Arturo Vidal

If we're interested in him but there are genuine doubts about his knee, why not offer an incentivised contract that states if he plays x amount of games without his knee breaking down in the same way that they [Juventus] get the required amount paid in full, and if it does, the full fee is forfeit?

If they're not trying to sell us a ringer, there should be no reason for them to turn that down, and if we are buying a crock, we've at least paid a fair amount less for him than we would otherwise.

It seems to me that there's a lot of fluff and nonsense revolving around this 'deal' now. Unless we're playing a game of brinkmanship, there doesn't seem to be much reason for not going through with this and relying on what we know and our medical team as well as a well structured contract to protect ourselves.

If Vidal come here, then since Jan we would have brought.

Mata, Di Maria, Herrara, Shaw, Vidal.

That's unbelievable class all around. Still skeptical of Vidal coming but feel if it has to happen it is going to happen on the last day like the Berbatov one.

You forgot Rojo :(

This will go down to the absolute wire, for the better or worst.

You reckon? All links seem seem tenuous at best really, no sign of any bid, and even if there was it seems Juve would reject it.

The hope I retain is that we still have Hernandez a player they maybe want, I'm sure we must have had a few offers for him by now, so we're either wanting to keep him, or hoping he can be tied into this deal.

We wasted all this energy in the wrong thread! Unless Woodward can get another £40m from the Glazer bank for one last assault to deliver what muppets never dreamt was even possible in one transfer window.

As a grown man, am astonished how this transfer malarkey has had me gripped with so many swinging emotions since the end of the World Cup.

Deliver Vidal and this becomes one of the seminal periods of our clubs history I will always remember. And that's before we even see how all these new toys work together. No matter how we do this season, it's so much fun supporting our team!

Exactly! :D

I think it's clear to see that we desperately require an experienced centre half in. I don't think Vidal will cure just how poor our defence is at the moment

Is there any way we can ensure that nobody connected to Juventus ever finds out anything about tonight's match? Vidal himself being the most important.
You are kidding. The Pope was seen laughing at that performance

If we go to Juventus offering Hernandez as part payment, surely after tonight we will get laughed out of Turin.

Can't be too harsh the guy's confidence is shot, a bit of love, and some decent service he'll be banging them in again...... just not for us!

I know you're joking but clubs and people who work in the game are not as fickle as your average football fan, if they wanted Hernandez then they will still want him regardless of tonights game.

I'm most worried about Vidal. If you were him, do you think you could make yourself put pen to paper, if you'd just seen that?!

People overreact. You will never see that team in the PL and even Di Maria said: "van Gaal is a top manager and he wants to be part of the project bringing us back to the top."
If he wanted to join us before, he will still want it now.

We are still a much bigger club than Juve and he will probably be getting his wage doubled at least, so yeah i could.

I doubt if he even knows the League cup exists. They only have one domestic cup in Italy.

No way would he base his decision on it.

Suppose not, he did show really good promise his first season and a half, he's done a bit of a Macheda since then though.
Clearly it is just a confidence issue but that's running through the whole squad like a virus, it looks like he will be a casualty of the rebuild but it's required, there are more deserving of being offloaded but Hernandez was one of the few who looked good in the shop window... Until tonight :(

For me he's a finisher and an outstanding one at that, if he didn't have that ability he would be a very limited player, average touch, can't beat anyone, poor hold up play, very poor passer, etc, but like I say he is a finisher and someone will pay for that, maybe just not as much as we'd have liked.

Hopefully Juve will be interested but he has been shown up for his lack of ability outside the six yard box since our wingers footballing ability retired just before Sir Alex.
He would actually be a great signing for the scousers if truth be known, his pace, movement and ability to create havoc would actually go some way to filling the void left by Suarez.

feck it, I'm sucked in now. Imagine a front 6: Herrera, Vidal, Di Maria, Mata, Rooney and RVP. We could win the league this year.

You are only 1 line away from giving us a front 11.

He wouldn't leave a guaranteed CL spot for a team getting smashed by MK Dons especially after we screwed around with our interest in him all summer. Move along.

Ogden says we are going to try and get him in the coming days.
