Murray takes it 6-3
So basically... whenever Nadal looks like he might lose he either retires blaming his knee, or takes the loss... and blames his knee.
Question for any people who bet on tennis. When Rafa called for the trainer and looked finished i tried to put a bet on murray to take the set 6-0. Basically i fecked up as the odds changed when i placed it but i didnt notice and i ran off to watch the rest of the match. When i came back obviously the bet wasnt placed but IF the bet was placed, for the final set to be under 6.5 games would i have won due to the fact the set was under 6.5 of got my money back since it finished with a retirement?
Nah - Set would have needed to have been played in full. It wasn't. You would have been refunded...
Anyone looking to bet on Murray to win he Australian open would be better off betting on Murray for the BBC sports personality of the year (hoping Enland does not win WC may I add - but you could hedge it there)
Also anyone thinking of backing England to win the WC - would be better backing Capello to be to knighted in the Queen's honors list at 50's
The question over Cilic is how well will he have recovered from yet another long 5 set match in the round before. As so far this tournament Cilic has had 1 4 set match and 3 5 set matches so will he be able to cope if Murray turns up like he did today and takes the game to him.
How can he recover?
Also if Murray plays like he has done how does he not win this one? Cilic is a dangerous player but Murray in this form should take him. Especially considering the freshness.
If Murray can continue to attack he'll have a good chance v Cilic, I just worry he may take him lightly and be passive.
Cilic beat Murray in the last match they played so Murray will be out to make sure he wins this one and to get to his 2nd Grand Slam final.
Hewitt lost and it was Australia Day today (well, yesterday now).
Happy days.
find me an australian who does, and i'll show you someone that needs to be (re)moved to adelaide!
the poor bloke never stood a chance!
part of me really wants murray to win... he has worked so hard to become a batter player and is playing so well...
but quite frankly im not sure if i can take the media wankfest at wimbledon if he does win
he gets that anyway but i feel his best chance is outside wimbledon anyway as the wankfest does him little good and as focused and level headed as he is it's gotta take a tole.
This is a great opportunity for him. He has the experience of the US open final so if he gets past Cilic he'll take some comfort in that. Plus his game is really looking excellent. IF he plays like this who will stop him? A top performance from Federer is the only way i see it.
