Gaming Bloodborne (PS4)

I managed to shoot him off the roof, when I went down the item he dropped was glitched out of bounds so I had to do it again. Was such a pain.

Ah, if anything like that happens and a boss or npc's loot is unretrievable, dying or reloading should make it appear where they were originally standing. Its normally hard to get his loot so I just kill him and relog or tp

F*ck this. When he goes beast mode it's ridiculous. Once you dodge all the shitting combos you're too far away to attack him, and when you go to attack him he just starts another combo again.

Bomb him with Molotov Cocktails when he stops. He's vulnerable to fire.

I panicked and threw most I had without locking on. I rage quit and can't be bothered to load it back up. Will try tomorrow.

My tactic for beating Gascoigne:

I use the long version of the Hunter's Axe exclusively. The extra range helps so much because you can attack from further out and still make contact.

Feck the Tiny Music Box. It's not necessary at all. When I used it he just rushed into Beast Form with about 50% health left, whereas I can get him below 30% by going for him normally. I tried blocking him with tombstones in his first human form, but rolling away as much as possible and getting behind him for a few cheap hits is just as effective. When he goes for the long axe he takes longer to recover from attacks, so get in quickly and hit him a couple of times, then roll away so he can't retaliate.

As soon as he switches to Beast Form I keep him in sight by targeting him and roll backwards and sideways as much as possible, because it's more important to not get hit than try to attack, because of the damage he deals. When he finishes a big attack, quickly hit him with a Molotov, which stuns him for a short moment so you can go for a couple of direct hits. That should deal massive damage. Do the molotov/strike combo two or three times and he should go down.

I managed it on my sixth or seventh attempt, but only really cottoned on to using molotovs on the last attempt, which was the game-changer for me. Only had to use two blood vials to bring him down.

His human form is easy so don't use the music bix during that stage, as he is transforming step back and use it. Once he transforms he will hold is head like he does in human form. If you do that you can lay into him and then finish him off with Molotovs it's really easy.

This is an incredible game. Upto Father Gascoigne but I've tried and failed twice. The first few hours I spent on this I didn't have a clue what I was doing. Figuring out how to equip weapons took me an age.

Great fun, though.

You're not supposed to use the music box on him when he's in human form. If you use when he's beast form, he'll start howling and holding his head giving you 5-8 seconds to attack him freely.

No, not at all. What's the point of having a forum anyway if we are just going to shoot down whoever asks for help. I always watch videos on how to do stuff in this game anyway, how else would I have found that incredibly 'creative' way of beating Gascoine. I'm not great at games like this (I live by work is for frustration, games for relaxation) so any help I can get I will take.

Thanks man I just beat him, it was a combination of a lot of blood vials (12 I believe), keeping distance in the first two phases utilizing the tombstones and molotoving the shit out of him in beast mode. On to the next challenge!

Gascoigne :

A great boss to practice parries on, anytime he rolls or lunges give him a bullet to the face. Same with when he turns into a beast, one parry should take him to a tiny percent. Also if you have any of the pungent blood cocktails im fairly sure they'll work on his beast form, luring him to them

And stay dead you motherf*cker.

Great job! You will soon be onto Old Yarnham where the fun really starts. It's painful and hilarious in a 'you've got to be kidding me' kind of way.

Gave him three shots. My 1st I was so close and then the next two times were terrible efforts and I raged quit

Yeah I was same. First try I was so close and the next two attempts were absolutely shocking. I just
stocked up on health vials and molotovs. Chuck them all at him to begin with and get the odd hit in and he'll be nearly down to the beast mode. Once he turns into that play the music box and he'll hold his head giving you a good 5 seconds to get hits in. Then you should have plenty of health vials to stay alive and gradually get the hits on him to finish him.

In case you lot don't know... Throw oil urns at the feckers before throwing molotov's at them. Does twice as much damage.

Just seen the giant bloke with an axe right after the Cathedral. Noped out of there straight away. Think I'll carry on tomorrow.

EDIT: Oh actually, had a quick go and he was piss easy to kill, just rolled through his legs.

hmm thats the area Im in, are you supposed to take out the Tower gunner before or after the Blood Starved Beast or does it not really matter?

That feckin hooded Demon thats hidden in Old Yarnham beside one of the big wolf creatures in a foggy alley scared the shite out of me last night, was sizing up the wolf gettin ready to attack then all you hear is that piercing shreik booming through my headphones. cnut :D

Turns out it does matter, don't try to take out the Gunner Hunter first he'll simply kick your arse.

I got fecking mind fecked by a big sack carrying ghoul then sent to some prison last night, managed to find a lantern and escape though, I had a cunning strategy of whenever I saw one of those sack demons I went "nope nope nope.." and ran a different way.

You can take him out by knocking him off the tower. I just rushed him and shot him off. He's probably nearly impossible to beat fairly at that stage though. I also heard you can opt to not kill him and at a later stage in the game he becomes friendly. IDK how true that is though.

I don't have to be up super early tomorrow so I'm planning on hammering this tonight. I'm still unsure where I'm supposed to go. Last major thing I did was beat Blood Starved beast and then taken to the Unseen Village.

I spent last night running around the Cathedral but I couldn't find any new areas apart from the door that opens after you beat the beast.

At a similar stage in Souls I had the same issue where I didn't know where to go for ages.

I pretty much did the same thing as you with beating the beast then getting sent to that Unseen village, the next part I went to was in the Cathedral ward where from the lantern you run forward a bit and then through a door to the right, there's some wheelchair men with machine guns and one of the Hammer giants running about a tower ledge, the twat kept knocking me off and I think I lost a decent amount of blood echoes so I called it a day, gonna go back there and kick his ass later on and take it from there.

Maaaaaan... I'm too poor to buy this game... in addition, I kind of feel like I want to go through Dark Souls 2 before I start this one, but this thread makes me want to dive in ASAP.

Not to mention that I really want to do a second playthrough of Dark Souls.

Ha! Strange times, still can beat those big brick feckers without firing a pair of Molotovs at them, but I decided I'd go for the Cleric Beast, take a kicking and I could finally grind a bit with the Insight.

Nope, tore the Beast up first go, handily.....

Now I can grind a bit and make up for my awful choice of past. Why I thought one with low HP would be good? Who knows....

Oh, any handy place to grind for Molotovs?

They seem more random on their drops. But I feel I get more from hunters.

We'll have to compare notes of were at the same stage. I've barley played this week because I've been doing mad hours at work so hoping to make some real head way over the bank holiday.

I found a mini-version of Blighttown.

The water is poison, there's three giants roaming around and there's also poison worms hidden in the water. Shithole.

There's a ladder that leads to an interesting place, what can happen there depends on how far through the game you are. But there's a gate you can open to come back later far more easily, if your world isnt ready yet

Question for anyone who has gotten to Yahar'gul Chapel -

How the feck do you kill those three hunters who come at you all at once? Is it even worth killing them? The hunter in the cathedral at the end of the Eileen Crow storyline is kicking my ass as well. Any suggestions?

they have one or two runes, but im pretty sure you can just run past them. Personally I drew them out till they deaggrod and just kept trying to isolate and kill one at a time

What I did was sprint downstairs where there was another tough enemy but lock myself in the cage and then wait for them to crowd and use the spinning attack with the hunter axe  Took a while but got them eventually. Hard as feck to kill them fairly on a 3 on 1.

There's a way to cheese the hunter at the end of the Eileen storyline, might be fixed though. Get him to run at you, when he starts coming move back to the stairs, he should change to the transformed version of his weapon which slowly takes health away and you can just move to the bottom of the stairs and he never changes back to the normal weapon. Probably got fixed but worth a try if you can't beat him normally.

Yeah I saw that. All the comments are saying it's been fixed though so unlikely. Guess I need to pump up my health since his one bullet seems to cost me half my life. It's a shame I'll be close to the end before I finally get my hands on the weapon though.

So Vicar Amelia can fcuk right off. Not only that, but I went to the right of the cathedral she's in, killed the two Hunters, went through a tunnel, and then these two big fecks mauled me, loaded up, went back, killed them, went into this big circular hall, went to the door, tried opening it, "closed", then this GIGANTIC GHOST grabs me, and squeezes me to death!?

Man, I'm level 40 and the game seems to be getting harder and harder.

Is anyone able to get online? Won't let me, right when I choose online is says offline right away.

I beat him pretty easily just looking for parries. I'd read he was a really hard fight so I was expecting a lot more

How the feck do you avoid her ground pound attack?

First attempt I got her down to less than a quarter of her life and then she did two ground pounds in quick succession and I died.

So far tonight I've lost over 40000 blood echoes. That would have been about 3 levels.
