Berbatov

Saha has averaged 20 starts a season and a fair few substitute appearances during his Manchester United career. Ronaldo can play up there very well if times get desperate.

It's like playing Fletcher on the wing when we need to, O'Shea in midfield when we have injuries or Rooney on the wing when we really need to.
Fletcher only comes into contention for the wing if 3 wingers and Hargreaves is inured, we have to play O'Shea in midfield if 4 central midfielders are injured and only then if Giggs isn't considered, Ronaldo has to play upfront once either Rooney or Tevez are unavailable.

Doesn't HAVE to, if Saha happens to be fit, or we use Campbell.

However, it could be that the team as a whole is better using Ronaldo upfront with Tevez or Rooney, and two out of Nani, PArk, Giggs and Hargreaves on the wings.

Nah Ronaldo should keep sneaking past defenders from the wing. It makes him almost impossible to mark.

Saha is rarely fit, Campbell isn't good enough yet and may never be

Get rid of him: Spurs players want Berbatov out

Dimitar Berbatov is in danger of becoming an outcast at Tottenham, with some senior players left fuming after he didn't play against Sunderland because his mind wasn't right.

Berbatov wasn't even on the substitutes' bench as Spurs lost their second straight game of the new season.

The 27-year-old has told the club to let him fulfil his dream of going to Old Trafford, but the deal has been held up due to chairman Daniel Levy's complaint to the Premier League over Manchester United's pursuit of the Bulgarian international

The saga is threatening the mood in the dressing room and a few players would rather lose his talent up front than keep him at the club.

Berbatov's attitude in pre-season didn't go down well with members of the squad and it is understood that some players lost patience with him after he didn't play against Sunderland.

Defender Jonathan Woodgate insisted afterwards that the team's poor start to the campaign shouldn't be blamed on Berbatov, but it is not a view shared by everyone behind the scenes.

He has also lost the backing of many of the fans and was booed heavily when he came on against Middlesbrough last week.

Tottenham are still maintaining that they will keep the player unless they get a bid of £30million, but they were prepared to accept £28m a few weeks ago as long as they were able to buy a replacement.

They have even threatened to put Berbatov in the reserves should the move not take place and his attitude continues to be disruptive - but an agreement with United is expected to be reached soon.

Ramos is desperate for the situation to be resolved as soon as possible, to ensure that the club have enough time to find a new striker.

No Berb makes me

Shoot yourself then. No one will miss you.

Will Campbell score more than 20 goals like Berbatov would?

I don't know if how many goals Campbell would score. Nor do I know how many goals Berbatov would score.

Obviously, Berbatov is a better player than Campbell though.

You see, if he can sulk so much at Spurs, imagine what he could do at Old Trafford. Why do you guys still hope such a sulker comes to Old Trafford?

lets get to the brink of signing him and agreeing on paying 30 mil then at the deadline sign someone else and tell levy to shove it up his arse. that'll please me no end.

:D I like it, I like it!, if only.

Why would he sulk at United? He wants to be a United player, there is no reason for him to sulk when he is a Utd player.

A fella called Cantona was a bit like that. Glad we didn't get him.

It would appear that SAF disagrees with Cnut.

Not that anything like that will make dear ol' cnut think twice. He is, after all, infallible. That's why he's the greatest manager in premier league history. (Oh wait - silly me! That's SAF.)

Are you always in agreement with Sir Alex?

I think he is, you don't

Hence I don't think we need Berbatov or anyone else, whilst you do.

Yey cause Campbell would carry the team if Rooney or Tevez get injured right? and remember there is no Ronaldo to save us until october.

I think Campbell has potential but he cant be our third choice striker. He cant have that responsibility right now cause he wont deliver and we cant expect that from a young lad like him.

We all know Saha is never there when needed on big occasions in fact he is never fit, Manucho still doesnt get his permit and need to get his fitness back if he gets the permit (That probably will take a month and while we are in the season).

You dont need to be intelligent to know we need another striker.

Playing in a Champions league final and 15 mins to end the game if you can have Campbell or Berbatov as a sub and expect one of them to change the f'cking game i know who i had like to have.

Berbatov will be delighted to be sitting on the bench...

The Work Permit he has now. He is in early training and is making his recovery from injury. Not close to being ready for a match yet.

I've said in another thread that the squad can defend our trophies, it'd be daft however not to strengthen a weak area

I don't see it as a weak area.

And the reason I don't see it as a weak area, I've outlined in a number of posts.

No....I think it's pretty clear in order to mount a serious defence of our title we need Berbatov, particularly because Campbell isn't good enough and Ronaldo is out until November.

I have to say that I did use the arguement on here that we are still a squad who won the double last season, but the other side of that coin is that Chelsea have made improvements to last season's squad with Deco etc

So, if we do not sign Berbatov this week, you do not expect us to challenge for the title?

I dont like Berba's attitude. If he can do this to his present team what stops him to do the same while he is here??? Madrid or Barca come knocking and then suddenly he wants out.

25mil is alot for him anyway. Rather sign Benzema for 35mil next season. Alex is right. We are not desperate to sign a striker. We will make do with what we have. Hell we did the double last season didnt we?? Saha will hopefully come right when he decides to stop screwing the nurse in the medical room, Campbell looks promising and Man Utd-get my papers sorted out-Cho will be a good back up. Fingers crossed.
