Has this thread surpassed the mighty 'Teveth' thread?

Personally I don't think it has them same level of drama.

Madrid enter Berbatov race.

Sources close the the Spanish capital say the real hierarchy have sanctioned a move for the sulking striker. With the impending transfer of Robinho to Chelsea, club president is desperately trying to appease fans bringing in 2 new faces before the deadline. Berbatov has recently been quoted as saying its his 'dream' to move away from the failing north London side. This news will come as a bitter blow to Manchester United who thought they had all but rapped up the transfer with the Bulgarian who now has his heart set on fecking as many Spanish sluts as humanly possible in Madrid's baking heat.

They wouldnt dear, they won't get Ronaldo at that rate

For the first time tonight i thought that our world wouldnt be so bad without berbatov.
I may be biased but i thought we played some awesome footy tonight. and rooney led the line so well at times. we do need another striker though to give us that extra option. when we do get him, feck the rest were the best game over.

We are so dependent on Rooney upfront though, Berbatov will make us deadly even if Rooney is injured

I just read this on Sky Sports website....

I am a spurs fan too, but we have to remember we are never going to be in the top 4. Thats not pessimism, thats fact. Levy is a small pawn in a big game. Enic owns Spurs and it is a known fact that they are interested in making money not winning football matches. Spurs are a small percent of a big conglomerate. Look at the football rich list. We are always in it with Barcelona and Chelsea etc because we are there to make money. Enic will sell Berbatov, make a nice profit and a half decent replacement will be bought to appease the fans. Win anything? I doubt it. Ramos does not have control. Don't blame him. Make money? You bet we will! Spurs are a commodity and nothing else. Enic say top half is all that is neede to make a tidy profit I wish it wasn't so but we have to accept it and get behind the team. Good look Keano and Berba at your new clubs. Come on Spurs. Lets put it right on the field.

Wow,do you think guys any of this is true? I mean, that´s awful.:nervous:

Would most people here call Berbatov an out and out striker?

Just a yes or no is all I'm asking for.

they have spent a lot in the last 2 seasons .
roman and chelsea have spoiled many "fans" who expect their sides to spend more than they have/can afford every summer
spuds are still spending more than i thought they could afford but they still have to balance their books to some extent

20m for keane was an offer that no sane person would turn down
if they do let berbatov go , the money would be spent to get new strikers in
they have spent more than they have recouped this summer

that guy is clearly deluded

Dimitar Berbatov could 'rot in reserves'

Tottenham have told Dimitar Berbatov that they are prepared to let him rot in their reserves unless Manchester United, or any other club, meet their £30 million valuation

Berbatov controversially missed Saturday's defeat against Sunderland, with manager Juande Ramos declaring that the Bulgarian's "head is not right" amid interest from Manchester United.

Ramos is desperate for a swift end to the problem, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy remains adamant that is down to United to come up with an acceptable offer.

If not, Tottenham sources have insisted that the club will keep Berbatov and even prevent him from training or playing with the first team. Tottenham are also considering whether to fine the 27-year-old.

So far, United have had one bid of £20.5 million turned down and are now poised to increase their offer.

Tottenham, though, have rejected suggestions that they would accept a deal in the region of £25 million simply to bring an end to the saga. Since January, they have made it clear that any deal for Berbatov would depend on a bid that at least matched the British record transfer fee of £30 million that Chelsea paid for Andrei Shevchenko.

Tottenham have also complained to the Premier League, alleging that United had illegally pursued Berbatov over the past year, and the bad feeling between the clubs has clearly not helped negotiations.

However, it is understood that the potential sale of Berbatov will depend only on Tottenham receiving the right money for a player who cost just £10.9 million in 2006. It is a risky tactic given that Ramos clearly needs a speedy conclusion to the problem.

Tottenham have lost their opening two Premier League matches and Ramos has admitted that the uncertainty surrounding Berbatov had contributed to the club's wretched start to the season.

"We need to get this matter resolved before the transfer deadline," said Ramos. "If Berbatov goes, we will need time to sign a replacement. We want to have the best centre-forward we can possibly get."

Spurs are considering making a bid for the Colombian striker Falcao, who plays for River Plate in Argentina, while the Russians Roman Pavlyuchenko and Andrei Arshavin remain options. They have already sold Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane this year and urgently need reinforcements in attack to stand a serious chance of pushing towards their stated aim of a top-four finish.
