He would be a massive upgrade to Mata, looks like a Maradona type player with his left foot.

Bailly-Jones-Rojo
Carrick*
Herrera-Pogba
Martial
Silva--------Mbappe
Ibrahimovic.

My. Oh. My.

He's warmer than a fat mans bum crack and their defence is as wide open as one.

He lost the ball too often, he had a few genius moments but he wasn't effective enough today. He's usually better than that

Anyone who's seen Bernardo play for the last 18 months will know he's better than Mata.

Sensational tonight.

www.asmonaco.com:

Add to basket - Silva, Mbappé, Fabinho, Mendy.

There's some crazy underrating of our players going on here. Silva is a quicker player than Mata for sure, snappier in a way and better dribbler but he doesn't have Mata's off the ball movement. Mata is showing higher productivity than him on a tougher league. Not to mention that we quite often play Mkhi on the right and I believe Mkhi to be a better player overall anyway.

Fabinho is a decent player but I still don't see what he adds that Herrera doesn't. I would have him as an addition but there's other players I would take ahead of him.

Surprisingly for me Mendy was the most interesting one, because we don't have a left back that offers attacking threat and he seems to have it. It's all hinging on how Shaw kicks on, because I see Blind staying here for years as a versatile backup for many positions, including left-back.

Mbappe looks good. No way Monaco will be willing to sell yet though. He's one to watch over the next couple of years.

Totally agree with you. Defensively a lousy game from Monaco. And as you said, Mbappé and Mendy the only interesting players. At least after watching this match.

Fabinho played at RB and did you not see his crosses, namely the super cross to Falcao for his diving header. In terms of whipping balls in he's a massive upgrade on Valencia.

Mkhitaryan will soon move behind the striker at No.10 as it by far his best position so that frees up a spot a RM/RW/RAM and Sulva would be perfect for that position considering him and Mkhi could easily interchange those two positions.

We must have watched a different game because I saw Fabinho at CM like always and Sidibé at RB....like always. Yes he put in a very good cross for the Falcao header. Still he's got nothing on Valencia because he's not a right back, he's DM.

Again, Mata's showing higher productivity than Silva in a tougher league and his interplay with Mkhi is already great. I cannot really stress this enough. Why do you think it's worth spending the reported €70m fee on a guy that might marginally improve our RW position, or might not?

We don't need a player there. What we need is a DM to replace the outgoing Carrick, Basti and the gone Schneiderlin. And in the next 15 months a striker to replace Ibra + Rooney. Why would we spunk such a ridiculously high fee for a player in a position we have already strongly covered when we have more immediate requirements?

He plays both positions.

What Mata has on all these guys (KDB, D Silva, B Silva etc) is his off the ball runs on goal. But as a creative force? Mata is not as good as them.

Fair enough, though every time I've seen them in the CL he plays centrally. He definitely played DM today. Sidibé was quite clearly the right back.
Yes, he's been playing CDM all season, but he used to be a RB.

Here's the thing, the players we have surrounding Ibra at the moment are Martial, Mkhi, Rashford, Mata. The first 3 are very good runners with the ball and dribblers, while the 4th has exceptional off the ball movement but is fairly weak on the ball. Guess who has more goals and assists?

You don't need all your players to be ball carriers, you need variance in your attack. B Silva is a good runner with the ball, but we have those. Mata offers that something extra that helps you unlock tight defences, that the others don't.

Again, it's not that I don't like or rate B Silva. But he's got a reported €70m price tag and plays in positions that we're strongly covered. If he was touted for €25-30, I'd say he's worth a punt.

I'll probably get killed for this but he doesn't remind me of Mata, Silva, Messi or any of the players being mentioned in here. He reminds me of Hleb before Barca bought him.

Been watching him all season, if he achieves his potential he is gonna be a game changer in any team.
With that said he needs to build up a bit of his body to fit in the EPL and work on his end game. I wouldnt tag him as 70M atm but he could easily be worth that much in a few years. 40 to 50 price tag would be more fitting if we take in consideration his age, current talent and potential

He's great to watch but I don't see us buying him, you can argue him vs Mata but the difference isn't £70M and more squad turnover IMO, I'm pretty sure Griezmann falling through is the only way we'd go for him.

This is true, he'd still be a hell of a signing should Griezmann fall through. He can reunite with Martial.

I think with us offloading Rooney, Bastian, Memphis and Schneiderlin our wage bill would facilitate for us bringing in 2 attacking talents in Griezmann and Bernardo.

Apart from the two runs posted above I thought he was fairly ineffectual and got himself subbed. Maybe this wasn't his best game.
He defended, he attacked, he did everything and he looked classy on the ball. His driblling is fantastic and passing is very inventive. I dont know what game you were watching.

Would rather him than Griezmann if last night is anything to go off of. Different types of players but think he would suit our squad more than another #10 would
