Hardly a surprise they'd want him though. So long as his preference is United it doesn't matter. Ligue 1 would be his last choice for league football without a doubt.

I know they say that Mourinho doesn't stay long at clubs, but this is ridiculous.

Ferguson is an anomoly of an example - he's a managerial god who no one would confront anyway.

You can respect ones authority and still voice a difference of opinion. You do know that right?

yes in the manager's office in a 1 to 1 meeting

All part of the Mendes masterplan to gee our cobweb-covered execs up. ;)

PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi is understood to have instigated the approach to Mourinho - via his agent Jorge Mendes - immediately afterPSG's Champions League exit at the hands of Manchester City last week, having grown frustrated at the club's lack of progress in Europe under Laurent Blanc.

Sky Sports News HQ understands Mourinho's preference is to wait until the end of the season and monitor any developments at Manchester United, although he does consider PSG a credible choice for his return to management and is considering his options.

Mourinho is known to have a friendship with Al-Khelaifi, which pre-dates the Qatari's ownership of PSG. Al-Khelaifi has tried to appoint the 53-year-old as manager twice before, and remains convinced the Portuguese is the man most likely to achieve the club's ambition of winning the Champions League.

Last week, Al-Khelaifi could not hide his disappointment after PSG were knocked out of the Champions League by City, and admitted Blanc took a "tactical gamble" by playing a three-man defence in the second leg, which they lost 1-0, eventually going out 3-2 on aggregate.
he manner of the defeat was branded a "fiasco" by sports newspaperL'Equipe, and despite the fact Blanc signed a new two-year contract in February keeping keep him at the club until 2018, Al-Khelaifi now wants Mourinho to replace him this summer.

PSG's approach to Mourinho will not go unnoticed among the Manchester United hierarchy, who will review Louis van Gaal's position at the end of the season. United currently sit four points off the top four in the Premier League with five games remaining, but could still win the FA Cup.

Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports News HQ on April 9, Mourinho denied any agreement was in place for him to join Manchester United in the summer. "I am always linked with jobs and in the summer I will have a job, but in this moment I can promise you I do not have a contract with any club," he said. Were United to sack Van Gaal this summer and replace him with Mourinho, it would also have an impact upon player recruitment at Old Trafford.

Last week, Sky Sports News HQ revealed Zlatan Ibrahimovic would only be willing to join Manchester United if Van Gaal left the club. The Swede is available on a free transfer this summer but in his 2011 autobiography I Am Zlatan, he alluded to a strained relationship with Van Gaal during their time together at Ajax.

Meanwhile, United are known admirers of John Stones, who Mourinho unsuccessfully tried to bring to Chelsea from Everton last summer. Everton rejected three bids from Chelsea for the defender, and refused to sell Stones. It is understood Mourinho would approve of signing both the 21-year-old and Ibrahimovic if he were to take over at Old Traffor

Are they running with it?

If he turns this down, then we can presume he is coming here. Unless he goes to Everton of course.

Shhh.. You dont ask such question here. You just join the "Doom Gloom. All is lost" bandwagon :devil:

Another country to win throphies in, it makes sense for him to go there.

I really hope we get him though. I hoped he would succeed SAF from the moment he ran down our touchline.

Nope. Not even one french outlets running with it.

Men journalist on the PSG link-

What jose said earlier about PSG-

I'm aware of this yes, tbh though if we are not interested does he really have a choice?

Mourinho would win The Champions League with PSG. Another major achievement to put on his CV.

He's probably just using the recent link to scare Woodward.

Dont know mate, the thing is do we have a choice? If we are nott interested in him, who are we interested in? Imagine psg sack blanc and ire mourinho, do we hire blanc? does that not mean we are less ambitious than PSG? who else is on the available list? Dont tell me giggs, i would probably smash my TV in if we make him manager.

Mystic Steve predicts: I foresee a Blanc/Giggs managment at United. Bugger...

I think we go for Mourinho, but I can't say I am 100% confident in our board to make the correct decisions, so I really do not know.

If season ticket sales are going as badly as is claimed, the board will know they have to act decisively this summer. The fans are voting with their feet and the sponsors can't be particularly impressed with the tumescent football and atmosphere of apathy around the club.

I can't imagine they're going to stick with LVG or give it to Giggs when it's obvious so few supporters want either of those things to happen.

It's nonsense. Mourinho's tied by gentlemen's agreements, secret handshakes and pre-pre-contracts.

He might gouge an eye, thrust infront of opposing fans, and throw his doctor under the bus, but he wouldn't turn his back on a wink and a finger-point from Woodward.

Sky, Mendes and PSG pushing for some concrete information from United.

If the board fecks this up because of poor Louis and his feelings then they deserve what's coming.
