He's a young lad. He needs to find his legs at this level. In other circumstances we wouldn't have to put him in so quickly but ultimately this might bring him on quicker. He's snatching at everything in an attempt to make an impression which is making him look a far worse player than I'd wager he is.

I don't think I've seen a worse crosser in a United shirt. To be honest, I would be pleasantly surprised if he made it here as a winger.

He has hit plenty of high quality crosses though today they were consistently dreadful. I like Bebe but he was wretched today. Passing poor. Even his shot was struck straight at the keeper.

This is a real test of the quality of our coaching staff. He's basically a brilliant athlete with little footballing ability, if they can turn him into an effective player it'd be a great achievement. It'll be a little like the process Arsenal have gone through with Walcott.

Far too rushed today, just too nervous. Not a huge surprise in the circumstances. I think he'll be fine with some more games under his belt.

looked seriously lacking today. can only hope there is better to come but he looks some way off yet

Little footballing ability? The boy has loads of ability. He was just too nervous today. Nani had games like that early on but I don't remember anyone say he didn't know how to play football.

I don't know I think he has a lot more footballing ability than he showed today, even though everything went wrong for him today he showed he has a classy first touch but I do agree he need's to be honed in training. He doesn't seem like a cocky one so it's going to be up to the coaches to coax it out of him as you have said.

He was like one of us.... picked from the crowd.... handed a shirt and told "get on there son, enjoy yourself".

One of the most inept performances since Souness signed Ali Dia.

And we beat a premiership team with that line up.... mad.

That's pushing it.

Beyond the crosses I didnt see anything below Premier League standard from him.

That's a bit harsh, Mike. He's a young lad who hasn't played at anywhere near this level before. I bet even things like crowd noise are unsettling to him as he hasn't had to play before crowds like this before.

He's got two good feet from what I've seen, albeit his final ball needs some work, but it's far too early to decide what he is and isn't.

He made some schoolboy errors today.. I m sure that he can do a lot better as he s shown in other games.

Walcott's a good comparison.

At times he didn't look like a footballer, and certainly not a winger, with his shit deliveries and composure.

Turned it around though.

IMO a loan would do him a world of good. Hope today's a lesson and doesn't get him down too much.

To be fair 3 or 4 months ago he was homeless. Today he played football in front of 70,000+ people... these sorts of things take time. He's only young after all.

Thats true but then again what is he doing here?? I'm sure he would have developed alright if we had left him in portugal we didn't need to sign him.

*However on a personal level i hope the kid grasps the opportunity he's worked really hard to get to where he is on a slightly different level to most players*

Switch him to the left.

I told you his crossing was poor.

 from all the games you've seen him in.. how many games is that again? Yeah he was pretty awful today, but he's shown in other games that he can whip in decent crosses.

I personally didn't think we'd see him in a Man Utd shirt for at least a year or two.

I'm thinking that either SAF has been impressed with him in training, or that injuries have meant that he's had to play.

Either way it is obvious he has talent, but is very raw, and needs time.

You could clearly see today that he was homeless not so long ago. It's obvious he's used to playing with a rock or a trash bin, where he needed a lot more power to kick them than he does now with a proper ball.

Nani has always had truckloads of ability. I don't believe anyone ever doubted that.

So what happened to him today then? havnt seen the game myself yet so cant judge but reading some of the comments he was rather horrific?

Basically he had really great opportunities to put in a good ball but just blasted them in a bizarre way which actually surprised me.

Put too much power in all the crosses, actually if he could just square them normally, Hernandez was waiting for them but he just blasted them out with no chance whatsoever, at times to me it was more like Bebe' was shooting rather than crossing.

Nevertheless, the movement to get on the ball was good, but it was that final touch which let him down, also had a shot on goal too and mainly a few bad passes.

Fergie subbed him on and off, that's the ultimate humiliation for a player and says a lot about his performance today.

That was one Richardson's,Bellion's and the likes performance today. Really crap.

However that's his first (you may call it even a start) Premiership game where he played more than just 10 mins. He was nervous as Obertan was midweek. He's only going to get better. He should put this performance behind him(as should we) and move on.

Yes, 1 in 10 success rate.

Similar to calling Anderson a great passer, because one comes off every now and then.

I think Bebe can do well, but not wide right.

Meh. Considering how shite we were overall can't really expect much more than he did today to be honest.

Needs to learn to cross though. I don't know, do United eventually see him as a striker or a winger? Looks more like a winger.

he was poor, but he wouldve played out the game had we not conceded.
The point being he wasnt so bad that his presence on the pitch became a hindrance. That would've been far worse.
A striker had to be brought on and he was the poorest of the front 4

I expected him to be an impact sub for now and him on the bench suggested that as well. Was surprised to see him come on so early, but we didnt have too many options either.

He'll put it behind him and learn from it

I have a number of opinions and questions regarding his transfer but they're irrelevant now.

What I will say is that this lad IS NOT A WINGER. He's got a bit of skill getting past a man, and can shoot with power, but his crossing is BELOW academy level and his decision making from the flanks is SHOCKING.

I don't ever want to see Fergie put this young boy out on the flanks, it's pointless.

The way he repeatedly tried to cross the ball in that bizarre fashion showed that he hasn't yet learnt the correct technique in striking a football. It's not as if he was striking the ball correctly but just with too much power; he was not using the right technique.

His touch and control of the ball looks okay, it's his passing, crossing (and probably shooting) ability which needs a lot of work.

Everytime he put the cross in, you'd wonder someone might be injured on the pitch and he was just trying to help...

Guys let us also not forget he is still working hard to get his fitness levels up to where they should be.

I agree with the statement but he has a little more footballing ability than I think is being given to him.

I think he's going to be class. He's raw as feck and his end product was obviously terrible today, but there's something about the way he attacks defenders with the ball that just says Billy Big Time to me.

feck it, that's as good as a kiss of death. Another Liam Miller it is then.

so many people make their minds up after 80 minutes...he was poor when he came on but he was playing in a 'new team', there was no one to guide him and sometimes you have bad games. That's it. All the evidence before suggested he has footballing ability and that he can cross but we had only Hernandez up top and no great runner from midfield AND no one diciplined on the other wing to attack the far post

He had a shitter and that's all it was. His crossing up till nows been fine but the team were nervious, the fans were nervious and it didn't work out today.

I really felt for him today, he looked like he had just scored an own goal everytime he blasted a cross into orbit. He looks very very raw. I'm not sure whether he will be good enough but we need to be patient with one like him. I will say that he is good athlete. Needs to work on the technical areas of his game a lot.

couldn't believe how many crosses he fecked up today, it was unreal...he does have some ability and it will suit him better to be on the left or even in behind the striker.
