Berbatov

SSN have confirmed again he was at Spurs Training Ground this morning.

Now, for how long I ask?

It may have just been in, out , and off to Manchester.

Whoever told SSN may have said he was there, but wasn't, just to keep things quiet.

Is that radio report genuine that he is having a medical, or is it just another windup?

I wouldn't imagine you can. It's like being given the deeds to a house without signing anything. Spurs will only release his registration when we have signed the contracts, undertaken the necessary financial guarantees. Until then, he won't be our player to register. It would be another case of third-party ownership of sorts.

Seconded.

Transfer > Trophies it seems.

What utter drivel! Nobody and i mean nobody puts the teams priorities in that order.

However without any player transfers the club would stand still while others around us moved forward. Is that really what any fan wants?

Football management is about tweaking the team, making it better year after year.

This year SAF has identified (pretty obviously) that an additional centre forward is needed to make the team grow and allow us to better our achievements of last season.

I for one am extremely excited by the prospect of Berbatov signing. If that makes me a muppet so be it but Transfers > Trophies :nono:

I'm not worried about whether we have him to play tomorrow or not. If we can't beat a Newcastle squad that might be without some of the their most important players, as is, then I don't think one Berbatov would make a difference for 1 game either (and I'm not bashing Berba here). If he comes on Monday or some time next week, that's fine with me too...as long as they just get him.

Look. As Blackadder reminded us, the ape creatures of the indus have mastered arithmitic.

1) United have paid - oh, what for our existing squad? A gazillion or so.

2) We are very much in need of a world-class striker to lead the line.

3) Such players cannot be had for ten bob.

4) Failing to complete the team because of an unwillingness to pay the market rate for the required component sits very comfortably with the old adage about spoiling the ship for a hap'orth of tar.

5) The willingness to pay £15-20M for a journeyman player would, in fact, represent a genuine squandering of resources.

6) You are a muppet.

Another poster with common sense.

I'd be more concerned about him playing Sunday than tomorrow.

Thats the most sense ive read in about 5 pages.

still could have flown upto manchester after the training sesh this morning.

Those photos has clearly been manipulated, it's obviously dos Santos' body with Berbatov's head.
They're not fooling me.

Exactly.
Newcastle look like they're in trouble right now with all their best players out.
If we can't beat them without the Berb then we're in trouble too.

Photo's might have been taken yesterday?

They may have been ya, especially as they went out of their way to clearly show Berbatov in the photo.

While no deal is sealed for Arshavin, they can't be seen to show their hand I suppose.

Well then. We can expect to see him playing tomorrow against Middlesbrough. This saga will not be over until the end of the transfer window.

I think tomorrow will give us a clear indication of whether a deal is imminent. If it is he won't play for fear of him picking up an injury.

We'll just have to wait and see i guess.

For all we know a deal could be in place :).

Whatever the score is I'm confident he'll be signed before the transfer deadline though.
