to my saw cleaver and just tried to get underneath it, take a few hits and then roll round the back and finish the combo before backing off. Playing aggressively as well helped in the latter stages especially when he started to heal. I had to finish him off with the blunderbuss because neither of us had much health left and was definitely not going to take a risk by going for the throat.

Not sure on where to go now but I know there is a path to the left of the cathedral and some hunters to the right which I may tackle next.

Also, did anyone drop back before facing Vicar Amelia for the first time?? If you get close but not so much to activate the cut scene then you can hear her prayer which is kinda cool.

Depends on your weapon, but I'd focus on whichever stat has best scaling on the weapon you want to use. And then pump your vitality if you want to live through 2 hits in pvp

For 110 meta you'd want around 50 vit and 50 str/agi/arc (whichever is your main stat)

Ludwig's Holy Blade +9, phys attack 190 +254 attribute bonus str B, skill B, arcane, B.

What does "for 110 meta" mean?

A bunch of the popular twitch streamers for the souls series got together and decided that they are going to level their characters to 110. So all their viewers are going to do the same and pvp at that level. So its likely to be the most abundant level for invasion/pvping in the future

If you dont care about pvping with your character in the future you can ignore it

Lol the first enemy killed me now I'm stuck in a garden

First enemy is expected to kill you. The garden is called Hunters Dream, you return here using the lamp you start at and can upgrade your stats using blood echoes that you gain from killing enemies. You can also purchase things from the little skeleton men in the fountain using blood echoes.

What's this hand arrow thing that's just appeared on my HUD?

What's going on with the Witch Of Hemwick?

I killed it and then there was another health bar and it appeared again, and then the original health bar I'd depleted went back up a bit. I killed the second one and then another of it did some spell on me so I couldn't move, and then came up behind me and just stabbed me til I died.

There's two of them, try taking out the one who's health bar isn't on the screen. You'll know which is which if said health bar doesn't go down when you hit either one.

I died first time round, same reason, but I did the above and it was a lot easier.

Can I expect a boss when you leave?

I'm carrying a lot of echoes so might head back to level up first.

Got kindnapped to that prison place and gave up

If/when I clear this place do I go back every time I get killed by one of those things?

I just went up to the lamp and left that area when I got kidnapped. The enemies are really strong.

Anyone else been to the lecture theatre?
A small tip for people who've been to the first floor of the lecture building as its a great place to farm echoes.

There are 2 rooms with enemies. One room has only one enemy and another room has like 15 enemies. Killing the large group of enemies nets about 13-15k every run. Once you've killed that group of enemies go to the room which has only one enemy and die to it. When you revive go grab your echoes and repeat the process. The enemies are piss easy if you've upgraded your weapon decently.

Question for those who have beat the game or have gotten far in it??

I have ventured to the Tomb of Odeon in order to fight the mad hunter alongside Eilene the Crow hunter. Basically I vastly underestimated the hunter I was facing and he took me out comfortably, but he also took out Eilene as well. In the end after a gruelling battle I beat the hunter but obviously Eilene doesn't respawn. I am aware that she may help later in a difficult fight or may go after you so am I screwed or am I ok??

Those things affect the story in most cases. Souls was the same. It'll probably mean you won't get an item or something.

I think she's dead man

Just took a look and it seems okay.
I miss out on joining her covenant which allows you to invade without bell or something. I also don't get a useful rune. Nothing too bad, but would have liked that rune.

WHAT THE feck I just realised you can sprint?!

Solius, please. :lol::lol:

Between this and GTA. And yeah, those blue Aliens are creepy little bastards!

Anyways;

I finally beat the Upper Cathedral Ward! Those Wolfs scared the fcuk out of me, and those brain suckers nicked 10 insight on me too! The Celestial Emissary wasn't hard, just annoying, kept getting lasered to death, Embrietas was a whole other ball game, finally called for help, was a breeze. Without the beckoning bell I'd be fcuked.

Saved just outside Cainhurst Castle, will tackle that tomorrow. Mos def one of the best games I've ever played.

Yeah, if you pick up her drop from her body you can buy her blades of mercy and armor, the blades is the main part of the quest line anyway. The rune is stamina recovery speed up, so it's useful, but it's not vital, and you find a better covenant runs later anyways.

I've fallen into my usual soul's trap of just wandering around and not actually progressing. I'm levelling quite steadily but I've jumped round the levels so much I'm not actually sure where I'm supposed to go now.

I spent an hour wandering around the forbidden woods and kept ending up in the same place! Just opened cainhurst but I'm guessing I'm too low level as those spiders are feckers

Thanks for this! Makes it so much easier buy shit.

ffs been watching YouTube videos and just realised I missed a boss

My plan ro hammer this over bank holiday didn't go so well. The one time I managed to play I had to turn it off and after playing it a little yesterday I sliced my thumb open so I couldn't hold the controller properly. I'm hoping to play tonight but I'm assuming I'll get run over on my way home or something.

Took me a while as well, you can use it to climb and descend ladders too. I hated ladders before learning the sprint command.

I just beat Shadow of Yharnam, they weren't that bad. Now, as for the shortcut:

Is there any particular time to go kill Iosefka and the cannibal I sent there? Read about some runes and Third Umbilical Cord.

There's no free roaming after beating the game? That seems silly.

You can do the "third ending" and beat the normal end boss, then hunters mark out when the next one comes out. Thats what I did after getting that boss to 5% just to experience the fight
