Solskjaer: Giggs can be a great United manager
The plethora of Giggs’ former teammates and Fergie acolytes championing an unproven manager is becoming embarrassing.

“Can Giggsy be a great United manager? Definitely. Ryan’s got the United DNA,” Solskjaer told the Daily Star.

“He’s a very bad loser, like everyone has to be if they want to be successful.”
This is gathering too much pace for my liking.

So basically managers who do not have United dna actually celebrate defeats?

I think it means the collective body of the RedCafe would be the ultimate football manager for Manchester United? I mean we all hate losing don't we?

IVe yet to see managers celebrating a defeat

Nothing surprises us anymore. I wouldn't even put it past us to give the job to Gary Neville.
Honestly I would not actually be that unhappy with his appointment. Obviously didn't do well at Valencia but he's young and with someone like that I'd quite happily take a bumpy road so he could build something. LVG on the other hand is retiring in one year so what's the point letting him linger.

The thing that I'm clinging to is the fact that the club has had the chance to nip the Mourinho to United rumours In the bud for months now and haven't.

Also, we had a chance to take Mourinho 3 years ago, but we ended up with Moyes and LVG.

So Solskjaer's reasoning is that 1. Giggs played for United and 2. he prefers winning to losing.

I wish all the ex-players would just keep their noses out tbh.

With Mourinho at the helm, assuming he is backed very well financially, I have absolutely faith we can rebuild into a top 4 team that pushes for the title.

It's going to take some serious money to get in the caliber of players we are going to need though.

Can't they express an opinion, or answer questions when asked?

It does get tiring though, this whole thing that Giggs knows the club in and out, what does that even mean? He knows how to win? So does Mourinho, Mourinho knows how to win as a manager. Many players know how to win but the vast minority actually make good managers. It's such a stupid and naive argument.

You have to be one of those people that only sees the best in people if the seeminglt choreographed response by our former players on this issue doesn't strike you as odd, at the very least. You can't possibly believe that all those former players happen to think alike and that for all the years they spent with Giggs knowing ''the club inside out'' is the one defining trait they can all see in Giggs. This is a power move and its shocking that people are just dismissing this sustained PR campaign as 'offering their opinion'.

Thanks

I wouldn't listen to a word that bunch of circle-jerking clowns have to say, personally
Yeah. The same lot that writes in the papers about us and people say they're shit and know nothing. They release a round table discussion video and everyone takes it as a fact. They don't know shit and are speculating as much as the rest us. I'd put more trust in what Di Marzio or ball bag has to say and last I saw they're not back peddling on what they know.

Agreed. So do the various admin staff who have been at the club for as long as they have since Fergie's time if you want to take that line of argument too. So do all the coaches who have had far more coaching experience than Giggs. Why can't they be considered for the job? It's pure senseless sentimentality that will destroy us.

I think noone in the media, or the so-called "ITKs", knows anything at all about what's going on. LVG could be safe for another year and we haven't even spoken to Mourinho or thought about hiring him, or we could have a pre-contract with Mourinho already. Who the fecks knows -- definitely not newspapers or twitter "experts". All of that is fabricated nonsense. Every single bit of it. Somebody will have guessed right in the end, of course.

Mate, Jose isn't joining us, so we can make top 4. That's LVG/Moyes' level.
Jose will join us, with the intention of winning the title in a quick a time as possible. Like Fergie, he expects to win trophies every year.

I think you are 100% correct.

With the speed of social media, it's impossible to keep anything secret nowadays.

Which tells me no decision has yet been made in any direction. That's the simple genuine truth despite whatever anyone says

Just like Pep going to City ey...... oh wait....
The thing is here it is clearly not just twitter experts or are we forgetting Bedy Morrati already and also the BBC reporting we met with Mourinho.
No smoke without fire, just like Pep to City I think this one is nailed on tbh

What gets tiring? You forcing yourself to read the answer to a bait question in the form of poorly presented journalism?... Ole was probably asked this question a year ago and they know his answer is on record so they can re-hash it and garner another 7 pages of discussion on the caf going "OH MY GOSH. WHY AM I BEING FORCED TO READ SUCH SAD AND LOWLY TRIPE, BLAST."

Just stop reading it. Every person connected to the club is always going to answer the same question with "sure Giggsy will give it a go and might succeed..." I mean.. Why the hell wouldn't you say that? If they pointed a mic at you (and you were acquainted with Giggs) and said give me a few words to put in tomorrow's star would your answer be "The club is doomed if they appoint Giggs, triple relegation's incoming.." - Sigma 2016.

Or would you be diplomatic and just say the same "yeah I think he could do well because he knows the club"..

You're right. Bedy Moratti already revealed the secret.

So LVG and Giggs know they're dead men walking, because there's no way they wouldn't find out even if the club tried to sort it out behind their backs.

No, I think at the very least there's a top 4 condition and that we could still back out of Mourinho, in other words it's not decided.

No comment from anyone at the club (that I've seen) points to Mourinho. Didn't LVG say that he's safe and that Ed wouldn't go behind his back or something .... LVG could of course talk BS and he knows he's gone, but all of it doesn't really add up for me. And Giggs, it would probably be worse for him to know that he's not the next manager after all, without imploding. I think it's different from City, at least they announced it, and Pellegrini may have been clued in earlier on.

But like I said .... who the feck knows, besides the few individuals who are actually involved. I think everything else is speculation. I just find it hard to buy that Mourinho is a done deal.

Well, there have been 'leaked' stories about precontracts, not to mention Di Marzio, Balague etc using twitter to proclaim it a done deal. And Moratti of course. And last week ex-Real president Ramon Calderon said that if Mourinho doesn't go to United, he'll return to Real - which suggests United are at least in prime position.

Don't forget there was nothing official leaked about Guardiola either - no contracts, pics of him at City's training ground or anything. There was just lots of speculation about him joining City, coupled with the odd bit of speculation about him going to United - the sort of balance we're seeing now between the majority of reporters who say he's going to United and the minority who say LVG is staying and talk up Giggs.

You may well be right though. None of us knows for sure what's going on at the club (unless Woodward is on the Caf and posing as that Santiago Kinderegg chap).

One question, though. If nothing had been agreed, wouldn't Mourinho be talking himself up and hawking himself out to other clubs? This isn't a bloke who's shy about self-promotion, and he's said almost nothing about his future, bar those opaque comments in Singapore. I would imagine he'd be a bit more vocal if United had left him in limbo.

According to The Sun, Mourinho is the top target to manage Syria...
What do you think, @syrian_scholes ?

If we are being too loyal again then our destiny is our own fault. The best manager in world football wants to manage you and your too afraid of sacking the previous manager out of respect for him and the club. Man City are more ruthless to suceed than us if thats the case. LVG will realise his replacement is ready now and its time to retire if he wants the best for us too

Obviously we wouldn't dream of announcing this now like Chelsea have their manager. No doubt the dithering and silence from the club will go on for a while when the season closes.

Gyan Riggs: "It's Giggs for me"

"I like the way 'Riggs' thinks!"

I'd like to then Ed and Jose send each other text messages every night about their aspiring purchases. Accompanied by love heart and kiss emoji's.
