You fecking shits. Every time I decide to myself that I won't buy another game for a while suddenly I see a thread where everyone is hyping up something new.
Just beat the cleric beast! One thing I've noticed, when you level up, the enemies become much more aggressive but smarter. They don't really leave themselves open to attacks.
I also stumbled upon Gascoigne and got my ass handed to me!
There's an item that makes the fight a lot easier that you can find from talking to a girl in a window...I stand corrected said the man in orthopaedic shoes.
I only have about 12 insight I think so I've not seen them level up.
@DatIrishFella I did read somewhere taking on Gazza before level 20 is pretty much signing your own death warrant so I'm grinding for a bit.

Tiny Music box
On the bridge? There's a path to open a shortcut right next to them

With regards to difficulty, I think one factor is that in DS and DS2 you could go find yourselves items that instantly make the game half as hard. For example ring of regen and ring of binding in DS2 which on a first/blind playthrough will help you out a lot. I dont remember DS that well but I'm pretty sure there was something similar there
Im not sure there are any equipment items that impact Bloodborne like that. There are definitely weapons that help a lot - starting with the axe is a good idea if you just want to progress, a lot of people still use it till most of the way through the game due to the range on it. The Holy Blade sword is great damage so again, if you just want progress you can cling to those weapons.
So other than padding your vitality, I dont think theres any "trick" to making the enemies less dangerous. You can be overlevelled and still get killed by normal mobs because of the amount of damage they can do
Yeah using the gravestones is useful. Using oil urns and then throwing a molotov at him does a ton of damage as well, if you have any. Parrying him works but if you feck it up then you probably die.I've had him a couple of shots away a few times but when he transforms he just jumps in the air lands on me and beats the shit out of me. I'm finding using my blunderbus while he's in his human is useful, you can cheese him a bit by standing behind gravestones too. He remind me a bit of the Capra Demon in Dark Souls, only this time you have room to manoeuvre and no dogs attacking at the same time.
The sewers aren't that bad, most of the enemies are slow and just crawl around apart from the big ass pig but you can go around him.. You go through the sewers to get a nice shortcut to the other boss and a few other things. If you're low on health and have no vials then just go as far as you can and stay hidden and look for a shortcut. Or just die and sprint to it with normal health. Once you get the hang of it it's not too hard to jump away from everyone and sprint through it.I think so. I avoided them and now I'm down in the horrible sewers with little to no heath.. any tips?
Yeah, it's mostly just grinding your way to learn how to play it, no really OP weapon early on. Summoning people makes it a lot easier though as it always has. With regards to difficulty, I think one factor is that in DS and DS2 you could go find yourselves items that instantly make the game half as hard. Parrying? What button is that mapped to? Do you mean dodging?![]()
Parrying/riposte is when you time your gun shot perfectly staggering the enemy giving you chance to deal much more damage. It's tricky to master, it's lead to so many unnecessary deaths for me.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh!
I stopped using the blunderbuss because it's so weak. I now realise it's for parrying only.Makes sense now.
Handgun is fine for it I've found gives you a lot more range as well. Anyways, you can buy all the starting weapons after 1 or 2 bosses so it's not a big deal.I picked the handgun. Shite.
That's alright then, though I feel it's going to be a long time before I beat the 2nd boss.Handgun is fine for it I've found gives you a lot more range as well. Anyways, you can buy all the starting weapons after 1 or 2 bosses so it's not a big deal.

Is there any use for the red jewel broach or gold pendant?
Just be mindful that there are one or two different ways you can go.
For example most people will kill the Cleric boss first, but I killed Gascoigne first. A lot of people have called blood starved beast the 2nd boss, but I've killed 5 or 6 and havent gone back to kill it yet.
Likewise when you refer to torches, I think Old Yharnam was like my 10th lamp or something as I missed that part.
Its definitely not an open world and there is definitely an order you have to do certain things to open up other things, but not everything is linear progression
Definitely the axe. I used the saw cleaver as the starter weapon and it was pretty good, hits quickly, but the axe has the biggest variety and most useful move out of the starters. I use the kirkhammer for the most part though, you can buy it shortly into the game. So, by the rate this is downloading I should be able to play this by some point next week. What would you all recommend as starter weapons?
Yeah, sorry, I meant lamps. I'll have to look around for alternate routes and stuff, I saw a path next to that gate I unlocked, covered in boxes, had a giant lardo with a giant cleaver, but he hacked me up in seconds.
