Australian Open 2011

You conveniently removed that part of the interview I added it up.

Nadal himself didn't say what the problem was. It could have been injury in the 3rd game or something from previous matches, or an illness. But you seem to know better than him I guess.

First thing, because I don't know.

What does that tell you?

?
I din't remove it. It was just not there in the article I read. However I read the entire interview on the site now and I've put it up and it makes you look rather foolish.

Are you really acting dense? I just put it up on the previous page!!!

Q. It's going to be difficult for us to write a piece without appreciating how well you could move. It seemed to us you couldn't move as well as you would like to have been moving tonight. Is that a fair statement?

RAFAEL NADAL: You see the match?

Q. Yes.

RAFAEL NADAL: So you are ready to write everything. I don't have to tell you about what I felt on the court because I tried my best all the time. But is obvious that I didn't feel at my best. I had a problem during the match, in the very beginning. After that, the match was almost over. So that's what I can say.

But you know what, for me is difficult come here and speak about. In Doha I wasn't healthy. Today I have another problem. Seems like I always have problems when I lose, and I don't want to have this image, no? I prefer don't talk about that today. If you can respect that, will be a very nice thing for me. Thank you.

Q. What was the problem, though?

RAFAEL NADAL: You are listening me? I can't tell you which problem I have. First thing, because I don't know. That's my answer.

Q. The match against Cilic showed you were recovering well. Did you feel anything unusual the last couple days?

RAFAEL NADAL: I felt fantastic the last couple days. I practiced very good yesterday. I had a fantastic warmup today before the match. Only feeling that I can say was very positive. I started the second week, and when the second week started, everything was better and better for me: the health, sweat, the level of tennis. Everything was better and better.

He was obviously fine before the match. Read the entire interview PLEASE. He says "I don't know" because he's already asked the interviewer not to ask him about the injury again because it makes it look like he's using it as an excuse. THAT is why he said "I don't know"

Federer faced tons of injury issues the first of the two years nasal dominated. Like nadal said, it really isn't an excuse. Every player player plays through injuries a lot of the time.

Exactly. Injuries are injuries. Can't use them as an excuse. And no one is. Nadal has gone out of his way to make sure reporters don't start using injury as an excuse for his exit.

And as you said each player plays through injuries which makes Enigma's opinion that "great players don't have medical time outs" and crap like that sound insane.

Fed's got to be big fav now Nadal's out. Good chance for Murray to make another slam final, though Ferrer has a good chance too if he plays well.

It'll probably be the winner of the Fed/Djoko match who wins this Slam.

Excellent wumming by enigma, it has to be said. Although fanboys are the easiest species to reel in...

I also see Henin has retired again. She just didn't look herself since she came back. A mistake, IMO.

Not surprising that the absolutely rubbish Wozzy lost yet again. She's a useless number 1.

ANyway come on Kim! Hope she wins it. What a comeback it has been for her

Good start by Novak. Playing good attacking tennis. But you just know with him it's a case of when he will crack and not if.

What a service game by Novak there. Frightening. Super first serves and just hammering Federer right now. Needs to break while he's playing this well.

4-3 on Serve now. Djoko had a real chance on the last Fed service game. Reckon Djoko will get broken at 5-5 and lose 7-5, his favorite losing scoreline vs Fed

Fed almost broke, but is now serving to stay in

He does not. 5-4. Novak did his best to choke there but Fed just keeps shanking.

As I expected, Djokovic looking good to beat Federer today. It's so sad to see the great man make so many errors these days at the wrong times. His game has fallen a lot.

Yessss! Come on Novak :D

7-6 first set. Just 2 more decent sets.

But I maintain my prediction of Fed in 4.

You come across as a Nadal fan. That's why you want Novak to win?

Nah I don't want Fed not to win because I'm a Nadal fan. However after the USO final I really felt Novak deserves a Slam and I predicted he'll win it so I hope it happens :D

And plus I don't exactly love Fed or Murray. And anyway Fed has won more than enough :p Would be good to have a non Nadal/Fed winner for once.

I think it's what I said :D

Anyway 2nd set and Fed's serving first. This will be a real test of Djokovic's mental strength.

Hehe not exactly. Sure I don't like Fed much but that's not the only reason that I want Novak to win. In a Fed Murray match I'm not sure who I would support. In this match it's clear ;)

And also well a Murray Djokovic final will be far more interesting and competitive than a Murray Federer final which will be over in 2 hours.

As much as I hate to say it, but I think your overestimating Federer of today. I really don't think he has it in anymore to blow top 5 players away. Maybe he'll prove me wrong and I'd love for him to.

Djoko with the break in the 2nd set

First break point of the match it was.
