Martial - Mhki - Bernardo
I thought this thread might see a change of tune.
*Cushion on the groin*............Griezmann
Martial...Mkhitaryan...Silva
Anyone who's seen Bernardo play for the last 18 months will know he's better than Mata.He would be a massive upgrade to Mata, looks like a Maradona type player with his left foot.

Totally agree with you. Defensively a lousy game from Monaco. And as you said, Mbappé and Mendy the only interesting players. At least after watching this match. There's some crazy underrating of our players going on here. Silva is a quicker player than Mata for sure, snappier in a way and better dribbler but he doesn't have Mata's off the ball movement. Mata is showing higher productivity than him on a tougher league. Not to mention that we quite often play Mkhi on the right and I believe Mkhi to be a better player overall anyway.
Fabinho is a decent player but I still don't see what he adds that Herrera doesn't. I would have him as an addition but there's other players I would take ahead of him.
Surprisingly for me Mendy was the most interesting one, because we don't have a left back that offers attacking threat and he seems to have it. It's all hinging on how Shaw kicks on, because I see Blind staying here for years as a versatile backup for many positions, including left-back.
Mbappe looks good. No way Monaco will be willing to sell yet though. He's one to over the next couple of years.
Can't afford him.Barcelona will be all over him.
Fabinho played at RB and did you not see his crosses, namely the super cross to Falcao for his diving header. In terms of whipping balls in he's a massive upgrade on Valencia. There's some crazy underrating of our players going on here. Mkhitaryan will soon move behind the striker at No.10 as it by far his best position so that frees up a spot a RM/RW/RAM and Sulva would be perfect for that position considering him and Mkhi could easily interchange those two positions.
We must have watched a different game because I saw Fabinho at CM like always and Sidibé at RB....like always. Yes he put in a very good cross for the Falcao header. Still he's got nothing on Valencia because he's not a right back, he's DM.
Again, Mata's showing higher productivity than Silva in a tougher league and his interplay with Mkhi is already great. I cannot really stress this enough. Why do you think it's worth spending the reported €70m fee on a guy that might marginally improve our RW position, or might not?
We don't need a player there. What we need is a DM to replace the outgoing Carrick, Basti and the gone Schneiderlin. And in the next 15 months a striker to replace Ibra + Rooney. Why would we spunk such a ridiculously high fee for a player in a position we have already strongly covered when we have more immediate requirements?

He plays both positions.
Yes, he's been playing CDM all season, but he used to be a RB.Fair enough, though every time I've seen them in the CL he plays centrally. He definitely played DM today. Sidibé was quite clearly the right back.
What Mata has on all these guys (KDB, D Silva, B Silva etc) is his off the ball runs on goal. But as a creative force? Mata is not as good as them.
He's great to watch but I don't see us buying him, you can argue him vs Mata but the difference isn't £70M and more squad turnover IMO, I'm pretty sure Griezmann falling through is the only way we'd go for him.
Let's just buy Monaco for the ease of it.
He defended, he attacked, he did everything and he looked classy on the ball. His driblling is fantastic and passing is very inventive. I dont know what game you were watching.Apart from the two runs posted above I thought he was fairly ineffectual and got himself subbed. Maybe this wasn't his best game.
