Having spent the last six days digesting the probable Mourinho outcome I'm fine with it.
Bring him in.
2/3 max seasons of winning to Chelsea-like performance the next? I'd rather not. Whatever the reasons or circumstances, he turned a league-winning team into a team struggling to keep out of the relegation zone, mostly because of his toxic personality. Not only that but I'd rather not see him shit from a great height over our current youth prospects. Maybe winning isn't everything to all of us, if I cringe every time I think of our manager that takes a lot of enjoyment away from supporting for me.you're crazy
you seriously want us to languish outside the top 4 for another season just because you don't like jose's personality? I don't understand this kind of mentality
when we start winning again everyone is going to love the guy.

hahaIt's not like he punched his own fans or anything...
Agree about the legacy part, I guess we will have to wait and see if he ever achieves that though I think Wenger may be the last of a dying breed in that respect.haha
Clough built a legacy though (for a while...) whereas again I don't see Jose doing that - he doesn't stay for long. Although if you just want a short term fix till he does something stupid and has to be fired then...
I can see what you're getting at - but hell no. One is a cnut - the other was a lovable rogue.Agree about the legacy part, I guess we will have to wait and see if he ever achieves that though I think Wenger may be the last of a dying breed in that respect.
I think Clough and Jose are quite similar though, personality wise. Do you not think?
Don't have the will to fight it and it looks like the sensibleBring him in.
I accepted that eventuality when Ancelotti signed for Bayern, but I never hated him so it wasn't too hard. And I really don't understand the hatered, he is tiring with all his whining but that's not hate worthy.
Both of them would walk over anyone, even close friends in order to get success. That's what I'm getting at.I can see what you're getting at - but hell no. One is a cnut - the other was a lovable rogue.
Clough was charismatic - Jose is charismatic at times for all of the wrong reasons.
Don't get me wrong he is a great manager - just as an outsider (me) I don't see him fitting in with United. Then again Van Gaal is so shit that it's worth the risk!

Yes, this is exactly what happen with Mourinho every single time he went there. Let's ignore first stint at Chelsea where they remained competitive for years after he left even with a joker like Grant in charge, or Real Madrid job where they won CL the season after he left. He ruins clubs, you know. Completely destroys them, it's only ashes after he goes. Poisonous.
I actually don't remember this.Remember that time SAF tried to eye gouge someone? Yeah, me neither.

Don't care.
Oh I know about that. I thought you meant SAF did it.

Fair enough. I do.
Did he poke your eye out, too?
Maybe he'd kick a boot at your face if you lose.He might if I beat him in a cup final.

For me its like being asked if I want to wear a colostomy bag.I've warmed to the idea of jose. Im not sure if thats because it looks like a certainty that he's coming and my biased mind has therefore decided it's a good thing, or whether the actual need for a top manager has become even more apparent since city announced the pep deal, but I was firmly in the 'no' camp a few weeks ago whereas now I wouldn't mind.
My biggest concern though, is that I wonder if he is still a manager that the top players want to play for. A few years ago he was someone that they all wanted to play under, with the odd exception, but I worry that his behaviour over the past few years has alienated him a little bit. If we go head to head with city for a player, for example, is that player going to prefer to play for Pep or Jose?
For me its like being asked if I want to wear a colostomy bag.
The initial answer is a definite no. But if you think about it, come to terms with the fact you have a serious illness and think about the alternatives, you are likely to conclude that actually you do quite want one after all. Its not something you feel like shouting from the rooftops about, but you are looking forward to being able to go out in public and get back to something like normal.
Mourinho is our colostomy bag.

It was obvious before that. When his Madrid team knocked us out of the CL, SAF looked like a man who knew that was his last shot at another CL trophy and José came out for his post game interview talking about the best team lost etc, bigging up United and SAF, that was the moment I knew the great man was retiring. This was always a question of when not if. It's so bloody obvious mourinho has been wet for the job ever since Ferguson announced his retirement, we were just waiting for the club to decide to bring him which is what ultimately seems to be happening now. In truth, we appointed him 3 years too late.

The worst thing about Mourinho is the Crohnies he'll bring with him.For me its like being asked if I want to wear a colostomy bag.

The latter I would imagine,I thought it was quite poor from City tbh.I'm wondering how this is going to be delivered (if it is true). Will Van Gaal end up doing a Pellegrini-style press con announcing his departure or are United going to try keeping a lid on this until the end of the season?
Nicely done. The worst thing about Mourinho is the Crohnies he'll bring with him.
