Berbatov

We don't really know what quotes are true and what aren't. I seriously doubt Tevez wants to or would like to play in Spain. I think we know what the spanish press and the media are like in general

So when he's 28 we'll see. It's a long way away and if your winning the big trophies it's hard to let that go.

I hope we get Berbatov but only God knows the future

Cristiano?

Why are posts being deleted in this thread? I answered a question from Pogue, and both seem to be gone now, along with plenty of others.

Wibbs is online, and likely fed up with WUMs.

Somebody will be a fall guy soon.

PLease see post #9601

Means In The Know, mate. Basically means they claim to have some inside info. Someone wrote quite a funny pisstake on it quite a few pages back, which I can't be arsed looking for.

Fair enough. Although neither myself or Pogue were being WUM's, just commenting on the fact it was going on.

An ITK i know called Rims, has said that Berbatov will definitely join before the pompey game, unless he doesn't, in which case he won't.

We could greatly benefit from having Berbatov because Rooney and Tevez are not always gonna be available. They miss games just like everyone else eg. Tevez flying back to Argentina at short notice. Look at the ages of our strikers and you can see why Fergie thinks we lack experience (ignore Saha). When Rooney and Tevez are not there we need to be confident in the proven quality of their replacement. Campbell and Manucho are unproven despite their potential. Also Berbatov gives us that different option that we are currently lacking. There are gonna be games where he is better suited to starting with either Rooney or Tevez behind. Its as long season and everyone will get plenty of chances.

this man sounds both handsome and wise.

Yeah he's also super cool, and pledges allegiance to the mighty Lolibfascon.

What he said.

In The Knows

An irritating Spurs fan acronym, which has infected this message board, thanks to GlastonSpur.

Supposed to be people who have contacts within one of the clubs involved.

In reality, tend to be attention-seeking inadequates, who gain a bizarre sense of self-worth through the attention they get by drip-feeding made-up nonsense to hungry transfer muppets.

In The Know

Thank ye.

Irritating Transfer/Tottenham Khunts?

does anyone else think we wont rush anything now

tevez and rooney will start against pompey , we dont have another game after that till september (except the super cup)

we might wait hoping they agree to the 25m rather than agree to something closer to 30

Yup. Makes sense to me.

Same reason we didn't rush anything through last week.

We should have had enough quality in our squad to win our first two games without panic-buying a new striker. Bit of a kick in the teeth losing Tevez before the bar-codes game and not much fun going into the Pompey game without any wingers but there you go.

As long as we get him, that is all that matters, the quicker we move away from basing our game around ronaldo, the better...

 Because there's no way he can produce like last season...

Don't be daft. Of course he can produce like he did last season. But that's no guarantee that he will. It always makes sense to have plenty of options. What if he didn't perform? There'd be folk on here blaming him for everything.

I think its daft for someone to suggest not basing the attack around the world's best player. Berbatov is excellent, and I would enjoy him at Old Trafford, I was just pointing out the previous posters "Terry-like" opinions...

did you even read my reply?

im not saying he's crap, he's among the best players in the world right now! course he aint crap...

all im saying is that he's very likely to be off to madrid next year, what is the use of basing our whole team around someone who's not going to be here next season? its quite frankly, what an idiot would do, and fergie is no idiot...

EDIT - i'd love to see what all the ronaldo fanboys would say if we continue basing our game on him this season, only for ronaldo to go next season, what will we play next? 4-4-2? carrick and scholes havent got the legs to play a 4-4-2, 4-5-1? everyone will be up in arms if we play that...

trust me, the best thing to do this season is to bring in berbatov, gradually increase Nani's exposure in line with his improvement, and once ronaldo is off, we can replace him with Nani, and thus we can still continue playing the system we are playing now, albeit, the focus and thrust of the system wont come from the nominal wide player, but through the middle in the form of rooney and berbatov....

If Fergie didn't let him go this season, whats going to change in a years time?

If I was a betting man I would guess SAF has said stick around one more season and IF you still want to leave, you will go with my blessing. I am not (ITK - now we all know what this means!)

Anyway is there anybody in here ITK? RE: Berbatov.
