This is now getting too quiet after yesterday
The media will probably come out in full force tomorrow, perhaps? They will certainly be grinding their knives should we fail to get a result against Shrewsbury.

Jesus....Red Issue just went apeshit on Twitter.

Obviously no idea if true but, none of it would surprise me
Come on Rossi. What is it?!

If SAF was as power-mad as they claim, then he'd still be manager.

Let's hope it's not true. Best thing is we get a buyer for the club. Then no more arguments. Some oil man comes in won't care about anyone and sentimentality - he'd just sweep them all over board and get on with it.

The Red Issue story does nicely explain the current predicament though.

LVG is a dead man walking, but Woodward is stalling on his sacking because that decision will result in the culmination of an internal political battle.

Yes. The biggest question I have is SAF's motivation. If he is opposed to the power of Woodward and Arnold as commercial minds leading instead of football minds, that is fair enough. In fact its a view a lot of fans would embrace. But why would he be making a power grab now when he could have just never retired and maintained his absolute power.

Maybe he wants to do it by proxy.

Maybe. But it seems to me that if you're truly driven by having power and control, you don't voluntarily give up that power and control. For me, it doesn't add up. If SAF & Gill are that concerned about events, they should teeam up publicly and announce their desire to return to power (even if only for a few years) - our fans would surely support them, and the owners would pretty much have to allow it.

Probably struts into the directors suite, with "I have the power" blasting out over the PA

And shouts to LVG: "I will attack...and you don't want that."

One of my mates who lives in Manchester once told me that SAF was actually not a very nice man. I was furious with him and forgot to question him on how he knows that. However sometimes I have to wonder....

The story in MEN is as well hinting as to a power struggle behind the scenes, so you have to really wonder if there might not be a grain of truth somewhere.

I wouldn't want to fall out with him. I find him intimidating.

Kind of echos Keane's rants about Fergie's need for power. I have no idea what the truth is now, but what sort of power can Ferguson hope to demonstrate if Giggs is an outright failure?

'Trouble is, both Keano and Red Issue are horribly biased. So it's hard to take such opinions seriously.

If anyone would be surprised by Fergie being ruthless and unscrupulous...hrm. He's a winner. Even in retirement.

That said, who knows if RI know anything in reality.

Oh stop it you old romantic.

God there really is some amount of shite on here recently.

Fergie loves power. The man would be a power ranger if he could.
No disrespect to the man but, his many references to "power" in his last two books would strongly hint that he likes it

If any of that is remotely close to being true then the likes of SBC and SAF aren't doing the club any favors, they both ned to put their egos aside and let the club move forward rather than hanging around trying to influence things to suite them.

Maybe he felt he didn't have the energy anymore to manage? I mean he's in his 70s and wanted to spend more time with his wife. Maybe that's why he wanted Moyes? Someone he thought he could control, and thereby maintaining some sort of control? I mean the person who installs the man winning trophies and/or keeping United in the top four would probably have a lot of influence with the Glazers, knowing that they are looking at the bottom line. However, as brilliant as he is, he can't choose managers:lol:
First Moyes, now Giggs:lol:

Utter conspiracy bullshit from Red Issue. One thing I do believe is Woodward would stll consider Giggs for commercial reasons.

For me, it suggests that he realises how crucial power is for a manager.

Conspiracy theory bullshit.

If Fergie wanted power, he'd still be manager.

the spirit is strong but the body is weak.

Of course SAF wants power. The man had been Manchester United for more than 20 years and that something people can get easily happy with. Do you think that people have a power switch at the back of the head that they can switch off and go to irrelevance with a smile on their face? If SAF didn't want power then he would have simply retired and moved to his lovely home in Scotland instead of becoming a director
