Australian Open 2011

He'll cut out the errors with more experience and time. He's (she?) a good player. Anyway Rafa Ferrer up next now. Vamos Rafa!

I hope Nadal beats Murray again. I m gunning for Nadal. Hopefully it will be a Nadal-Federer final.

Ferrer got the early break after a crazy crazy game involving 9 Deuces. Nadal immediately breaks back to 15. If Nadal does win today he's going to raise his level a LOT to challenge Murray next match.

Trainer out again. Something is not right with Nadal. He's not even moving much. The point he just won on the Ferrer serve, he din't even run to the net incase there was a return. I've never seen such a negative body language from him.

I'm suspecting that Rafael Nadal is down with a fever. I am just speculating but look at the amount of perspiration in his last match and today. I think it's not a muscle injury but more of a fever.

Fever? Dunno

oh and now we can see some strapping on Rafa's left thigh. Thinking about it, he did seem to tweak something against Cilic on Monday. Perhaps it's actually injury, not illness.

British doubles player Ross Hutchins on Twitter: "Rafa looks toast."

Like I said, mere speculation. Not that I have played at anything near Rafa's level but when I was down with a fever and played basketball, I perspired twice as much as I would normally.

Ferrer takes the set 6-4. Nadal looks absolutely incapable of holding his serve. Broken 3 times all tournament and broken 3 times in this set alone today.

If Nadal can get a grip on his serve he can win this. Ferrer has just been broken for the 3rd time today. He's making too many errors.

And as usual Nadal gets broken again and is now 3-2 down. He might as well give up serving because he just can't hold on. Rubbish stuff.

Ferrer's been very good at times though.

Match over. Ferrer 5-2 up now. Being broken 5 times in 2 sets is not going to win you the match Rafa.

I fancy Murray's chances against Ferrer. Not against Nadal. Nor Federer or Djokovic. Ah well.

Murray would have HAMMERED Nadal on this form.

This just has to be Murray's tournament. From a draw that could have given him Del Po, Baggy, Soderling and Rafa he gets Melzer, Dolgo and Ferrer.

I think Murray just might beat Fed in the final this time. Or maybe not.

I err on the side of pessimism - far too many Henman semi-finals have done that to me.

Still, I think Murray has been quietly impressive so far. We will see!

I actually haven't watch a single point until just now, caught the score as I walked past the refectory.

Of course since have read/heard the comment, he's not 100%.

That's not an excuse though. Ferrer has been magnificent.

You got to fancy Murray now. Ferrer has a winning record against him but only on Clay. Hopefully Murray can do it this year

Murray will definitely beat Ferrer. I'm praying Novak beats Fed becaue a Novak Murray final could be absolutely fantastic unlike Fed Murray which will unfortunately be a straight sets victory for Fed.

This.

Trust you to come and sprout your nonsense here as usual.

He went off for treatment AFTER he broke back to get to 2-1 on serve in the FIRST set.

He always gets whatever treatment, whatever the score. Every match he loses he can then blame on injury, illness whatever. It's getting really tedious now..

If anyone, it's you who's getting really tedious now. He's going for 4 in a Row. If he started getting treatment when he was a set or 2 down or losing the set then I could understand a "tactical" medical time out but within the first 3 games? I'm sure if he was playing against anyone but Ferrer he would have retired. Ferrer is his friend and he din't want to take anything away from Ferrer's win by retiring.

"It's not easy because Rafa is a gentleman and he played with an injury as we are friendly," says Ferrer. "I fought a lot but for him with injury it was not easy. I did my game, played every serve, tried to go to the net. It's not normal that you win against Rafael in three sets - it's a victory for me but not really a victory. It wasn't easy for me because I could see Rafael could not run. But I just focused on me and my game. I'm very happy with this two weeks, it's amazing. I will try to do my best in the semi-finals, I will do my best."

You really should join the 606 Forum. It's full of Fed fans like you who have no other work in life other than whining and bitching about Nadal 24x7x365

Bloody hell, where did that come from? I had to feckin' work so I didn't see it. Was Nadal badly injured? Murray will never have a better chance to win one. On this surface he can beat any of the players left in it.
