Would you be happy to see Jose Mourinho become next United manager?

Don't give a shite about Mourinho but the size of the task on our future manager isn't much bigger than Pep's.

With all due respect, if it were true (i.e. he feels he can put his name to this rumor) it will be all over his twitter as some sort of exclusive instead of him passing the news to you to pass it on.

Also I'm suspicious of people who follow 28k people.

This is what it comes down to. If he is happy for you to talk about it, quote his name etc, why wouldn't he want to be the one to break it

This. Imagine you have exclusive news. Would you not post it first and claim credit and build up reputation? What is the point keeping it to yourself and let other know secretly? That doesn't sound right.

Folks don't shoot the messenger, I'm simply passing on what Oier told me. He gave me permission to pass it on and if you want to ask him then go ahead and do so on Twitter. His source sounds very well-informed.

To be honest I'm past caring if LVG stays one more year or not. The one thing that concerns me is if Giggs takes over, that would be a carcrash.

Yeah see what happens when you try to add fuel to the fire?:D

Personally the message feels wrong as it just doesn't sound like Maureen and many are right, where is he going to go as all the top jobs are taken next year. Think he would relish going head to head against Pep. He would just park the bus rather than walk away from that fight.

I hope it´s wrong too mate. i´m not trying to add fuel to the fire, just passing on what someone else in the media industry has told me.

If that was true Mourinho would have ruled himself out a long time ago.

Indeed.
He ruled himself out of Inter Milan and the Syria jobs fairly quickly.
But he never ruled out MUFC (in fact if the reports are true, Jose's camp are urging MUFC to announce him and make it official).
PSG are sticking with Blanc.
I think Madrid and MUFC are his only options at the top level.
Of course, there is always the option of managing a club like Porto...then winning the CL with them.

He follows 28k people. When are you posting the screenshot?

He shared it with me buddy.

Mourinho's just getting his excuses in early as he knows we're going to keep Van Gaal. "They didn't reject me, I rejected them".

Don´t want to come across as an ITK, but a friend of mine, a Spanish journo contact of mine, Oier Fano Dadebat (@oierfano), just messaged me on twitter and he says Mourinho is NOT coming.

Oier says he got the info of a contact of his, who´s a member of the footballing fraternity in Spain. He's done interviews with lots of footballers over there.

Apparently it's actually Mourinho who doesn't want to come, as he realises he's got a huge job on his hands and doesn´t want another struggle after Chelsea. The fact that Guardiola is going to City, with much better players, would make the task harder for him. But Oier says the exact reason isn't for sure.

Who are these players?

Even if City had Bayern or Barcelona's squad, Mourinho would still want to come to United this summer to put Pep in his place. Where else is he going to get an unlimited transfer budget in his preferred league?

The only other options open to him at the moment are PSG, and there's no indication that's happening, or waiting till after the Euros for an international job, which he'd hate compared to club management.

At least your friend can write off this contact as an idiot who knows nothing.

I´m not posting the screenshot mate. Demanding someone do something over and over again doesn´t mean they´ll do it for you.

Why can't you post the screenshot?

Why post something like that then say I'm not trying to be ITK and then not post the proof to verify it.

If true then we are screwed
Doesn't sound true at all. Someone who's managed Real Madrid (with the arguably best club side of all time as the opposition) , Chelsea and Inter Milan is too scared to come here because of Man City?

It's a load of absolute codswallop, amazing what some people will believe.

Taking over City is a much harder job than taking over United at this point in time, and that's a fact.

Half their squad are earmarked for disposal, their best two players are sick notes, and they're still only on the edge of meeting homegrown quotas.

I am going to get this ITK to follow me. Thus meaning he will be my friend and contact.

The only thing I can think of is if united are trying to micromanage him (Giggs as assistant, butt as head of youths etc). Mou only signed with inter when assured that branca won't mess in his work

And above all guys we underrate our team alot, City have been piss poor in the league, with a bit of luck and favorable draws they are in semi's and in the league twice we played them once we drew and were the better side, and we beat them away. People just don't realize we have a good young players in Martial, Rashford, Fosu Mensah and Jackson, i would also add Janujaz and Perriera i still believe they have been ignored by Van gaal.

We just need an experienced Striker and a Winger someone like Zlatan and Griezmann along with a Cb and a Rb we will be good to go. Its not that big a rebuilding job as people make it out to be. The only reason we are in this position is because of a dumb manager who sold senior players and didn't replace them, and we are left with young players who i believe are going to be stars but it shouldn't have led to this situation where we had to depend on them this much.

This squad had just 3 top quality players

If van Gaal wins us the FA Cup I'm not sure I can see us having the balls to sack him for Jose, it will have to be mutual and his latest comments about seeing out his three year contract is a concern. We have stuck with him so far, we aren't going to sack him if he wins us a trophy on his last game of the season, no chance. Mendes and Mourinho leaking any interest from us may have backfired here.

Hopefully van Gaal will want to leave on a high at Wembley but in reality he has said for a while it's a process and he needs three years her and we all know how stubborn he is. Don't know what to think about this at all anymore, we aren't going to suddenly sack him if we win the cup that's for sure, if it isn't going to be a mutual parting of ways he will probably stick around and be here next season.

Doubt he would care about butt as head of youths, might as well be head of the broom closet with Mourinho in charge

.
Why will he have an unlimited transfer budget? We aren't going to keep up the spending of the last few years forever. We have v tight owners who loosened the purse strings because their team is slipping down the rankings, but as soon as we show stability again that will stop. Don't forget in SAFs final 10 years we spent a net 18m on players per year. That is their level of ambition as long as we are safely in the CL and not losing fans

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but this is basically the Oier Dadebat/JohnnyKills situation:

The Caf: Oier Fano Dadebat! Sends YOU a direct message! Alledging that Mourinho doesn't want the job! And it's ENTIRELY in Spanish?

JohnnyKills: Yes.

The Caf: May I see it?

JohnnyKills: No.

So long as we stay in the CL and remain competitive in the league, I think our transfer spending per season will typically top £100m. Will be necessary to stay in contention, because Real/City/PSG will be spending exactly the same year on year. With the new tv deals alone signing any player from a PL club is going to be twice as expensive as it is now.

Whatever happens in the future, there's definitely going to be a huge budget this summer, whoever is manager.

We aren't in the CL though and West Ham look more likely to get there than us. Two out of three seasons is unthinkable for this club.
