Yeah that's right, managers can wheel and deal freely in the market but if they miscalculated they bear the costs

Managers should remember that there will be available wide options in the AM round(Rivaldo/Mata/Iniesta etc) and in the striker option(Rooney/Cavani/Henry etc). Possibly in other rounds too like Seedorf in CM comes to mind as a possible RM option etc.

I am going to note everybody who has been active since the round started to keep a check on it.

EDIT: Everybody has made posts since the round started except NoPace who hasn't PM'd me anything either. Will talk to him and make sure he gets his picks down.

Yeah anto seems eager to get involved, why not let him team up with the newb and start bidding till he shows up to discuss. See no harm in it.

As for selling players, makes taking risks easier as you know you won't be stuck with the player. Usually in an "auction", once you bid on something, it is yours if no one outbids you. That's the very core of an auction.

Will go through rest of the stuff later, bit hammered and baked at the moment.
 
I've discussed that with NoPace and he isn't very keen on being in such a position. He wants to be the main manager and he has done fantasy drafts before in other football forums and has posted there for ages.

That is the reason we included him, thinking he will bring something that isn't influenced by this forum and its drafts.

If Anto wants I'll put him down as a reserve manager if someone else pulls out or goes inactive. But he has stated he doesn't want to play so we shouldn't force him too.

For me it is what I said there, basically once you bid for something in an auction, you have to pay for it unless someone submits a bigger bid. It's what makes it exciting as well, because one wrong call can screw you. So if someone is just splashing cash mindlessly, he would be left with minimum required for the rest of the team, but if he can sell and retrieve the amount he spent, it is not an auction anymore.

Every manager should be clear in his mind that he needs a minimum of 10 times the number of players he needs after the current round remaining in his budget so if at any time a manager submits a bid that violates that rule, that bid should be called invalid. For example if I have 50m left and I need 4 players, I cannot bid more than 20 on a single player, and if I bid say 25, it should be made invalid.
