For me it is what I said there, basically once you bid for something in an auction, you have to pay for it unless someone submits a bigger bid. It's what makes it exciting as well, because one wrong call can screw you. So if someone is just splashing cash mindlessly, he would be left with minimum required for the rest of the team, but if he can sell and retrieve the amount he spent, it is not an auction anymore.
Every manager should be clear in his mind that he needs a minimum of 10 times the number of players he needs after the current round remaining in his budget so if at any time a manager submits a bid that violates that rule, that bid should be called invalid. For example if I have 50m left and I need 4 players, I cannot bid more than 20 on a single player, and if I bid say 25, it should be made invalid.
