Chin up guys. The deal is not dead, Spurs want to sell, and United want to buy - perfect scenario for a resolution.

Just a quick refresher.

We've got the double winning squad intact.

Neville, Hargreaves and Saha will hopefully have better luck with injuries than the previous season.

Last seasons arrivals will be better for the experience.

Silva twins, and Possebon looking very good for a place in the first team squad.

We have the mighty O'shea.

Sults: Redcafe's own moral mascot!

Excellent points, Sults, (especially the bit about O'Shea) but they may well fall on deaf ears. Caftards just love to whine, you see.

I've noticed a certain irony throughout some of the more strident whinging in this thread. A lot of folk are complaining about how long we are taking to close this deal then, a few posts later, the same caftards start bleating about us getting ripped off.

What seems to escape them is that the reason this is dragging on so long is because the club is trying to avoid getting ripped off. You can't have your Greggs apple slice and eat it, folks.

i too am pleased with our squad. lots of players that were good enough to help us win the double last year have one more year experience and there is no reason why our key players can't be just as good if not better than they were last year. the likes of tevez and anderson have had a good preseason this year compared to last season too. but i still need a transfer fix regardless. i woke up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night last night screaming “dimitar!!!!!” i may or may not have had a bit of morning wood too. i am not at liberty to divulge that information.

Non of them are strikers Sults, apart from Saha who doesn't exist, it's all very depressing

Morning all,

I see there is a bit of doom and gloom on here this morning because no word on Berbatov yet, but you shouldn't be down, as no news doesn't mean the deal is off or anything.

I haven't spoke to my friend from London yet today, but I'll try to later on to see if he has any news.

The last 2 times I spoke to him he has maintained that a deal is in place with Spurs, but won't become official until they sign a replacement.

As of this morning Spurs seem to be closing in on Arshavin, so maybe this could be the signing to finally release Berbatov.

It's fine, I don't expect people to believe me, as I know full well there are plenty of numpties out there with ITK's.

I'm just passing on what my friend told me, as he does know more than the average bear, and I trust him.

My registered name is based on what he told me too.

That's all the news I have for now anyway guys, but looks like Friday is going to be a bumpy ride for us.

Is he one of those Spurs ITKs?

What you going to do if Berb's doesnt sign. Change your name?

Years ago, there was a poster on here called "Shearer9" - he too jumped the gun a little.

lol

Im still pretty confident the deal will happen, all in good time.

The desperation to have him signed before the deadline is way outta control. I mean if we cant be the barcodes at home with the squad we have then something is wrong.

As long as hes in and played a match or 2 by the time the dippers and rent boy games come then all is well

I agree. For once, we have to make stand of not betting bullied by the other side and overpay for the player.

Fairy muff.

How come he knows more than the average bear, by the way?

Unless we get him for £20 million we are over paying for him

What price a few league titles/CL titles in the time of his contract? The price you pay is dictated by the market, I have no doubt he'll prove to be excellent value if he signs for us.
