We Can Safely Say He Wont Be Signing Today Unless A Miracle Occurs In 15 MiNutes[/QUOTE

I see you're from London so in regards to the photo that was supposedly taken today, was this at least how the weather was?

They are wearing the same clothes as they did on Thursday :D

One thing I notice is Berbatov had his hair tied back on Thursday, but it's not in that photo, but I wouldn't read anything into that though.

Them going out of their way to show Berbatov does make me suspicious.

Im in London as well. Thats the weather for today. Bright, warm and mostly sunny.

there's also a slight breeze. guys, notice in the picture the trees aren't swaying. The tree's aren't swaying....:p

it won't be done now till next week (hopefully) - especially with Rooney seemingly being ready for sunday

Keep your chins up people this deal will happen (Eventually).

When quizzed today SAF had the perfect opportunity to declare our interest in Berbatov as bullshit. He didn't which leads me to strongly believe that we are still negotiating with Spurs.

fecking papers make complete tits of themselves.

it's because most people have memories like goldfish.

The Sun will print on Monday that Berbatov will sign this week.

Then on Tuesday that the deal is off.

Then if he were to sign they would re-print on their back page the Monday story with the caption "we told you first"

Very old journalism trick that they've been fooling their moronic readership with for years.

All that stuff through the week through all the papers about his immanent arrival was all bollocks.
No quotes at all and it seems nothing at all has changed in this sorry saga. spurs dont want to sell him and think given a bit more time he will be happy to remain. its too late to sign anyone else now and im so fecked off with all this shit, why did we wait for the euros to come and go? berba wasnt even playing.

Worst close season ever.

Or, they are in the middle of a tapping up enquiry regarding the same player, and anything he says now, either directly or indirectly, may be seen an inflamatory.

About sums it up.We miss Quieroz.

Can somebody sum up todays happenings?

Berbatov wasn't training with the Spurs, but then he was.

SAF told reporters he has absolutely nothing to say on the matter.

Berbatov was again seen in Manchester, but at the same time he was also training with the Spurs.

Same old, same old.

Berbatov either did or didn't train with Spurs. He then either did or didn't have a showdown meeting with Spurs where he may or may not have told them of his wish to leave. He then may or may not have gone to Manchester, and may or may not have had a medical. SAF refused to talk about whether there were any developments.

That's about it.

You're right, all those years of buying people like Miller, Kleberson, Djemba-Djemba while having no trophies to celebrate were much better than this close season.:smirk:

Berbatov on brink of €35m United deal

MANCHESTER UNITED appeared to have clinched the £28million (€35m) signing of Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham subject to a medical.

It is understood the clubs have reached an agreement for the transfer and the Bulgaria striker is now expected to travel to Manchester for a routine fitness test.

Well...

Berba didn't turn up to Spurs training this morning causing a big uproar about where he was. Turns out no-one at spurs trained this morning.

A SSN reporter then declared that because of Fergie's body language we were signing Berbatov in the next ten minutes (or something like that) and cocks were out a plenty.

Berbatov then magically was in manchester (possibly in Greggs). This led to speculation that he was having a medical at OT.

Then Spurs actual training session took place with Berbatov in tow and blew all the rumours out of the water leading to cocks all over the cafe to recede back into their trouser dwellings.

The end.

Definitely worst close season ever, especially after the crappy season we had last year....oh wait

I'm surprised no team is interested in Villa

He's very committed to Valencia, and they seem committed to keeping him. They are discussing a new contract as we speak. He's more likely to be given captaincy than transfered this summer. Which is a bit of a shame, because this summer is the most available he's been for years and it may not happen again.

Still, in staying I'm sure he can help turn Valencia into Spanish giants again.

Having said that, news in Spain was - when Villa's agent was talking about Spurs showing interest in him and bidding, Spurs decided against it feeling he was already on his way to Madrid. But we all know how deluded Spurs can be so perhaps theres not too much to read into it.

I've read a lot of posts saying things like "we only won the Prem and the CL last year". Granted it's true and we have been spoiled somewhat.....but whilst it's not quite the same, I'm sure that if you go on Rawk they cling on to previous trophies and are mocked on here because they live on past glories.

Yes, it was great and we should be celebrating but the simple fact is that transfer speculation and signings are exciting, hence the 585,000 views of this thread. I think there's a "muppet" inside all of us...in fact the term has been watered down in here as anybody declaring a wish for a player is branded one. Was wanting the signings of Rooney, Tevez, Rio, Ronaldo etc muppetry? You need quality signings on a constant basis, regardless of how good your team is and what you've won previously, if only to re-freshen the squad and stop the squad going "stale".

It's fine to get excited about transfers. I haven't been excited about on since Rooney, but obviously was pleased with all of the rest of them.

It's not fine to say that this was the worst close season ever, or this summer has been depressing. Our last competitive game was the Champions League final, and we won it. Hardly clinging to past glories, since we are still the holders of both the league and Champions League trophies.
