He's great, but I think we need something more prolific. Our problem all season has been finishing what we create. I'd still love to have him, but the money's better spent on other problems.
Might be even less of a goal threat than our current attacking players. We shouldn't be going for him over a proven goalscorer like Griezmann or Sanchez.
It is not just about finishing a chance. IMO teams need to circulate and move the ball well, look threatening and build up pressure. Then the striker can come and finish the chances created (unless there is an obvious 1 on 1). If chances are created sporadically and the general play in the final third is messy, then any striker will struggle.

It's not a science like that though. A player like Silva improves an entire teams forward play, and makes them offensively much better as a unit, which in turn makes them a bigger goal threat as a unit.

United already has two facilitators though. Mata and Mikhitaryan can fill that void. I would much put all efforts on Griezmann and Belotti, considering Mbappe is not an option.

L'Equipe is absolutely miles away from Bouhafsi in terms of reliability.

Not really, they are fairly close. What you hear on RMC is also from Bouhafsi's team and it's pretty much the same things said by Lequipe. In fact they are almost all the time on the same page, the difference is that lequipe have a higher visibility and people talk more about what they write.
Are France Football reliable though?
Of course the visibility is much higher but I'm not convinced. Over the past few years I've seen many more L'Equipe stories turn out to be BS compared to Bouhafsi. And I mean Bouhafsi himself, not his team. If he lets one his juniors or colleagues put a story out and he's not willing to put his name on it, presumably there's a reason for that and he's either not the one with the scoop or he's not convinced by the credibility.
They have very good journalists but they are not really ITKs which is weird because they have access to a lot of clubs.
€50 is stupidly good value in today's market. So probably bollox.

I'd love it to be true but yeah the figure does seem too low to be believable. That would be less than we paid them for Martial right?
Both play different positions. But signing this guy and Griezmann, to me means Griezmann up top. I won't be opposed to that.
He's mainly played on the right wing this season so they wouldn't be competing for the same spot. There would be immense competition to get into the starting eleven between our attackers, i'll give you that. No sure that's a bad thing, though. Would there be room for Mata is another question..

50 million for a player of his potential is daylight robbery. For all the raving about Mbappe, I think Silva is an even bigger talent and Mbappe is being touted for close to record fees, so no chance imo.
I'm probably in a very small minority on this but I would rather we sign Silva than Griezmann. I have watched him around 20-30 games over the last two seasons and have yet to see him play badly.

Interesting to see if there's any truth in these rumours as they do say we're in advanced talks, so it would be weird to go so far if it was simply made up. If this rumour is true, then he's likely to be a Mata replacement.

Both players have completely different roles in a team. Silva will never score 30 goals in a season, which is the bigger priority.
Silva is Ballon d'or potential and that's not even an exaggeration. Of this very exciting Monaco side, he still sticks out for me. His ball control is the best I've seen since peak Messi or Iniesta

I got the impression Silva was another one of those 'yeah they play wide but they like to come inside' kind of players. He's not an actual right winger is he?
That said if we're able to sign them both and Jose thinks he can utilise them both at once I certainly wouldn't be against it.
Then you know that Bouhafsi is the one presenting the information and you should know that RMC were as reliable when Bouhafsi wasn't there. They are reliable because of their beat reporters, they have people like phillipe Auclair, Fred Hermel and many others who give them the news. The myth around Bouhafsi a bit ridiculous partitcularly when he uses Lequipe as a source very often.
Edit: And I forgot, since RMC are mainly made of talkshows, Bouhafsi also spread unreliable rumours which are then discussed, a lot more rumours than Lequipe. But both Lequipe and RMC are honest enough to make it clear when a deal is done or when they are talking about rumours.
