Gaming Bloodborne (PS4)

Beat the Cedric Beast on my first attempt, with a little help from the beckoning bell, the guy was a beast and the fight was epic. Amazing game.

Sewers here I come. :nervous:

So I'm about 10 minutes in. It's normal to not know what you're doing or where you're supposed to be going, right?

Finished Eileen the Crow's quest, wrecked the final guy with parries. Dont have 40k blood yet for blade of mercy though

For 90% of the game it'll be the same

You'll get the most vague idea of whats going on and get an idea of where you're going based on when you open up shortcuts/gates that will make it faster progress

Yep. You'll learn the ropes eventually through by putting in a lot of frustrating, but fun hours.

First boss is kicking my ass, I find myself panicking and dodging too much I think. Really love the game and I haven't played a Dark Souls title before so the difficulty really is on another level.

At the very last boss (optional part that you need to do a sidequest for), just beat the main guy. Tough but some of the earlier bosses were harder imo. Great game though.

Love using the blades, they're fast as hell and especially useful if you level up skill and obviously upgrading the weapon itself.

I killed the weird creature on the floor in the cathedral, am I fcuked? I didn't know you could talk to him, he startled me. I also sent the woman near the sewers and Viola and Gazza's kid to Iosef's clinic ..... Also, is the hunter in the church at Old Yarnham worth co-operating with?

Nah it doesn't have anything to do with the story, they just give you like certain health vials/sedatives and you maybe get gems maybe. Nothing too bad. And yeah, the hunter there is part of the way you get into one of the covenants later on.

Im levelling skill and arcane especially for the weapon as it scales with both

Killed 2 bosses yet still can't kill the axe guys O.O

One thing you can do is be a parry merchant. The axe ones are a bit trickier than most of the giants, but they will eventually do one slow attack thats easy to parry - i forget if its the spin or the guilotine chop. So just wait at a range you can dodge their attacks, ready to parry and keep dodging the attacks till they do the slow one you can parry. All the giants seem very prone to parries

Just beat the game :D Didn't do the chalice dungeons and that doesn't reset when you start ng+ so just went ahead and beat the last guy... The weapon you get from killing the last boss is awesome though.

Don't think I've ever played a game throughout the days as much as I have this past week though, so addicting.

How many hours do you reckon you clocked dude?

You can see when you hit load game... 47 hours though :nervous: Keep in mind I got the game on tuesday! Averages out to like 7.5 hours a day, been a productive week clearly

So I came close to picking this up on the way to work but pussied out, might garner the balls to buy it on the way home

Had a few goes at Father Gascoigne last night, managed to get him to turn into Beast form both times, the second time I swear one more hit would have killed him but the amount I had to dodge his attacks meant my stamina was fecked.

That motherfecker in the tower with the gatling gun killed me with 12k blood echoes, then the second time I fell off the tower. Then I stumbled upon the blood demon, spammed it with molotovs before it killed me. Looks like I need to farm again. :(

Just take your time. Old Yharnam is a good place to farm once you open the shortcut. I find that area much easier than Central Yharnam.

I also found the Blood starved demon really easy but seems to be the boss most people have issues with early on.

I've probably lost around 100k echoes in the Forbidden Woods. I get lost easily and there's so much shit to kill.

Just beat the boss in Forbidden Woods. My god that was intense. It's a freaking maze of a place and I had gone so far & racked up so many echoes I would have gone insane if I died. Very hard I just scraped it but easily could have died.
found in the final phase you have to just attack the last dude like crazy to stop him summoning giant snakes. Was so close to dieing

So I believe the current record for speedruns is :

Any% (means just get to the credits screen/finish game as fast as possible, using glitches if you want to) = 35.26 minutes by Irey_tv. He uses the duplication glitch mentioned in this thread

Any% Glitchless = 1 hour 44 mins 17 seconds by tomokochi. As it sounds, he does it without glitches

My personal favourite speedrunner Elajjaz is currently doing an All bosses run

After a 2-day infection that made me unable to play it properly I got back to it today. Level 19, think I will go to the sewers. Is there any shortcut that doesn't require me to go past wolves and bonfire with lots of enemies?

Regarding the unseen village

Am I the only one who finds this place insanely hard? I have no idea how I ended up there in the first place.

There's a few ways, beat spider or die to the guys with sacks

Rom is somehow involved in keeping people from seeing the unseen village/etc. I remember a note near the beginning somewhere that said the spider in bygernwerth is conducting rituals keeping them from seeing their master. Killing him brings an end to whatever was going on and then I guess all can be seen

The sack guys will kidnap you and throw you in the prison in the unseen village. Why? I'm not sure. Why is the door open?

But inside those sacks...
I believe its been revealed that inside the sacks are babies. In other notes it has been found that the old ones (or was it great ones?) long for babies as they remind them of the infant children they have all lost. So something to do with the process of becoming a great/old one means they must sacrifice their child

I've killed everything from the first section except for that big thing banging on the door. He chased me and I hid and now I'm terrified of dying and having to do it again.

Not got a clue what the hell is going on. I'm just running round nearly dying and going from some place to another place until something kills me. What exactly am I supposed to be doing?

You keep moving forward and looking for where to go, you unlock shortcuts along the way, and eventually you'll reach a boss for an area. Just explore everything really and you'll learn the world more so you don't get lost and you'll find out where to go.
Past the guy banging on a door (you can ignore him) there are stairs you can go up, then to the right are stairs leading you to a bridge, which is where the first boss is and a shortcut to the lamp you were at before so you don't have to do it all every time
