The FA are trying their best to stop the Berba transfer so that there is lesser chance of United equalling Liverpool's record.

Its over were signing no one. while chelsea have sighned bosingwa, deco and robinho. and have employed one of the best managers in the world too. expect to see giggs up front at some point this season when our striker injuries mount up and they will. im not sure if we can compete with the power of chelseas squad.
Right ive finally given up completely on this. there is a 0% chance of him arriving now. we wont be sighning anyone else either.

One top class striker and wed be fine though.
Kluivert would have been excellent at United, so I don't really understand your point here. I didn't see much of Collymore so I can't really say how much potential he had.
Kluivert was shite since left Ajax.

Can I bring about some realism to the thread?
FACTS:
1: Berbatov IS for sale
2: Berbatov WANTS to join us
3: We WANT Berbatov
4: Tottenham ARE a selling club
5: Tottenham WILL NOT expend as much as they have without getting income
6: Tottenham WANT stupid money
7: We WON'T pay stupid money
8: No-one else is interested in Berbatov
9: A compromise WILL be reached Sunday/Monday
10: Berbatov WILL sign for us

Collymore was a brilliant talent. Big, strong, brilliant in the air, athletic, great left peg, good finisher. Crapped it down the bogs unfortunately though.
Double YouWhat's your obsession with words beginning in "W"?
They have the money to pay as much as they have and not sell Berbatov.

Fergie said in pre match conference he wont sign any players this transfer window according to someone from other forum
If they bring in Arshavin, Velso and Pav that's at least £40m. They do not have that kind of money seriously. They have always banked on the Berbatov money and will be wanting at least £25m which covers quite a bit of their spending.
Fact is they have to sell just for the fact that the fans, players and board dislike Berbatov now. Keeping him would be detrimental to the squad, which when you're spending so much is non-sensical.
He's coming in the next few days. It's just depends on who blinks firsts. I think it will be them. Under £30m definately.

No Veloso, Arshavin and Huntelaar for Spurs then.
bbc ticker saying fergie less optimistic on berba..
Has that ever happened in top-flight football? I know it's often mooted by managers, but I just can't see it happening, especially in this case. If the transfer falls through, Berbatov will end up in a similar position to Gareth Barry (or Cristiano Ronaldo) and realise it's better to cut his losses and play... Spurs would be idiots not to play him...Something tells me Fergie wouldn't have any problem calling Spurs bluff and letting Berbatove fester in the Spurs reserves until Christmas (cunningly sitting out all the UEFA Cup games) before we take him off their hands in the New Year - for a knock-down price - fresh and raring to go for the business end of the season.
Might not be ideal but would be very satisfying to leave Levy to stew on his mis-handling of the whole situation for another few months
