Schneiderlin will come good for us, of that I'm certain. Shaw and Herrera are very promising, especially Shaw. I kind of like the idea of Schweinsteiger and the wealth of experience he brings, cheap for a player of that caliber regardless of age. Darmian is another Buttner, a good squad member who has a really good season in him somewhere. Memphis has been utter shite, I don't rate him at all and doubt he has it in him to be successful in this league. We will probably sell him to someone like Stuttgart where he will have a few good seasons and sign for Chelsea for 35mil and we will be told how LVG was a genius and we were stupid to get rid of him. Rojo, meh, easily bought easily sold. Valdes and Romero, I really don't know what we were thinking messing around with Valdes, no difference between lindegaard and Romero.
All in all not too bad for the last three terrible seasons we have had, throw in Mata and Fellaini, decent enough. Our problem has been two fold, a guy taken to the cleaners on transfers and two managers just not good enough for a level we aspire to return to. Ed is learning fast and with someone like Mourinho we will have a formidable combination on and off the pitch once again.

It's bad, to be honest, people are nitpicking about Jose's selling Lukaku (while he won the bloody league with Costa as top scorer), but they forgot that LVG purchase is way worse.

None of the purchases he made pass with a 6, let alone flying color (bar Martial and the jury is out on Shaw)

Rojo - Shite
Schneiderlin - Don't know what happen with him, but he's shite this year
Memphis - nuff said
Darmian - Lost in transition
Martial - success you can say, but for a 45M fee
Romero - who?
BFS - Injured, and a shadow of his former self even when fit

Anyone that dares say they don't think Mourinho is coming is getting so much stick, it's hilarious. There's nothing wrong with what she said.

Van Gaal's role in pre-season
One person who believes Van Gaal is staying is Sky Sports News presented Hayley McQueen. Here’s what she told Football Fancast.

“If some of the papers are to be believed this deal with Jose Mourinho is already done and dusted.

“I worked at the end of the season awards actually and having good relationships with people at the club my udnerstanding is that they’re all set for Van Gaal to take charge of the team next season. He’s even had a massive hand in the pre-season.

“Ed Woodward and the guys sat down and mapped out the whole pre-season plan - where they would train, where they would travel to - and Louis van Gaal has come in and actually changed a lot of what they’re doing and planning. So obviously they have hmi in mind.

“He has a very good relationship with Ed Woodward and I think that’s why he’s been in the job as long as he has.

“I think he is fairly confident himself of winning the FA Cup and his own future.”

Hayley McQueen
I believe her.

Obviously they would plan for pre season with the current manager, this stuff needs doing ahead of time it means nothing.

I wonder if Van Gaal is well aware he is going and is simply doing a Fergie to keep momentum going?

I am tempted to see the reaction from all these pro jose posters if LVG ends up staying. Just to see how they will justify whatever theory/agenda they have built up in their mind that Jose is 100% our next manager.

puts a new spin on things after saying he's done all he can with these players. if he is going to be here next season

Sounds like Ed had us globetrotting to market the club and Van Gaal stepped in with his input on proper preparation for next season, something he was adamant about after last years world tour. He is still our manager, loves control and never changes despite the situation. It's not surprising that he has a heavy hand in pre season regardless of his future with the club. United will have scores of people making preparations, tools aren't put down just because the managers future is uncertain.
It's a common ploy in the media now for clicks and pennies to speculate on the managers position. If we were sticking with Van Gaal the club would of definately made a statement of support by now. If we were going down the Giggs road we would definately know by now, Ed would have it advertised like a summer blockbuster. Up until two weeks ago Van Gaal scoffed at any idea of him leaving and someone else taking over, now we have heard from his own lips that his future is uncertain and if he had better players he could've achieved more. Typical talk from a manager who has been told his days are numbered. If there was no chance of Mourinho his camp would of said so weeks and weeks ago and he would be signed up at PSG already.
I do believe it a dead cert that Jose Mourinho will be our new manager. The future looks very bright indeed, a world class manager, a club executive itching to spend and break records, owners who are hands off, an experienced and respected DOF picked and courted by the manager, a super agent and half a dozen youngsters blooded in the first team. The only thing that could tarnish it for me would be having Giggs stick around. We need a clean break from not only the last three years but the last ten. Having him around with that kind of speculation is unhealthy, that Lord Of The Rings character Wormtongue comes to mind when I think of Giggs at this stage and I am fecking pissed that a guy with no experience would be considered for the manager of United regardless of his role at the club. If it is the case of Giggs taking over then that means that SAF and David Gill lied to us for all those years and our club has just turned in to an organization where it's jobs for the boys, not unlike a big bank or political party.
I doubt if Mourinho is the manager that Giggs would stick around. Mourinho is way too paranoid to want that to happen:lol:
But agreed it's too distracting. Let the new manager have some space to breathe and get on with the job. The club shouldn't be worrying about Ryan's future or feelings - we haven't got time for this. We need to concentrate on getting competitive again and soon.
Besides, Ryan has a lot of contacts and opportunities if he chooses to take them, he'd be all right.

Moyes was allowed to flopp around kroos. He was also given scout reports about herrera. He also planned to buy pogba and scouted him. He also wanted cavani and had a deal in the pipeline for him. All changed when he did not get Top4. Same happens with LVG. IF he gets top4 we continue like nothing happened. If he doesnt then bye bye, thanks for the plans.

Its no need to justify anything. Its done.

He's gone regardless.

Yea seeing a bunch of people on the internet pissed off would be well worth enduring another year of shit football for.

Diego Torress deadline of 1 st may is approaching. Will we see some action soon ?

No, no it wouldn't

Yep, our fan base behaving like petulant children because we have gone a couple of years without a title. I saw a youtube effort today by some moron who entitled it how to destroy the greatest club. He was properly derided in the comments by those who support clubs who havent won 30 odd trophies in the last 2 decades.

We're "acting like petulant children" because we've had to put up with watching an utterly awful style of football, not because we haven't won anything.

Yup, no team, not even west brom, want to watch this.

yeah thats it. and when we win 1-0 16 times with Jose next year on the way to the league title we will have the same shite talked.

Jose is a much more attacking manager than many make out.

You really think that's it?

I had some jumped up little cnut, having a pop at me the other day, saying I'm losing my shit because LvG didn't win the quadruple this year. The likes of him and that mindset pisses me off massively. Of course I want success! If I wanted to follow some shithouse outfit, I'd follow Liverpool! But, the lack of success is not just why I want him gone.

Two years and the only thing that I can take as a positive is the emergence of Rashford and the prospect of Martial. There doesn't seem to be any plan, any blueprint, nothing! Warren Joyce and the rest of the underage coaches take the credit for Rashford, not LvG!

I could write a big long winded post as to why I want him out but, I think the majority have covered it in this thread and others. Himself, Giggs and the rest have failed. There is no other way of putting it.

Will Mourinho fix everything? Nope! But, I will bet a lot that he would be better

So in this current climate in british football you think United are the only ones with problems? LVG is the reason why Leicester is atop the league? LVG has done a lot wrong but he doesnt deserve the abuse he gets. Not to mention he has got us to an FA cup final.

Nope Im realistic and I also remember United pre fergie and pre 1993.
What does that have to do with prioritising the annoyance of people you don't know over the success of the club?

If someone is genuinely more interested in laughing at people on here than the welfare of United then they're not fans.

Well, he's certainly nowhere near challenging Leicester now is he?! With the standards we set ourselves, he has failed! Simple as that!

Abuse? I agree, he doesn't deserve abuse. I actually quite like him but, I'm not blind.
