Can't see city being involved, they have 5 positions to fill at the back first.

They might see him as a replacement for their own Silva although their roles have been vastly different this season.

Madrid should try to sign him.The good midfielders are not abundant and with that quality he shouldn't be flower of one day.

I would absolutely love us to sign him. Watched him a few times this season but in particular both legs against City have excited me, excellent player. Agree with others that I think he is exactly what we are missing and if we are going to break the bank for anyone this summer I'd go for him, a lovely player to watch.

Him in our side with Martial and Mikhi would be :devil::drool:

All of these formations don't address our goal scoring problem and relegate Pogba to a 2 man midfield, we need to start getting the most out of what we have before spending another £80M IMO.

I imagine it'll be between him and Griezmann this summer. I think Griezmann is first choice with Silva second. Either would be fantastic! But Griezmann would resolve our goal scoring issues.

Yeah, definitely one or the other I reckon, in truth under a differenct circumstances I'd opt for Silva as I think he's aesthetically one of the best players in the game to watch, but we need Griezmann's cutting edge in front of goal more.

I understand where you are coming from but in reality we don't even have the team to make Griezmann shine or more accurately we don't seem to have the will to make someone like him shine.

For Griezmann, ideally we would be lining up with something like that:

-----------Martial
Mkhi------Grizou------Silva
-------Weigl----Fabinho

The names are just examples, just keep in mind their qualities and ideal roles. The attacking players are the most important here, Griezmann needs players that seek one-twos, run inside and make short runs between or beyond the lines, he is also more comfortable with strikers that are willing to just leave the space upfront.

I guess you're right, a lot will depend on what Jose has planned for the attack, his love of the target man being a key factor in whatever we do. The thing is right now it's clear we don't have the team make-up to score the goals we need and if Jose doesn't accept Pogba can't really thrive in a 2 we'll continue to see him come under big critcism.

The problem is that if we play the 4-3-3 we need to get more goals into that front 3, and while it might not be optimal for Griezmann I think he'd score signifigantly more than Silva would in that formation.

This guy...

I'll be seriously jealous if another team gets him. This is the biggest talent I think I've seen in a long time.

His ball retention is absolutely ridiculous, you can't get the ball off him unless he wants to give it to you. I haven't seen anything like it since a peak Messi or Iniesta.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing. I hope we have some sort of agreement for him as was rumoured, as I'm worried he's going to be attracting a lot of attention come the summer.

Who would be on the chopping block? Personally i think he's better than any of our attackers.

I think he is too but we have wide-playmakers of his mould already i.e. Mkhitaryan and Mata. Bernardo has contributed to 9 goals and 10 assists this season which is probably not too ahead of our guys despite how good of a season he is having overall. I think after this season we should primarily be looking for someone to help the goal-tally rather than Bernardo despite how obviously talented he is.

Should that push someone like Mata out the door then a move for him in the Summer might make sense.

Impressive performance today. Seems completely unafraid of running at oppo defenses. We could use more of that.

One of the top clubs will come in for him at this rate.. Barca, Real, Bayern, Juve etc.

If there's any player I would consider getting from Monaco, it would probably be Mbappe. Along with being talented, he's matured beyond his years which cannot be said about a lot of prodigies/ wonderkids these days.

I think if we have any hope/belief in Rashford then we'll probably see Mbappe as being unnecessary. They're very similar players, though Mbappe is ahead of Rashford in his development. Rashford woukd probably look a lot better at Monaco right now as their style naturally lends itself to that type of player.

Could be our version of Hazard would love this guy and Griezmann (not being greedy). Would hate City to get either both would propel us into the top tier again in Europe in my opinion.

DDG
Valencia Smalling Bailley Shaw
Herrera Pogba
Silva Griezmann Myktarin
Zlatan

With Martial, Rashford and Mata to rotate in. What a scary thought for any team to face.

I agree, both supremely talented and will transform our attack. If we had last season's Martial in there then we'd be a force again in attack.

We're crying out for a LW and Silva would be ideal, a fantastic footballer. He also plays a lot from the right so could swap during games.

If he comes it'll be for Mata for sure.

Same style and same positioning. Both number 10 playing on the right.

Him and Fabinho are Monaco's best players, but I think we need more Fabi than him.

Would be a fantastic signing! Like someone mentioned above, his ball retention is superb, reminds me of some of the top spanish midfielders xavi/iniesta etc.

Realistically, would he join us considering the circumstances at united? i doubt it.
* lack of champions league football be a factor / monaco will have no problem qualifying most seasons.
* He's currently playing in an exciting young team - lets be honest, united are disjointed at present.
* He looks really happy in his current role at monaco, he plays with that bit of freedom. - jose likes rigid positioning.

The only positive i think we have of him joining us is because jose is portuguese.

I honestly think hes bound for barcelona.
* Play style would suit him.
* Champions league.
* Team which competes for every trophy from the get go.
* Would be ideal replacement (if you can repleace him) for iniesta down the line.

I dont want to be so negative but i honestly feel this is a signing we have little to no chance of getting. I feel our name will be dragged into every news story associated with him to bump up transfer fee's and wages during the summer.

Would honestly love to sign this fella, until then, i'll be happy enough watching him play, hes a joy to watch.

I think we'll move for Griezmann this summer and potentially a striker if Ibra leaves. So I hope Silva stays another season and we move in for him in 2018. He is an absolute baller and is magical with the ball at his feet.

Think we should try our best to get him here. A Pogba like transfer sum would do. We need great individual performers. Players who perform even if the team around is mediocre. Mourinho will then build the team around them. I don't think we have a single player whom we can build the team around. Pogba is very good, but he needs help from other players. Bernardo Silva would be the perfect signing for us.

However, he is among the top performers of the season and Real/Bayern/Barca/Juve get the first pick among these players. Then Chelsea and then Manchester City or us. So, can't realistically see him joining us.

We should seriously be looking at Monaco's scouting team, I know these things go in cycles but these guys are not youth products (Mbappe aside) so whoever is scouting these guys are doing one heck of a job.

Monaco's direction after trying to compete with PSG in the money department had been brilliant, and is clearly going to work to amazing effect, buy low and sell high!

It would be disappointing to lose out to Real or Bayern but understandable. If he ends up at Chelsea or City and we don't even try that would be a fecking disaster.

The only teams he would not join for sure would be Sporting, FC Porto or any team coached by Jorge Jesus. He is a big Benfica supporter and from time to time gives the never ending interviews whining how Jorge Jesus never gave him any chances in Benfica and that was his dream, bla bla.

Regardless of the last years, United is very well regarded in Portugal overall and seen as a great club where young players can evolve (his fellow CR being the perfect example).
And any Portuguese player would love to be coached by Mourinho, hands down.
Monaco's coach, Leo Jardim is also portuguese, so those are all very positive factors.
If United want him, for a reasonable fee, i would say the chances are very high.

This guys the best player on the market and would add a dimension to our attack thats bee missing for some time now, an outstanding dribbler who poses a genuine individual threat to defences. Whether we can fight off the competition is the big question because surely we must be in for him.

Should be our number 1 target this summer window. I'd take him over Griezmann.
