Gaming Bloodborne (PS4)

Take a stroll around the Nightmare Frontier.

I called for help against those witches in The Forbidden Woods, dude dies STRAIGHT AWAY. Thankfully it was pretty easy second time round and I got my 40k echoes back.

Just quoting my post, right, so after killing the witches, the getting the tool that allows you to equip Carryl runes, I've noticed it's night time now, which has made the game even more scary, but, seeing as Ludwig's Holy Blade is beastly when upgraded, I've been just running around the Forbidden Forest killing everything.

Where the heck do I go now?

Have you fought the boss in the Forbidden Woods? That place is a fecking maze but if you've encountered one of the giant pigs in a pool of water, you're on the right track.

I dropped shiny coins as waymarkers but then again, I'm shite with direction in games.

The only boss(es) I fought were those little Witches. I've been running around looking for other ways but can't find a thing. Now I'm trying to find a tonsil stone to enter some secret area. :wenger:

Forbidden Woods is where you should be heading next. It's a bit tricky to find; I had to look it up.

What I thought was in the Forbidden Woods it was Hemwick Grove(?). I found where I should be going, was near those two giants with axes, thankfully they were asleep.

So while the main story/mandatory content isnt as long as other souls games, having done all the optional stuff and a bit of the chalice dungeons - these 2 things give you a lot of extra content, they give you good items, are challenging, etc. I'm thinking they should have made most of the optional places/bosses and one or two chalice dungeons mandatory to complete the game

Mother of God, the forbidden woods can suck a fat one. Was near this village place, and out of nowhere a fcuking canon shot, left me with a sliver of health, in my panick I ran for shelter, and what do you know, two absolute cnuts standing there, one of them murdered me with a rake, lost 55k echoes.

Thankfully I bombed it back to that location, found my echoes, ran into these creepy tentacle heads from Resident Evil and found a shortcut back to the lamp!

:D

So happy I bought this game, they hype drew me in, and shizz, it has been worth it. I can confidently say it's one of the best games I've ever played.

You need to start using your echoes more often. The Woods are a maze and the enemies seem to get progressively more difficult the deeper you go. You don't want to be dropping large amounts in the woods because you'll either not find your way back or get killed easily.

That feeling when you started out with 90 blood vials and now you're down to 22 and still havent beaten Abhorrant Beast

Those Aliens can suck a dick.

I'm done for the day, my mild headache is turning into a migraine now.

Phew, prey slaughtered. Lower Loran Chalice acquired, Abhorrant Beast silenced

Think he was my toughest challenge yet

Playing this with a hangover. Probably not a good idea.

PSA: If you ever come across a spider with a human face, don't immediately start slashing away before it gets a chance to talk.

P.S Me and two other dudes rekt the Shadow thingy, well, there were three shadow thingies. Thankfully the guy knew where it was cause I had no clue.

Nearly killed the blood starved beast on my first try.

I had to stop playing last night, just could'nt beat vicar amelia. I was making decent progress getting her life down a bit more each time with my best effort getting her down to about 1/4 but then the next two tries not even gettin 1/4 of it away so that signalled a timeout would be for the best, I'd managed to retrieve my blood echoes each time though so they were stacking up and ended up with 55,000 to spend on levelling up. I was getting 5,000 each time from killling the enemies on the way to her so I must've tried her about 8 or 9 times. ill be back later to kick her arse.

Numbing mist + calling on help was how I beat her. :3

Anyway, for the people who got to the Nightmare Frontier, what in the world is this weird thing with a globe for a head that sings and causes frenzy!?

I'm glad I couldn't kill the final boss yesterday as I missed large parts of the game. There were three areas I hadn't even been to and two bosses I hadn't fought. If I complete it can I come back to the game when I kill the last boss or is that the end? I haven't done any of the chalice dungeons either will I be able to play those?

I think I have some numbing mist too, there were a few times where I probably would have beat her if I had used it when she heals herself. Ill try that out then if no avail ill ring the bell and see if two of us can beat her.

Its death

It's horrible. :(

Anyway, I found a run that gives me +200 Frenzy, plus the Ashen Hunter outfit, she, or it, was a breeze. Looking at all the ghosts and spectres dying was funny though. Made it to Amygalada(?) and died.

Will call upon help should I find it too hard.

What's everyone's favourite armour sets? I've yet to find anything better than my Gascoigne set.

Along with the Blood Starved Beast I found Vicar Ameila really easy.

I just stayed close to her and dodged out the way of her attacks. Being so close means you have a bit of leeway with your dodges. You can target body parts, so taking out her legs will make her fall down and give you some time to beat her down or move round to her head and hit visceral attacks.

I went after her relentlessly hitting her as much as I could, so much so I didn't even know she could regen until someone posted it in here.

Unlike with Souls I'm finding bosses will fall if you are aggressive towards them and take the fight to them. The two early bosses were the ones I struggled with because I was being patient because that's how I'd played Souls.

I'm assuming the boss is somewhere behind him, but I cannot to get past the aliens that shoot those beams.

Dark souls 2 is supposed to the the easiest in the series. Is the easier or harder? Hoping they haven't watered down the experience at all.

There are just items in that alley. You take another route further down to find the boss. Where the pig walks.

Nah, there isnt much that way unless you are an arcane build as the alien guys give good gems and theres maybe a spell or something that way. Its not towards the bosses

I tend to wear* a mixture of what I think looks cool rather than what is the best.
I like the charred hunter cape its so pretty

Gascoigne set is the best I've found/bought. That outfit plus the Black Church Hat I found haven't being beaten. I'm about 60% of the way through.

Could some tell me if you the chalice dungeons have exclusive weapons/outfits and what level is the perfect time to start them? I'm still confused by the headstones. I can activate them all, but don't know where to start.

Well I've wasted a few hours and endless echoes trying to get past those bastards. So am I going left or right when I reach the Pig in the water?

I can't wait to get out of the woods. It's such a pain to navigate and enemies are hard. Getting flanked by two poison spitting Hydras is never fun.

I'm still using the set you find in the sewers. There aren't many armour sets I've come across and the differences between them seem negligible. Although I am now sporting a rather spiffing top hat.

Hah thats pretty much my approach, ive found better hats than the feathered hunter hat but they just dont look half as cool.

So I died and ended up in the Unseen Village, why did that happen?

Also I can't seem to get back there after returning to Hunters Dream.

There are different tombstones to transport you to different areas. They line the side of the steps to the house. Messengers will appear out of them when you can use that tombstone to fast travel.
