UEFA seem to have put Bebe's goal down as our old friend OGs.

Yeah seeing the goal again it did take a big deflection. Feel bad for the lad though. He was genuinely ecstatic.

He looks clumsy with the ball and running with it, like his feet intending to do one thing and his mind telling him to do another. Perhaps it's the initial excitement that got to him playing for the first team. If Obertan and him come on nicely in the next couple of years, we will have another pair of very good wingers.

So, after another promising display, I hope the journos and the fans give him and the staff time and be patient. Good that he made them shut up for now

When he was went to celebrate with Hernandez, everyone on the bench and the coaching staff had an 'awww' smile on their face. Nice moment.

From what I have seen from Journos, I think they are giving him a chance. They see the raw ability. Helps that he has scored a couple of early goals.

Not when we bought him. They said Fergie has lost it and that is a farce that United buy a player like that.

Thats the reason why Fergie cancelled some media interviews as well.

cant argue with the impact he's had on his last couple of appearances even though he does look really clumsy, at times, to me

his physical attributes are impressive though and i've no doubt we're gonna develop him into a battering ram of a player, just someone to barge/speed past a fullback and smack the ball goalwards/into the box

could become a real weapon for us

The whole Bebe thing is genius.

We saw from last season that Own Goals was one of our top scorers, so now we've bought a player that will somehow manage to claim all the Own Goals.

That's because none else cared to get off their asses to celebrate the goal with Bebe.

Now I've got the mental image of Fergie sat on the bench going "oh feck's sake, he's coming over here. Get and give him a hug and tell him to bugger off, Javier"

Bebe is an athlete he looks like an oversized Walcot - but with power.

Bebe plays without the limitations that perhaps set in when players are developed through academies. He has that gung ho mentality of just trying to get at the other team.

He does look clumsy but then he shows some nice touches - alot of this can be put down to excitement and eagerness.

The thing is he cost £7m and even in 3 years whether he makes it or not we could still offload him for a few million so its really not much of a risk.

I think he may become more effective down the centre. He reminds me also of Drogab when he came - he looked like an oaf with no skill but has developed himself into an awesome player.

I dont see how he looks clumsy on the ball, he looks dynamic in my opinion and maybe a bit busy with his feet but certainly not clumsy. Glad to see him get a goal, nice finish.

Bebe is proving too fast and too strong not to make a name for himself at Manchester United

The recent performance put in by Bebe on his Champions League debut, against Bursaspor, was reminiscent of the way 'Chicharito' has risen up the ranks at Manchester United.

Both players joined the club during the summer, and both have given credence to Sir Alex Ferguson’s recent comments that even Wayne Rooney would have to fight for his place in the squad when he returns from injury.

But the rise of ‘Chicharito’ masks the one important thing that proves how swiftly the Portuguese forward has upped his game.

Bebe played for a third division side in Portugal before making a £7 million move to United. Only, unlike his Mexican team-mate, his learning curve did not include a pre-season with the Old Trafford outfit.

September 22: Debut against Scunthorpe United in the League Cup

Sixteen minutes before time, Manchester United fans got their first glimpse of Bebe, as he came on for Park Ji-Sung after the Red Devils had a three-goal cushion.

The Portuguese hitman had to wait a while to get his first touch on the ball, but did not struggle to find his footing when he did have the ball at his feet. A fierce shot deflected away for a corner proved to be his contribution as Sir Alex Ferguson's men - although led by Mike Phelan on the night - ran out 5-1 winners against the Championship side.

October 2: Premier League debut against Sunderland

He replaced Anderson for the last 10 minutes of the goalless draw with the Black Cats, but didn’t have the time to make a significant impact on the game. He didn’t see too much of the ball, but the lively runs were a sign of things to come.

United were criticised following the draw as it was another sign of their inability to beat 'weaker opposition' away from home in the league this season, but Bebe could not be to blame after only making his late cameo.

October 26: First start, first goal

The 20-year-old got a partially lucky goal in his first start for the club, in a League Cup tie against Wolves. His shot took a deflection from George Elokobi to end up over the line, but it was his darting runs and fleet-footed play that captivated the crowd on the day.

However, he was substituted with less than 10 minutes to go, as Javier Hernandez came on and stole the show by scoring a fantastic goal that proved to be the winner.

November 2: Champions League debut

Bebe made his first appearance on the European stage, and came on after a little over an hour as Darren Fletcher made way. The youngster latched onto a well disguised pass from Paul Scholes and scored with a single touch of the ball (Uefa have since decided to award this as an own goal).

In essence, Bebe took two all too short appearances to get himself accustomed to the challenging environment, and picked himself up, sharpened his trade, and managed to score his first goal in his first start for the club.

The one against Bursaspor at the Ataturk Stadium (despite being branded an own goal) only served to add further proof that the young 20-year-old forward is picking things up as he goes along. Opponents may shudder to think of what he can be in a couple of years.

Nice article on our Bebe.

The new Tevez and Park/Evra

Pfft, language barrier. Portuguese and Spanish are so closely related that it's natural that Chicharito would be among the candidates for initial buddy.

edit: or a joke went over my head, whatevs.

Not read all the most recent posts but, wonder if the reason Bebe celebrated with Chicha is that the two of them have got closer in that they were the two players brought in this summer (and Smalling) and the whole Rooney questioning ambition.

Both have been contributing goals leading up to much needed wins.

Nice to see though wonder how they talk - are Spanish/Portuguese anything alike?
