Bebe

 Then he wasn't unlucky to get into the Belgium NT.. I was just reading Januzaj making it and got confused, did he make it to Portugal? It's only Postiga and their young lad from the last WC that hasn't kicked on, who'd displace him?

Bebe's a winger not a striker.

Not really surprised he hasn't gone to the World Cup for us, although if it was between the two I'd pick him over Quaresma. Bebe's improved but he's still not good enough for us and don't think he ever will be, I know everyone would like to see him make it here after his tough start and whatever but it's highly unlikely and he'll end up back in Portugal either this summer or next I reckon.

it is either us or back in portugal for bebe. i just cannot see him playing for a championship side or any other team in england unless they got a few spanish speaking players or manager to make him fell homely. :)

glad to see him doing well at this moment. maybe this pre season van gaal can have a closer look and decides what to do with him. got to say at this moment i would take him over young actually. :wenger:

He obviously wasn't going to see action after that Crawley game for the rest of the 10/11 season. That performance coupled with his injury at Besiktas cemented his position as a running joke. He gradually built his confidence back with decent showings in the 12/13 pre-season and I think he had a couple of decent enough games last pre-season, I could be wrong on that last count though.

This loan has been fantastic for him. I just hope he can come back and prove everyone wrong.

What are you basing that on? His best form has been displayed while playing as a striker, and Quaresma didn't make the final cut did he?

I don't think either he'd get in the first XI, but surely you'd have a front 6 of:

Moutinho Veloso Meireles
Nani...Ronaldo
Postiga

For that, as a sub I'd have Bebé, Almeida & Varela

You realise Portuguese speak Portuguese, right?

Almeida/Postiga will be their main two, does anyone know much about the remaining? Is Varela the young Arsenmal lad that went to Spain a few years back? Zargoza or something? (Bloded I'm unsure of)

Carlos Vela? He's Mexican and was the top scorer outside of top 3 in La Liga for Sociedad. I think Arsenal will trigger the buy-back clause this summer.

That he's been played predominantly as a winger, at Paços too. Nah Quaresma ain't made the cut, just said that as someone said they thought he should be there ahead of Bebe.

I'd like to think Bento will pick Carvalho over Veloso and I think there's a good chance of him doing it. Up front it'll be a toss up between Almeida & Postiga, neither are a dead cert to start and neither are any good, think Almeida will get the nod.

Pacos are playing Aves tonight in the second leg of their relegation play-off. Kick-off is 20:15 UTC (no idea what that is in GMT, sorry). Also no idea if Bebe will be playing.

Of course he is. He is the star of the team. He scored the first goal. Winning 2-1 with 10 mins to go. Bébé will save Paços from relegation like i predicted.

Do you think they'll try for a permanent deal in the summer? I can't see us asking for much of a fee.

Bebe will end up a good player in the Portuguese league at the very least. Have you seen how well he's done this year?

No. Paços can´t afford any fee. They usually try to get loans and cheap south american players. I think he will probably be loaned to a club like Braga till United´s contract runs out.

And there it is...Bébe man of the match and Paços stays in top flight. Mission accomplished by Bébe, the Paços legend.

Only the things I've read on here. With just a year left on his contract, I expect a Portugese club might be able to get him for a relatively small fee this summer.

From our perspective, a small achievement but for Pacos fans and himself it must be pretty huge. Got a big dose of respect for this guy, for all the shit he's been through to becoming a little hero, fantastic stuff really.

i thought spanish and portuguese are about the same..my bad..huhu
They're similar, I think Spanish and Portuguese people can often understand each other. A couple of years ago Chicharito acted as translator when Anderson was being interviewed after a match, presumably because their languages are similar enough for them to communicate

Bebe hopes to convince Louis van Gaal that he can play a part at Manchester United after a successful season on loan at Pacos de Ferreira.

The Portuguese forward has been in fine form for Pacos and scored the opening goal in their relegation play-off against Desportivo das Aves to help secure the club's top-flight survival.

He has been loaned out three times, having previously had stints with Besiktas and Rio Ave, and feels he is a better player now than the one who struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford following his arrival in 2010.

And Bebe has set his sights on a place in Van Gaal's squad for next season as the new United manager considers his options.

"Now my objective is to go back to Man Utd to try and convince the new coach that I have a chance in the team," the 23-year-old told the Portuguese press.

Bebe has also been linked in the past few days with a switch to Benfica.

Part of me would like to see if he can make a go of it.

I'd love to see Bebe get given a chance under van Gaal next season. The past couple of seasons, whilst we've played against average opponents, he's stood out in pre-season. Be nice if he got given a chance, because from what I've heard and seen, he's really improved.

Good for him.

After reading all the posts on LvG's system, I think If he can work some magic with Bebe and Zaha, we might be not as bad off on the winger-front as we're made out to be.

Both good in possession, both fast enough that they can be used to force the opposition to sit deeper from the get go, which is worlds apart from not even having that option at all.

If he could fill a squad place as a winger/wide forward that would simplify van Gaal's overhaul of that area.

Both Nani and Valencia are "good in possession" and "fast enough". Certainly not obviously slower than Zaha or Bebe. Why do you think we haven't had that option at all?

Still only 23. The romantic in me would love to see him given a chance.

The realist knows he would be dreadful at Premier League level.

Well done Bebe! What an achievement to single handedly save a club from relegation. This from a guy who most saw as useless. However his career goes, he will be spoken fondly by Pacos supporters for years to come.

Does anybody know how he performed against the bigger clubs in Portugal this season?

Music to my ears. He impressed last time I saw him on tour, would love for him to be given another chance to prove the doubters wrong.

want to see him part of the travelling pre season team for a start.

i honestly believe bebe got this raw talent that with great coaching can turn out to be a very good player. we all know he is 2 or 3 years behind in terms his tactical awareness compare to other players of his age but he seems to have all the attributes that can make a good player. he is big, strong, quick, two footed, seems to be able to strike the ball like ronaldo now.

maybe the only think that can be the make or break for him at united under van gaal now is his mental strength.

his goals:eek::drool::eek::drool:

What a season he's had. If he didn't all ready play for us I wonder would the muppets be clamouring for us to sign him.

Some of the goals he scored are amazing. At least provides some justification for the fee we paid. Would love to see him get a Premiership loan at least until January so we can really assess his level

What the actual feck? Look at that video! Just look at it!

Is that the same guy who broke the Stretford End with his crosses against Wolves? I won't stand for it. No way.

Fair play to him, some of his goals were brilliant. Doubt it's enough for United but he can become a good player in the Portuguese League which is a big achievement already.

I'd love van Gaal to make Bebe his mini project.

He seems to have the natural ability and he strikes the ball very well, he just lacked the tactical awareness and composure in the games he played for the first team here.
