Would you be happy to see Jose Mourinho become next United manager?

I said in the other thread I thought Mendes was playing games with Ed - maybe using this as a negotiating tactic or something - feck knows. But I'm really tired of all these rumours. At this point, it's just as distracting for the team, as it would be if United would put everything to bed and say whether or not he's coming in. I wouldn't usually agree with this, but it's getting annoying now.

If they are letting LVG go, then sit down and talk with him and make up some shit about him wanting to retire early, but will finish the season blah blah. On ? date, Jose Mourinho or whomever takes over. That's it, fans and players know where they stand. Otherwise everyday we're hearing crap.

Man you're really going to have to enlighten us all once this is over, I'm genuinely curious now lol

I will. Its kind of strange that some of the big transfer gurus dont know shit. Di Marzio knows and has not backed out. Maybe more people know, but just want the story to roll on.

How many clicks (and subsequent ad revenue) do you think the media have got on articles on this subject in the last 3-4 months?
You're right, completely forgot about that aspect of it...

Cnut. The guy has signed ffs

I have no idea how you know but I actually believe you. The media would be doing the exact same thing with Guardiola if City hadn't gone ahead and announced things so quickly. I wish we did but completely understand why we haven't and why we are al just going to have to suck it up and wait until the end of the season for Joses confirmation.

They did; remember all the stories about us trying to hijack that deal?

Good old Jamie Jackson has just written an article in The Guardian again confirming PSG are looking to bring in Mourinho and we haven't given him any assurances about taking over so face the prospect of missing out. Hoping it's a load of rubbish but Mendes must be encouraging the speculation.

Trying to remain confident about us getting him but it is concerning, so many conflicting reports out there and we do seem to be taking our sweet ass time to work out what we want to do. Mourinho would be silly not to consider PSG if we still haven't promised him the job but I have faith Ed has this in the bag and it's just more media rubbish.

Unless he has no other options, why would Mourinho take the PSG job?

It seems clear he would prefer to stay in the PL - as most in his position would, rather than head to France to manage in a dismal league devoid of competition.

The reality is PSG have yet to sack Blanc which is, likely because they don't want to burn bridges. If he doesn't get the United job then they'd still probably be happy to take him so why commit now? Especially since he's probably getting paid by Chelsea until he finds new employment.

Smells very much like an agent driving this, or just media nonsense.

He had form for it at Madrid too.

And that's unusual?
He wanted to move on a few club legends, who were well past their prime. They kicked up a fuss & the club sided with the players. Using Real as an example is barmy, they chop & change mangers as internal politics dictate.
United aren't run like Chelsea nor Real. If the manager is doing a decent job & wants a player gone, it'll happen. There wouldn't be a dressing room revolt, as the Manager is there to manage & players will be quickly made moved on.

I just watched Neil Ashton verbally shit himself on NBCSN and laughed to myself.
This runt doesn't know a god damn thing about what's going on. I wish we could get the football news from financial media sources, they are more careful with their bullshit just in case they cause a panic.

Would love to see Brentan and Giggs throw their name in the hat.

Mourinho to PSG was dismissed earlier by Mohamed Bouhafsi who's Like the Di Marzio of France. He's as reliable as it gets and was the first to break Martial to United.

First to report Di Maria to PSG as well, when most of us were in denial.

They can make all the approach they want. Mou will wait for us till at least the end of May. We don't need to panic just yet.

Yeah, we would be his choice over PSG by a country mile IMO. It's really a question of what we want right now.

This is essentially what I been saying for months. A lot of these reports are desperate attempts from the Mourinho camp to force the clubs hands. I also suspect it isn't just SAF and SBC with reservations about Mourinho. It would not surprise me if Ed and the Galzers had reservations themselves.
If indeed what Balague says here is true, I don't think the club will look at Mourinho's camp attempts to undermine the season too kindly.
As I said earlier, I don't think the club particularly wants him and will only appoint him if they feel they absolutely have to.

I don't have any inside info but I'm with Aquire me. I think Mourinho to United is done

I tend not to believe any English football journalists. They seem more concerned about the refreshments tan the truth. It seems to me that if they had a national convention where families are encouraged it would still be a free for all for every hooker in the town.

Reads like a guy totally out of the loop. I would be disgusted if we didn't hire Mourinho at this stage.

The idea that Guillem "i know everything" Ballague knows what's going on at Utd is laughable. The facts are nobody knows - and you can include Charlton and Ferguson in that. Will the decision have been made? Yes but you're talking a very select few individuals who will know. I've said before - Woodward, Joel Glazer, and Richard Arnold - that's as far as it goes. The reason for that is the way the Moyes news broke.

Mourinho and his agent must know if he's getting the job too, surely? I mean, if they didn't tell him that they had decided to give him the job in the summer, he'd just go elsewhere. It wouldn't make sense not to tell him.

If we keep winning, then it will be hard decision for the management. 6 home wins, 5 clean sheets, 1 point behind 4th. Right now, we cant sack him and the longer it goes, the longer Mourinho is delayed. I know mou will wait for us, but Van gaal is a lucky bastard and i have a feeling he will fluke into top 4 on expense of arsenal that will cause arse to let wenger go and hire Mourinho. That would be the worst situation possible.

Do we reckon it'll be another 6 weeks till this gets announced? I don't think I can wait that long!

It will be the day we are out of the champions league race mathematically. Seeing our home form lately, i think this will go down to the wire.

Of course but Mendes has kept very quiet and there has to be a reason for that. You have the PSG story but it's not certain that came from Mendes - it was shut down very quickly. Woodward and Mendes are quite close so I'm presuming it's been made clear that this remains confidential.

So you think if it becomes impossible for us to get top four before the cup final (if we make it, of course), he will be sacked? Absolutely no chance. He's here until the end of the season at the very least.

Utd should never settle for top 4. It isn't a hard decision at all.
