Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Right. I've just finished the 1st 2 missions and about done with the 3rd. Fantastic game. It's like Crysis done right. The particle effects really are quite spectacular and affects combat realistically. And the end of the 2nd mission was just intense. I was like a crazy monkey running to and fro for cover because everything was just crumbling around me.

I'm tempted again now watching him playing Conquest mode. I really did love that in BF1943. Where's the cheapest place for this now or are we looking at full price everywhere?

Hmm played the demo and i wasn't that impressed. Possibly down to the fact i played it for 10 mins and i was rubbish!

is this cheaper for the first day in asda just like fifa was?

Well I bought it, expect I'm just going to be bitterly disappointed that my PC won't run it on max settings, play it once and then just ignore it out of spite.

Looks pretty amazing from the video's I've seen though

FPS's have always been better on PC's, sports sims not so much.

Games in general tend to look better on a PC aswell because its more powerfull, the reason FIFA looks like the PS2 on a PC is because they for some strange reason are yet to update the engine

I know. I was only taking the piss.

To be fair, I should have made it clear that I've only tried the multiplayer demo on the PS3. However, the difference for me is pretty huge..

I started playing the SP Campaign last night and so far so good on the 'Make MW2 look a bit shit' front. I wonder how MP will fare.

Single player campaign is supposed to blow. Multiplayer is supposed to be superb.

Fair enough.... I guess that means the SP is shite then, didn't read it but then I've already made my mind up anyway...

Not necessarily, it just means this particular reviewer wasn't fond of it. Although I have read a few reviews, and most mention the SP campaign not being on a par with the MP. Anyway, the vast majority of people buying this game will be doing so for the MP, so I wouldn't worry about it. Play it and make up your own mind.

I think I'm going to love this... Demo was the nuts. Have to finish some work then I'm going to jump on the SP...

The SP is a pretty repetitive slog, like MW2's. But the beauty's in the details

How amazing is the sound design in this game? I can't believe how superior this game is compared to so many others in terms of sound, it's no one else has made an effort. Seriously impressive.

Plus the destructible scenery is surprisingly well implemented though a bit inconsistent. And although a lot of times it looks exactly like Crysis (Which made my PC a withering mess at max settings), it runs beautifully with everything cranked up for me.

So far I've played about 20 minutes and I dont have a clue whats going on.

We had a quick drunken session on it at about 3am this morning, and I was exactly the same. I'm sure people on my team kept shooting me.

It looks fun though. The graphics seemed a lot less impressive than in the youtube videos someone's posted in here.

I had a short burst on the one player. It's a bit run of the mill but could be fun nonetheless.

The multiplayer is obviously a bit more of a thinking man's game. Because it takes me a good few seconds before I can tell if someone is friend or foe. Plus your life is far more valuable because it takes 30 seconds to respawn. There is also a lot of camping and smaller teams, as far as I can tell that is. But once I get used to it I think it'll be very good.

Was wrong to base my opinion on a short play of the demo as I'm really enjoying this (single & multi expecially).

I'm at that jaw dropping valley bit in the jungle on the single player. It's largely set piece stuff like COD but fun nonetheless.

Conquest is excellent. Although there are far too many muppets sniping at the moment. Agree about the sound, it's immense. There's shit blowing up everywhere. Tanks are still the nuts.

I haven't played the single player. Just on multiplayer on my sister's xbox.

I might have to buy it now. It's not everyday you can say you were killed by a helicopter nosediving onto your face.

I was playing my first MP games last night and had a blast. I have a nasty habit of just running blindly through foilage and directly into or in front of enemy vehicles though, so I spent a lot of time running away and hiding. Hid behind a small building once and the fecker just drove through it and killed me :(

Also had my first feck Yea moment when a sniper tried to jump down behind me for a knife kill. Stupid cnut fell onto my head though so I caught a glimpse of him, spun around immediately and stabbed the fecker in the face

Any noticeable tearing on the PS3 version? I have the first, and it was quite bad at times.
