Apart from the two runs posted above I thought he was fairly ineffectual and got himself subbed. Maybe this wasn't his best game.

Agreed. He is usually better than that but there is something to be said of the criticism that he's wonderful aesthetically but lacks in end product (in fairness, that's a criticism that was also levelled at Zidane and Iniesta for much of their careers...)

Seems very lightweight, almost like the juan mata at valencia who would take on players and had some pace. Don't think we need him.

Imagine signing him and Griezmann. I think, I would faint.

Well.. we did just get € 23m and € 16m for Schneiderlin and Memphis.. Sell Rooney for 15-45m + another guy and meet the buy-out?

Who we buy probably also depend on the whole missing out of Champions League + Adidas shabang

I don't think the physicality of the league would be too much for him to handle. His burst of acceleration and dribbling ability mean a lot of players don't get near him anyway but from what I've seen he's also deceptively strong for his size.

His versatility in the positions behind the striker could also make him an attractive proposition but I can't see it if we end up signing Griezmann.

He reminds me of Mata with abit more pace. He will suit playing down the middle rather than out on the wing. Again, I don't think we need him.

Would rather him than Griezmann if last night is anything to go off of. Different types of players but think he would suit our squad more than another #10 would
? Bernardo is a #10. Griezmann is not

Bernardo is a #10 who plays right-wing, like Mata or Mkhitaryan before, while Griezmann is a second striker, who would probably play in the same position (#10) in a 4-2-3-1.

I think the physicality of Premier League argument has gone out the window long ago. A lot of small, physically not imposing players have blossomed in PL lately.

On a sidenote, where are Monaco getting all these wonderkids from? Silva, Mbappe, Bakayoko, and I'm sure there's more that I'm missing.

I read somewhere that their policy is to buy hot prospects and sell them on for huge profit. They bought Martial for €5m at 17 and sold him to us for a record fee for a teenager.

precisely. One guy is a #10. The other is a second striker. One guy is very creative on the ball. The other scores goals and has fantastic movement off the ball.

And yes, United should definitely go for Griezmann rather than Silva. For one thing, you need goalscorers more than creators. For another, bernardo silva is a fantastic young player who could become great. Griezmann is one of the 10 best players in the world right now

Here's the thing, the players we have surrounding Ibra at the moment are Martial, Mkhi, Rashford, Mata. The first 3 are very good runners with the ball and dribblers, while the 4th has exceptional off the ball movement but is fairly weak on the ball. Guess who has more goals and assists?

You don't need all your players to be ball carriers, you need variance in your attack. B Silva is a good runner with the ball, but we have those. Mata offers that something extra that helps you unlock tight defences, that the others don't.

Again, it's not that I don't like or rate B Silva. But he's got a reported €70m price tag and plays in positions that we're strongly covered. If he was touted for €25-30, I'd say he's worth a punt.

Martial is tied with him, and Im pretty sure he would have got more had he played more. Mikhi also would have more stats if played more.

But I get your general point and agree he at the price tag we dont need him that much.

If Rooney and young move on then griezmann and silva is a possibility. Lingard might feel a little under threat as well. Personally i like him but he's not comparable to those two and is hardly indispensable.

An attacking midfielder playing out wide? No thanks. We have Mkhi and Mata.

We need genuine wide forwards. A player in the vein of Martial and Hazard. Those that can beat players with not only skill but also pace and physicality.

He seems impossible to dispossess. A bit like Mata in that respect. But, unlike Mata, he manages to wriggle his way through lines before making his final pass. It's easy to see why he's an assister-of-assisters. He's great at drawing people out of position then giving the ball to somebody in enough space to make the final pass. But that does necessitate him being surrounded by creative and clinical players.

I'd welcome him here, but only alongside an additional goal-scoring forward. Assuming that Rashford and Zlatan share the CF duties, I think any 3 behind them out of Mkhitaryan, Mata, Martial, Lingard, Silva and maybe Griezmann would be incredible. CL winning level of incredible.

Incidentally, imagine having both Pogba and Silva in the same team... we'd be kryptonite to Europe's fashionable high-pressers.

I think he's the one player we may pay a fortune for in the Summer window, looks an idea replacement for David Silva who's now 31 and he'd fit straight into our team

I could also see you sign Isco, if he's available and wants to leave.

Appears that Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern, Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd might be in for him.

He has the potential to be a "once in a generation" type of player, in this case feck current team dynamics and secure his signature because its not nice to drool over a player you can't have like we have done over Hazard, Iniesta etc. Bring him in and work out the tactical stuff later.

He seemed a decent player, but I certainly didn't see such a level of quality in him. He's 23 this summer, he's not a kid. At his age Ronaldo was doing unbelievable stuff for us, Rooney likewise, Hazard was doing better at Chelsea and Iniesta was the lynchpin of an all conquering Barca side.

He's not 18. I don't know how much more he will improve, but on current performance levels I wouldn't drop 70m him.

He doesn't have a buy-out clause, no Ligue 1 player has one.

I think he's a brilliant player. Not really the type of player we need, but the caliber of player that would be hard to pass on.

This guy is an absolute monster. Doubt we'll be able to get him sadly.

It's quite obvious he's a future top5 player.

Where will he go? Chelsea, City, Bayern or maybe even us IMO.

Really hope this isn't the guy that played for Benfica and at the U21 Euro Champs in 2015. He was in England's group and looked absolutely exceptional, a younger cut out of David Silva, totally bossed the midfield with Carvalho against us, and so obviously - obviously - going to be a great player.

Allow me to say I don't understand the big English clubs' scouting policies at all.
