so when are we going to agree the fee with those stubborn spurs and in particular Levy?
That's what we said about Shearer, and we ended up with Ole.

Well if we got someone of the quality of Solskjaer on the cheap this season instead of Berbatov I would be perfectly happy with that.
We won't though.
Ole was not bought instead of Shearer.
That's the way the story goes. You mean we were going to buy Shearer and Ole?
Ole was a natural finisher, was recomended to us, for a goal scorer he came cheap therfore well worth a punt.
What's the chances of this transfer actually happening? 50-50? Or less?
I'd say 80-20.

You're probably in the wrong place to get an accurate answer to that question, to be fair!
FWIW, the bookies have the odds stacked heavily in favour of him signing for us before Monday.
In favour of him signing I presume?
All very true. I've not said anything to suggest otherwise. I still don't understand. If we had bought Shearer do you think we would have signed Ole?
That only Fergie could tell you, I just know he was recomended, goal scorers like Ole are not that common and at the price? Of course the PLC might have said no more spending if we had spend that much on shearer.

Yea that's true. Well hopefully if they leave it to the last minute he will have scored a winning goal against Chelsea in the meantime.
Exactly, you can't be sure of it either way. So there is still a big possibility that Ole was signed instead of Shearer, because Shearer turned us down and we were on the lookout for a striker.
You said that as if you knew something I didn't. Doesn't seem that way tbh.
It was suggested we got Ole because we did not get Shearer and that is not true ---- ok?
Spurs Tell Berba: You Can Only Go If Arshavin Joins
Tottenham Hotspur are understood to have told want-away striker Dimitar Berbatov that he will only allowed to leave if Spurs can bring in Andrei Arshavin as well as Roman Pavlyuchenko.
Dimitar Berbatov’s desired move to Manchester United looks like hinging on Tottenham’s ability to secure a Russian double.
Roman Pavlyuchenko is reportedly on his way to North London in a £12million deal from Spartak Moscow.
But his signing him alone will not be enough to prompt Spurs to sell Berbatov to Manchester United, because they would still only have two strikers.
Tottenham are understood to have re-opened talks with Zenit St Petersburg over Andrei Arshavin this week, and are hopeful they can negotiate the fee down to below £20million, after Zenit broke the Russian transfer record with a €30million deal for Portuguese midfielder Danny Alves from Dynamo Moscow. However, Zenit insist that 25-year-old Danny is a replacement for Arshavin.
Nevertheless Spurs maintain that only when Arshavin has joined them will they agree to let Berbatov head off to Old Trafford.
That means the sulky, silky Bulgarian striker may be required to play one more game in a Tottenham shirt on Sunday. He could replace Darren Bent against Chelsea because Pavlyuchenko is unlikely to be ready, and Bent has looked below par so far this season.

Bunch of spastics. It's a wonder they can figure out how to breathe on their own.
Some thing is going to have to happen today or tommorow for this tranfer to go through by Monday
Well if nothing at all happens then today and tomorrow will not have occurred - so we will need some things to happen (like time passing) in order to get to Monday, whether Berb signs or not. Which makes your post rather a pointless tautology.
Ooohh! You are strict!
Ferguson wanted Collymore but ended up with Cole
He also wanted Kluivert but he ended up with Yorke.
Good managers tend to have other alternatives in mind. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't
Kluivert would have been excellent at United, so I don't really understand your point here. I didn't see much of Collymore so I can't really say how much potential he had.
