If we win the FA Cup it makes us Arsenal, nothing more. Is that good enough?

Do you know what you even saying? How it makes us Arsenal? How its even same situation? Arsenal didnt win it for 9 years, just to win it 2 times in a row recently, while being under same manager,so they were stable in that regard. If we win FA cup,it means we won first trophy(regardless if you see FA cup like a joke or not) 3 years after greatest manager ever retired. Never mind how good SAF was,the shock squad suffered after retirement, all what happened during Moyes and LvG reign and so on.

I find first proper trophy after SAF really important, maybe some or most wont agree with me. So no,we wouldnt not be like Arsenal (if we win it),they waited 9 years under same manager, while we might wait 3 after everything what happened post SAF.

There 2014/2015. I am not saying he is bad finisher, but he is considered new for the position. That's not a bad record. Not to compare who is better, but James Wilson had always been groomed as forward, and his scoring ratio was much better for U18 level.
Rashford has always been viewed as a forward. I dont know why you think otherwise. He played there in his first season in our youth team and also in this seasons games in the youth side. 3 seasons in our youth teams as a forward. Sure you arent getting him mixed up with another player?

Because, erm, it would be a massive story and I'm sure everyone wants to be the first to break it. Generally how journalism works. Which brings me back to my original point; I don't think anything has yet been decided, hence why no one has got any exclusive on this. The story changes on a near daily basis.

You could surmise that this is because all the noise on the story is coming from Mourinho's end, Van Gaal's end, or the pro-Giggs camp. The club are staying completely silent. It seems Van Gaal, Giggs and Mourinho have at one time or another all been given mutually exclusive and conflicting assurances regarding their positions for next season and beyond, and that's why the story has appeared to have multiple twists, lurching each week from one outcome to another on the basis of which camp is doing the briefing. In this regard, the club seem to have learnt their lessons from the Moyes debacle, where off-the-record briefings ended up causing massive embarrassment. Nobody knows the outcome, apart from the key decision makers, less than a handful of people.

I did not watch yout team closely, but the little I saw he played more as wide man, not traditional winger, more like wing forward I think.

We havent won the league since 2004?? Wow I must have been on a glorious trip.

See this is the sort of shit Im talking about .
I think he means in terms of accepting our fate and not holding the club to a high standard which is a sure way of confining ourselves in the cesspit of mediocrity.

No new press/tweets? MourinhOFF. :(
You should do what I do 2-3 times a day at least when I feel uncomfortable about MourinhOFF. Go to Google, type 'Jose Mourinho' and search for articles for past hour or past 24 hours. Invariably there will be articles by 'Daily Express', 'Daily Star' etc, in block letters with headlines starting with 'REVEALED' or 'EXCLUSIVE' on how it is a done dealio. I don't open the article and don't give them the sought traffic but it gives me satisfaction that it is still MourinhON.
Once in a while they say it is OFF but then immediately put new article stating it is ON again. Thing of beauty.

My reply to Ramscock, copied and pasted. It applies here :

Arsenal won the FA Cup the last 2 years and that's the extent of their achievements. Winning the FA Cup should be no more than a step along the way to greater things, not an end in itself.

Maybe you think differently though, and are satisfied with a lower level of achievement.

Yet you said this?
"As winger. Very new to forward position and was not highly rated for his scoring/shooting." which is simply wrong

On your glorious trip you completely missed the point. Arsenal won the FA Cup the last 2 years and that's the extent of their achievements. Winning the FA Cup should be no more than a step along the way to greater things, not an end in itself.

First off we havent won it yet and secondly why would winning it signal that we are heading to be like Arsenal?

@Raoul If I did that Id get a 2 day slap on the wrist right?

Apologize then, but please clarify, did he play central before u18 time last year. Remember drag wide more than being central. Scholes even compare him to C.Ronaldo for some reasons.

What the feck, how your claim that if we win FA cup this year makes Arsenal turned into anything related to our future after winning that FA cup (if we win it)!?

Yeah, this is spot on. The problem the media have is that they don't have a clue so they are clutching at straws and drawing stories up from basically nothing. If it is a case that Mourinho is signed up to come in at the end of the season, then the club have done a fantastic job keeping such a massive story under wraps. All that the media have to go on at the minute is pure speculation.

We haven't won the FA Cup since 2004. It's about time. And who knows it might even have a similar effect as the League Cup did in 2006 when we won a trophy again after a long 1.8 years or something trophy drought.
Anyway it gave us something to celebrate again and the belief we can win more trophies with that squad.

They won't announce shit. They'll just carry on as they are and before you know it, the season will have started and LVG will still be here.

Exactly. As LvG is contracted for another year, the club are under no obligation whatsoever to release any statement if LvG is staying on. It will just be business as usual. I guess if nothing has happened pretty soon after the FA Cup Final, then it will most likely mean that LvG is staying on.

And during the summer, when there are no matchday fans around who might protest.

The fans will protest by not buying season tickets. I dont expect an announcement until top 4 is mathematically out of reach. If/when it is and there is no announcement then will i get a little edgy. After that if there is no announcement within a week of Fa cup final i will assume he stays and tear my hair out one by one. Then make a voo-doo doll of eward woodward and burn its backside every day.

Don't know whether it's true or not but a newbie posted that less than 4000 season tickets have been renewed.

Be surprised/depressed if it was that low but I saw it posted a little while back that they'd extended renewal date or something like that?

So, basically, we will need to watch what Jose does.
As soon as he signs for his new club, we will know what our plans are.
I am still 99.5% sure he will sign for us.

This must be a huge concern for the board. FA Cup or not, fans are voting with their feet. If LVG stays, you'll see swathes of empty seats from game one at OT next season and the atmosphere will be poisonous unless we get off to a flying start. The sponsors won't be happy seeing their logo flashed around a stadium only three-quarters full either.

4000 season tickets ? well he got that from redissue.

Red Issue reported that around 3800 (i think) had been sold. Very poor return but what can the club expect? I'm over the moon that people have chose not to renew, We needed to make a statement to the board and this very well does it.

Wow, only? How many season tickets is the maximum, like 50000?

I wonder who else would have been considered for the job if the majority of the board were "men of football" and not economists. Woodward & Co probably see Mourinho as a quick fix who can bring good results short term and they most likely dont have any problem getting closer to Mendes as he will provide them with top class players as long as they pay enough, which they will. Personally I think people like SAF, Charlton etc. would have considered Giggs first of all but also the likes of Pochettino, Tuchel(Dortmund), Schmidt(Leverkusen) and de Boer(Ajax) which would have been exciting choices. Bigger gamble but such a choice would imply that there would be some more long term vision.

IIRC it's in the 40k, so my guess is that it's a typo and the club registered 38k season tickets.

United have around 55,000 season ticket holders. Do ye honestly believe that 51,000 of them arent renewing? Fans that have had tickets for years? Especially with all the rumours of Mourinho coming in?

Either whoever wrote that is a blatent liar or its simply because holders have another month to renew. Why ye are even entertaining that rubbish is beyond me.

We tried that with Moyes and it didn't work out
