Be surprised/depressed if it was that low but I saw it posted a little while back that they'd extended renewal date or something like that?

I cancelled my two memberships today and while on the phone I was informed the st renewals have been extended to June the 7th, just thought I'd post the info.:)

Utd wont come out and confirm or deny the LVG and Mourinho stuff because there is no need. Cant deny every single rumour.
Either the British media and that Portugese paper will be right.
Or arguably the most reliable Dutch journo will be right.

The Jose rumours have been constant for a few months

Utd and lvg could have put these to bed long ago. the lack of any response at all especially from the club speaks volumes

They actually denied any link with pep within 24 hours when he was briefly linked in November

I think I should take the advice to shut up :) I will however disclose how I know when its official.

That's what I would do.

As it stands, the way you come across is someone who says "it's a fact" in a field where others say "it's likely". And that is...well, I'm sure you know what it is: If it for some reason or other doesn't actually come to pass, you'll look like an utter idiot.

And when Maureen is announced, you won't be hailed as a prophet (obviously), so the only possible thing to mention there will be - precisely, and in detail - why you actually knew it.

No offence, mate - just commenting on the fact that you've become an ITK on here, as perceived by others.

Just PM a trusted mod with the info and then have that Mod vindicate when it all happens.

Wouldn't work. Mourinho wouldn't be able to trust someone waiting to take over his 'job' - if indeed Mourinho is the manager. Hell, I wouldn't trust Giggs. The situation is too uncomfortable.

Moreover, Giggs has learnt enough as an assistant imho. What he needs now is to put into practice what he's learnt. He needs to understand what it feels like to be 100% responsible for a team. You can't learn that by sitting by someone's side for years - you need to test yourself or you'll never be ready for management. And not because LVG hasn't worked out for us, doesn't mean he has nothing to teach Giggs. It all depends on Giggs himself, and whether or not he committed to learn.
I can't claim to know how or what Mourinho thinks and I am not really that paranoid about Giggs.

Some might find it hilarious but the leak from Morrati's daughter is the best one for me. It came out of nowhere and was something neither United or Jose's camp could control(unlike twitter/journo leaks). If I remember correctly, the twitter media cycle went dead silent for weeks after that story broke.

Me too. Like, wear an adult diaper, gurlllllllllll!

How many more times can the same news be rehashed? They've got so much mileage out of this story

Yet millions of our fanbase will click on the link and read them, making them money with clicks and ad revenues..

One can understand why they keep doing it.. We're desperate and they're making money off the uncertainty.. That latest telegraph article has zero new information.. They're stealing a living..:(

Miguel Delany made the point that the club isn't too plaesed with Mourinho's camp telling every journalist they have an agreement when in the club's view, nothing is decided.

I get the impression that LVG thinks he is going nowhere. Either he has been assured or he is about to get the rug pulled from under him. I cant see Jose waiting another year to manager though.
Moyes was acting the same before he got sacked. Pretty sure LVG will leave this summer

So, according to Ducker:
- Agreement in principle with Mourinho, but nothing signed.
- Chances of Van Gaal staying beyond the summer are slim, regardless of what happens in the final weeks of the season.
- Mourinho is already making plans about the squad.
- The club gave Van Gaal every opportunity to turn things around and change the fortunes as no one at the club wanted to sack him in the middle of the season as it'd have ruined our reputation of being supportive and patient.
- Giggs hasn't given up hope (entirely) of succeeding Van Gaal, but it's extremely unlikely.
- Deal for Renato Sanches is expected to happen; Strong interest in Stones; We've been offered the chance to sign Kroos; Interest in Griezmann (expected to sign a new deal shortly with an increased release clause), Ibrahimovic and Aubameyang dependant on the managerial situation.

I don't really consider myself an lvg fan by the way

Not that you were to know, but I would have been one of the more critical of him and woody last summer and last season. I didn't see any direction and their business was scatterbrained. I thought the window was pretty awful whereas most on here were hailing it as the best ever

It really wasnt until he started playing the kids that he won me around. I don't know how he fell into this situation, by chance or whatever. But the fact is, he is standing by them and the this group coming through is about the closest I have seen since the early to mid 90's.

I would sacrifice another year without a title challenge for sure if it meant all the young lads got played again next season
That's the thing though Randall buddy, I feel Mourinho will come in and use the best aspects of this season, keep De Gea, play the youth and give a more settled eleven to what we are used to. I doubt he will win the league next year so that is you're season with out a challenge right there but with a better manager. I am delighted the young players have come through and anyone that our new manager signs will have serious compitition for their place which was always a good thing with this club. In theory we had a good window last summer but the tactics and preparation has let them down a bit.

If we don't sign Mou this summer then he won't be available next summer, and neither will Ancelotti or Pep. It is also doubtful if Pochettino would be available.

The board better have a good candidate such as Simeone lined up for the 17/18 season if they don't hire Mou this summer and persists with LvG for another year.

If anyone's ever been curious as to what LVG looks like when brushing his teeth and watching Mourinho speculation on TV in the morning:

Maybe he knows but he acts so squad dont get relaxed.

It's exactly what happened. He had good sparks here and there but overall was very hit and miss till the post World Cup season (06/07) when he suddenly went up a gear. Till then he was extremely frustrating. It was selfishness but more madness thinking that he can do everything on his own.

Plus he didn't get worse at all. Definitely more positive games since he was benched and then was given a rare start against Arsenal and midtjylland and all. Definitely more well drilled and disciplined. He definitely deserves another season at the very least.

Nah, make a thread about Ronaldo debut vs Memphis debut you'll get laughed at suggesting Ronie is as bad as memphis

What else can he do, a total blowout meltdown will get him sacked this very moment and rightly so. There's nothing a sacked manager can do these days, I'm sure there are clause that enables employer to terminate the contract given they paid the severance package.

In your initial post you wrote 'Ronnie was a hit from the start'. which couldn't be further from the truth. Someone posted comments on the caf from then where people say the very same things they say of Memphis now.

Sky Sports are apparently reporting no deal has been reached with Jose?..

"Sky Sports News HQ understands no agreement has been reached between Manchester United and Jose Mourinho over the manager's job at Old Trafford.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss is reportedly keen on the post should United look to replace Louis van Gaal in the summer.

Speculation continues to surround Van Gaal's future despite the Dutchman leading United to their first FA Cup final for nine years and with them still in contention for a place in next season's Champions League."

Go ahead dig up, people were praising his talent with a little but and if only at the end. Compare them with memphis thread.

Young talent deserves some time, but there has to be a line as to how long before they're proven to be a fail purchase. Some players proven their doubters wrong (fletcher eg) but for one fletcher there's alot more players that we sold and rightly so.

Heck people even still think rooney at his old age still has the potential to become scholes... Potential... Dear me

There is no doubt LVG fell into playing the kids but credit where due but I'm thinking how many kids are we actually talking about here for next season? TFM and Rashford? As Wilson, Adnan, Love, Varella, Blackett, BJ and Pierera have never been seen again. Jesse is 23 and not a kid. So TFM and Rashford? Do we really expect those two to be nailed starters next year? Is it worth keeping LVG so these two play? Id rather sign Jose and let him transform the whole squad.

Sky Sports are utterly worthless, they just read Twitter.

Absolutely nothing new then. And not committing to saying it's actually going to happen.

Don't know whether it's true or not but a newbie posted that less than 4000 season tickets have been renewed.
Seriously? So not even the offer of a limited edition scarf is enough to make some fickle people forget the last 3 years?
