Hehe. Just went to the BBC to see the headlines :

The brilliant :
Magic Murray powers into quarters

And the ordinary headline :p
Nadal wins to set up Ferrer clash

And the even more disinterested
Clijsters through to last eight

Why do these foreigners insist on moaning all the bloody time eh? If you don't like it go and read your own countries websites you johnny kin foreigner. Rule Britannia, Britannia rules the waves.

That was much more like Fed at his best. Though typically rubbish performance by Stan as soon as he sees Fed on the other side of the court.

Djokovic has been pretty good today but he's not had to be at his best because Berdych has been shocking. If his first serve does not go in then he's absolutely useless. I have no idea how he beat Fed and Djoko with such a limited game at Wimby last year.

A bit of typical Novak meltdown there. Something with his contact lenses again? Anyway he's down 4-1 in the 2nd and struggling a bit.

Well they didn't have it on the red button so I missed it, but I guess he just swatted Wawrinka away like he normally does.

Djokovic should've been winning this match v Berdych comfortably but he's making a right pigs ear of it, still struggling to come to terms with the fact he was 15-40 on Berdychs serve in the opening game of the set and missed a routine backhand. Needs to toughen up mentally if he's going to get through and be a genuine threat to Federer.

This. That's his biggest weakness. But I think he might have some issues with his lenses as he was pointing to that even before he got broken.

Still can't see Berdych winning anything more than 1 set.

PS: And novak breaks back as we speak.

Lenses schemenses, Djoko and Murray are such talented players but they don't half whine like lil bitches about anything and everything. Its hard to believe that Nadal is of similar age to them, especially when you consider how composed and mature he comes across.

Also whats with this big screen business?

Well Nadal's been on tour for what 9 years now? Though yeah he's always been rather mature and composed but then well he's a freak and players like him and Federer don't come along too often. However Fed was not as calm and composed when he was 20-23 either. It came with age for him so maybe it'll be the same with Djoko and Murray.

Anyway Djokovic takes it in the tie breaker. Berdych really makes some awful awful errors. He threw away that set.

Novaks through thankfully, manned up and hopefully he brings it against Federer to produce a classic.

Did wr8 read todays BBC's headline about "Sublime Federer"? Was that good enough?

Yes just read that. Finally :p

I don't really have an issue with it knowing it's a British thing after all but it's just that the bias usually is a bit overboard.

Anyway big hitter got demolished by Djokovic today. You reckon he can beat Fed now? I think he'll have his typical meltdown (US Open aside) day after.

I don't think Djokovic is a choker. He's just not as good as Fed and Nadal.

On hardcourts imo he's got a better game than Nadal and a better serve as well. He's a better player (on hard courts) but it's just the mentality that's the problem. If he was as mentally strong as Nadal he would have won much more than just the 1 Slam.

Yeah Nadal is mentally strong, but I wonder how much his change of pace affects his opponents. I mean when Nadal is ahead, his serves are so fast, but watch him go 0-30 and he takes about 2mins to serve one fecking ball.
If I were playing him,I know it will piss me off. It should be about time they started calling time violations on him. Or his opponent should just walk away to compose themselves when they see that he is getting ready to finally serve to also throw him off.
The only person who was able to also delay the game like Nadal was Soderling and he won against him. He has amazing strength but that thing he does just does not make me warm to him.

Sorry but that's just bizarre. He's not the only player who is slow between points. Djokovic used to be notoriously slow as well and if a player loses his concentration and calm because of a few extra seconds of waiting then I'm sorry your not good enough to be a Slam winner.

You say Soderling used the delaying tactics and beat him? Soderling did this against Nadal in the marathon 3 days match at Wimbledon 4 years back and he lost to Nadal. He beat Nadal at Rolland Garros purely because he was better on the day and not due to him following Nadal's "cheating" methods.

And as for his long durations. Cilic was taking 27 seconds between points and Nadal was taking 31 seconds. Now ofcourse 4 seconds is a lot but the time limit is 25 seconds so BOTH players were guilty of breaking that rule.

And i remember Enigma and a couple of others going wild during Wimbledon last year because Nadal took the help of his coaching staff during a game? Well Novak did it time and again. Infact most players look at their box before deciding if they should challenge or not. Djokovic was blatantly doing it today so it's not that just Nadal.

Thats what i'm getting at. Murray was the same in both finals against Fed, just couldnt come to terms with it at all. He fancies and seems to relish playing Nadal much more even with the better record against Fed.

Yeah Murray too. He's another one who has meltdowns against Fed at the Slam finals. But he's beaten Fed many times in finals of Masters Series tournaments. I guess he just can't handle the pressure associated with a Slam final.

Murray has Nadal's number on hard courts and in Slams as well while Nadal hammers Murray at RG and Wimbledon. I think Murray could beat Fed in a Slam if he only ever played him in the semis instead of a final.

Caroline Wozniacki looked so hot yesterday. She is going to have a tough game against Li Na. Hopefully she will win.

Murray is overrated. He is not going to win the Australian Open.
No. He's definitely not overrated. I think this is as good as any a chance for him to win it.

But SHE is overrated. If not for Schiavone being exhausted after the marathon she would have beaten Wozzy today.

She is 20! She is definitely going to improve. I hope she does not pull an Ivanovic or Kournikova though. Hope she continues to play well.

World Number 1 who's never won a Slam. She's going to be another Ivanovic/Safina unless the likes of Cjisters and the Williams' stop playing altogether.

Again she is only 20. She will start winning grand slams this year hopefully. It does not matter though if she has not won a grand slam. All that matters is she is #1!

Well in womens tennis it does not really. You really think the Williams' give a dam that their 2nd nd 4th right now despite being clearly better than Wozzy? And Kim who's defeated Wozzy pretty much everytime they've met recently is still number 3 but a far superior player. Wozniacki seems to me a bit like Murray right now. Ruling the ATP's maybe but not transforming it to the Slam stage.

It seems that quite a few women players get to the top briefly when they are young and then slide all too quickly.

At least Ivanovic won the French, so she'll be able to live off that for the rest of her career.

Women tennis players should complain about just playing best of three sets. It is not fair to them, they should play best of 5 like the men.

Wasn't that the controversy that took a few years back when, I think it is at Wimbledon that both women and men are paid equally. It is not fair to the men in my opinion. I know they don't have the stamina men might have but still some of mens' first three sets are longer than the whole women's game.
