Yeah, that's fair enough. Cédric was solid in the final games but I'm always worried when he's there and I believe Cancelo will prove to be a liability defensively. I think Nélson will end up moving this summer so maybe waiting if he can perform everyweek at a higher level is the smart thing to do.

Why you worried? Cédric is solid in defensive terms and he is a good crosser (just look at the tables for the Premier League). He deserves his spot in the national team, at least for now. I don't think RB is an handicap in our national team. I worry much more about our Center Backs since Pepe, José Fonte and Bruno Alves are nearing the end of their respective careers.

I rarely watch Southampton and I wasn't aware of his stats either. I guess I'm still traumatized from a few defensive errors he made when he was here.

Centre back is definitely the major worry for the future, especially if Pepe leaves Real for a chinese club. A few months ago I was certain Ruben Semedo would end up as the next great portuguese CB but now I've obviously changed my mind. I guess we'll always have Ricardo Carvalho

If you want my opinion at least this year we should go to the Confederations Cup with Josué from Guimarães and Rolando from Marseille as backups for Pepe and Fonte, and wait more 1 year to see if Semedo can develop his game after the Euro Under 21, Bruno Alves and Neto should not be part of the future for now.

My right fullback options would be Ricardo Pereira and Nélson Semedo, no Cancelo or Cédric, just opinions.

He's a tidy player and certainly an upgrade on Pedro but it's not the position I would've thought is in most need of addressing for Chelsea.

Not that I disagree but what are our urgent areas for improvement if you don't mind me asking?

Hazard and Bernardo flanking Costa in Chelsea's 3-4-3 would be pretty tasty.
I think they need more support from midfield especially with the CL in play next season.
There's a danger where the league comes to terms with their style of play that the lack of creative spark through the middle could hamper them.
If I were Conte I would improve the quality of the wingbacks, add more zest going forward.

Don't rate him, I'm probably the only one here though. He would be decent as a number 10 but we have plenty of options there, hopefully we're not in for him.

He's pretty much mata with pace and better dribbling but less end product.

70m makes pogba sound a bargain though. Think 40 sounds realistic.

he looks massively overrated, too slowfor my liking to play on a flank for us, we have a lot of no10s, better go for Mahrez

I think Chelsea would buy Sanchez. He likes London and they will be in the champs league next year.
Hazard-costa-alexis would be crazy

I think Arsenal will do everything they can to make sure Sanchez goes to a different league.

Chelsea can bring in a more creative CM, a RWB and Bernardo though, like United they are not in the either/or position.

Mata with pace and better dribbling but less end product would be a completely different player to the actual Mata. If I had to compare Bernardo Silva with a United player it would be Mkhitaryan, except Mkhitaryan last season produced outstanding numbers while Silva is an integral part of a lot of buildups but doesn't have great numbers. I don't think Bernardo Silva is a 70m player but he's been the best player in France this season (partly down to Verratti missing a good portion of the season through injury) and Monaco won't let him go cheap.

In the columns of 10 Sport, it is learned that Manchester United has an option on the transfer of Bernardo Silva, the Portuguese offensive medium of ASM, which is highly coveted on the European market.

Bernardo Silva, who belongs to the Jorge Mendes team, is one of the most coveted elements on the European market. A club would have already advanced particularly on its future transfer: Manchester United. José Mourinho appreciates the potential of Bernardo Silva, whom he knows perfectly.

MU has priority for Bernardo Silva?

According to our information, Manchester United has already laid the groundwork for the summer holiday. Indeed, the club Mancunien would have already taken an option on the future transfer of Bernardo Silva. Clearly, MU did not close the deal, but it would be possible to buy the young Portuguese at a certain price until a given date.

He looks to be a top talent, would be gutted if he went to Chelsea. Reminds me of Silva at his pomp, fast, good with the ball at his feet, creative.

Between him, Lemar and Mbappe, i'd go with the other two over him. This isn't a slight on him, but i think there are more positives in the other two than in Silva.

The only way we would have first option on Silva is if the Falcao loan fee included first option on a few of their players. It would also explain why every other club was turned away when approaching Martial yet they sold him to us

He was only sold due to the failure to qualify for the CL, plus I think the clauses in our deal helped. Others might have wanted to pay a flat fee with no/few addons.

Didn't Chelsea match our offer? We'll never know but there must be a reason why we've been linked to 4/5 Monaco players over the last 18 months.

First option might be due to Jorge mendes. He is his agent and has worked on some monaco deals and may have a agreement with Monaco to sell him to his preferred club(us).
I dont think it was in martial deal
Another thing might be, we asked about him in january, and agreed and outlined a fee we would pay for him in the summer. Make verbal agreement to buy him till say 15 july for x million pounds, telling monaco we would match any bids that come in for him. This i think might be true as griezmann only moves here if we have CL or he might not even come then, I think Silva is the backup plan to him.

“There was another club that offered even more than United,” Monaco's vice-president Vadim Vasilyev revealed.

“I will not say how much, but the fixed price, without variables, it was even better. And also they offered us to have him for a further year in Monaco.

“But the boy wanted to go to Manchester, it was his dream. And we let him go with the bonus of 30m euros. Had it not been for so much money, he’d have stayed.”

Sounds like Chelsea put in a better fixed bid but our offer was better overall with add-ons. He's one goal away from the first clause.

I think the links are to do with the Mendes connection. Monaco players get linked to Atletico a fair bit too.

People saying we dont need him are mad. We have no player like him, just playing today as usually. Guy is a top top player.

Signing him now is like going back in time and signing Iniesta at 22.

fecking hell he turned up, i saw him against PSG an he did not show this level. The ball is stuck to his feet and he is such a natural dribbler, also works very hard in defense.

The ball seems to be glued to his feet. Absolute joy to watch on the ball.
