Bad Berba's Back

He seems to hate Nani. For some reason, he never ever passes to him, although Nani has been in some good positions.

Why does he have to take so many touches when he gets the ball and run around in a circle, instead of just playing it back to the midfielders who he runs past anyways.

Very difficult to play quick attacking football with a player like this.

Berbatov having a far better game than his last few appearances, but feck me the moaning and brattishness get worse by the game, surely Fergie must have something to say about it, can't be productive

Better yes, but still very average so far. But so has a lot of them this evening, its not just him

If this annoys you John then I'm sure you were livid when Hargreaves had his first few matches for us.

Yeah, I'd say it's Berbatov's fault that our quick counter-attacking play isn't working today. I mean, it's not like our opposition are playing five permanent defenders, that'd be silly!

Did I say just "today" anywhere? :nono:
Does he not do the same in other games also?

I'd rather have this angry and full of rage Berba, or for I shall name Dark Berba, than indifferent Berba, the berba who wouldn't give a feck even if he had 99 fecks in his pockets.

Rooney got a goal, but I thought Berbatov was better. That doesn't mean he was good.

He has done alright today.
His final ball was off a bit but his link up play with Rooney and the others worked prett well.

I think he played really bad tonight. We all know he's a great player with a lot of talent, but his inconsistency is getting annoying

Anyone who is saying he had a bad game needs to stop following football.

I don't think he hates him, just a bit frustrated that Nani keeps ignoring him which was very apparent today.

Anyone else watching the Sky highlights? I swear whoever is co-commentating just said the penalty shout near the start was borderline outside the box and he can understand the ref not wanting to give it! WTF?!

Played well tonight.

Agreed.

But the whining and screaming is beyond annoying.

Though, it does make me laugh when he throws his arms up and yells at Nani when it was nearly impossible for Nani to get him the ball. That only happens two or three times a game.

I don't understand his issue with Nani, there can be 3 or 4 people infront of him and Berba will still complain that Nani didn't find him with a pass

Nani isn't superhuman, kinnel

The thing that absolutely does my nut in is regardless of whether he's actually quite good or not, the same group of people on here arrive in to slag him off when he hasn't been one of the best two or three players in our team. Yet we have other players (like Anderson) who generally play worse than he does yet they have people saying they're the best thing since sliced bread.

If he's shit then he deserves a bit of stick (for example, it's a fact that he's been poor over the last few weeks), but I can't help feeling people have raised the bar for him to a level he can probably never meet.

Like a fecking little bitch.

Fair enough, sometimes Nani does something stupid, but he's slowly ironing out of his game. Berba just goes on at him like a whining old bag.

Seems personal.

He needs to not bring it on the pitch.

I've been as concerned with his recent form as anybody but I thought he was decent tonight and much improved on his recent performances. Having another experienced, proven striker in tandem with him seemed to bring him back to life a little.

So the criticism of his game tonight is unfair IMO but the hissy fits are beginning to get tedious, most of them on the back of his own mistakes or poor touches.

really? I think he was getting alot of respect on here when he was in form earlier this season and anybody saying Anderson is the best thing since sliced bread needs to go wherever Scholsey is

The whining IS annoying but it's somewhat understandable when Nani is in frustration mode like he was tonight.

Far more annoying when Berbatov himself is also playing like shite. Thankfully that wasn't the case tonight. He had feck all service from the flanks and a strike partner who was a shadow of his usual self for 80 minutes. All things considered it was a good performance.

Get off your i-phone, Berbs, before one of the other players spots you.

I remember when "played well" was "created chances, tested the keeper, assisted a goal, scored"

I thought he played well tonight. Was everywhere on the pitch, held the ball well, as usual and passed it well too. Tracking back was good and he was always in the mix up front.

Thought one of the commentators moaned about him too much, nothing unusual there, that particular commentator always does.

I actually can't be bothered with most of the crap that's been (and will be) spouted. Berbatov had a good game. Dare I say he was one of our best players today.

I'm sure the usual brigade will find a way to pick at the game and identify something he did which prevented orphans from being united with their parents though.

He berates Nani nearly every game though, I don't buy into the theory that it's a personal thing because Nani never responds or screams the house down at Berba despite in most cases having more right to.

Other than that, agree with the rest and the sentiments that he played decent today and the brickbats aren't deserved on the back of it.

Definitely better tonight but it was a hard game to judge anyone on b/c it was like a glorified training exercise.

Exactly. People complain that he doesn't look interested and is lazy - yet when he's actually showing something, a desire to fecking win everyone complains. He can't actually win.

Thought he was good tonight anyway, probably better than Rooney.

Well that wasn't really my point. Obviously people will praise players if they're playing out of their skins. What he seems not to be able to do is play okay-decent without attracting quite a bit of criticism. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground. He has to be either a 9 or 10/10 or a 0.

I honestly think whenever Berba isn't passing the ball to Nani it's because Nani isn't in an advanced/better position or because he knows Nani would try dribble through the defense and end up giving the ball away. Today, that was pretty much the case.

For the record, I don't like the arms up in the air, but I also think SAF would have said something to him by now. Some people make too big a deal from it. Nani is frustrating to watch on a day like this

He was alright today, nothing more.. nothing less. He is beginning to annoy me a tad with his attitude and I find it hard to defend him when he's being so petulant. Second half, the whole side finally found some balls and drive, pathetic display bar a few in the first half.

Giggs and Scholes.. their professionalism outstands me.. Rooney and Berba would do well to even show half of what these guys give to the team.
