Bad Berba's Back

He's started just 9 games in the past 7 months due to injury. He scored 34 goals last season. He is our best player.

He deserves to be our highest paid player too.

Berbatov has been a massive disappointment since his big money move.

There's a big difference between the two players.
Rooney was our most prolific striker last season. That doesn't necessarily mean he was our best player.

As for this injury, well he seems confused about that....thinks he wasn't injured so I don't know what to make of it.

Bollocks, he was by far and away our best player as well as being the most talented player at United after the departure of Ronaldo....

Only one striker not performing....and he's had his wages increased in his new contract.

Well thats not true at all is it. Berbatov is clearly off form at this present time. Hopefully he's saving his goals for the big matches coming up but that doesnt change that he's not doing well.

Oh yeah right, 34 goals, beating his best previous tally by eleven, and he was pretty average.

Pack it in fella....
Sure, the defence played well and so did some of the others. Granted Vidic and Evra didn't score 34 goals but their overall game was on a par with Rooney's. Fletcher and Scholes for that matter played well too.

That's a crackhead comment to be fair, Rooney was our best player last season, anybody saying otherwise is just bitter that he's a fat cnut.

The last part, 'Fletcher and Scholes played well too' what exactly are you trying to say? Spit it out man!

It's the absurdity that Berba fans will resort to, when they try to justify a point.

Berbatov has been dreadful for more than just 3 games.

I don't see it that way. But strikers tend to be judged on goals scored. We all know that

Take Evra. He is a defender and he was dreadful from the beginning of the season. Even now, his defending is not as good as it was last season. His attacking is back to life, but not at all that good in his main role. Yet we don't go start a thread on that. Or on Park for example

My point is. We shouldn't have started such thread at the time the thread was created. Berba was poor only for the last few games

I've lost the point of this discussion. What did he say that's not true? Fletcher and Scholes played well too indeed. Evra was picked as the best left back in the world too

You're going to have to read my posts to understand what I'm saying. You judge a player on the goals he scores then you ignore all the other players and the work they do during the game. Yes he scored 34 goals and that's a large tally but other players in the team did their job just as well. Nani and Valencia gave him half of the goals on a plate.

Anyway, now I've got you off track nicely I'm off to bed. ;)

Time you went to specsavers.

This is more of the revionist rubbish.

Comparing him to Scholes just shows the depths you will plunge.

Berba is NO WAY as good as you think he is. If he was he would be tearing it up.

Accept he is a decent player which we massively overpaid. Lets keep him on as the money we spent is now a sunk cost.

Where did I compare him to Scholes? Not that it would be a bad thing, but where exactly?

Berba is good at some things and worse at other. Nobody said he's got it all.
I, as many others enjoy every bit of the magic he creates. And if he's off form, he should be dropped, as should be any other player Scholes or Rooney included.

However, you will never like his kind, but there's no reason to act as a complete dick when talking to those who think otherwise

I am back to work now. Behave yourself

Little one.

Time for bed, tuck yourself into your Berba Mattress the one thats stained yellow.

He's right though Commadus, and let's not resort to that.

You've made your point many times over, leave it at that.

When I started the thread my tongue was firmly in my cheek. It was a bit of a crack. Things have kind of just snowballed from there though.

If you think Berbatov has only been poor for the last few games though you need your head checking.

He's been awful since the Stoke game.

He was clearly our best player.

Worst signing we have ever done, waste of money.

£30M for a player who is good a few games and then goes back to being shite again..

Scored some vital goals last time we won the title and got a hat-trick against Liverpool, not saying he was worth 30 million squid but it wasn't a total waste really.

I can't remember too many vital goals when we won the title. Did he score once in the last 10 PL games or something? But yeah, he's been good from time to time, but with that price tag it's a flop.

Well...I wanted us to sign him so bad in 2008 and were sure he would be a sucess here. I think most of us did, a shame it has not worked out.

He scored a couple of winning goals and got a lot of assists in that season. His form dropped off severely towards the end of the season, but the goals and assists he made were still vital irrespective of when they happened.

I just don't see how he can be considered the worst signing ever. It's not as if he's not scored at all, or been injured the majority of the time. He's not been as good as we would have hoped, but I'd hardly say he's been the worst ever.

Well, he scored 3 winning goals in the league (Boro, Bolton, Newcastle), more than Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez. And he finished the season as the top assistant in the league. As a matter of fact, he contributed to as many league goals as Rooney. So, yes, he contributed to our last title, with vital goals and vital assists.

Bad Berba is back?

Did he ever really go away other than for the game against Liverpool?

A very disappointing player, one who makes it necessary for his manager to come out and take the blame for his lack of success.

Vps was top assist. Ron scored at least 3 winners in the EPL.

Starts tonight, I'm sure you all wish him well and will assess his performance with the utmost balance.

like yourself

Just out of interest how long was Rooney barren run in the CL?

He's been awful since the Stoke game.

He's been poor since not being paired with Rooney.

I don't think it is a coincidence.

You're kidding right?

You may well be right.

True about V. Persie, he had 11, Berbatov 10.

In which games did ronaldo score the winners?

Bolton 2-0 he scored first goal
West ham 2-0 both goals
Stoke 5-0 first goal
Everton 1-0
Blackburn 2-1
Ronaldo first goal 2-0 City

Not included his goals in the 5-2 comeback against Tottenham.

Those are called winners.

I was right that Berbatov scored more winners in the last successful campaign (or as much as Ronaldo, if we take into account one of his goals vs Wham). And he scored more (or as many) winners in all compets as well. Like it or not, he made telling contributions to our last title.

So when a player scores both goals in a game its not called a winner.

Yeah I thought as much another absurd use of logic.

You get the award!

For the sake of argument, which of the both goals is a winner, the first, the second, or both?

Of course, it's pointless to argue about that, what is important is the fact Berba played an important role for our last title.

Yes he did like others. He was useful last season as well. I don't think anyone can say even with Rooney and Ron when they were banging the goals in we were a one man team.

Berbatov having a far better game than his last few appearances, but feck me the moaning and brattishness get worse by the game, surely Fergie must have something to say about it, can't be productive
