They have very different roles. Vidal always covers a lot of ground and I think it goes unnoticed.whenever I've watched Juventus, Pogba looks the most impressive of the two.

You could argue that scoring goals for Juve in Italy is easier than for Toure in the Prem. Toure is a complete powerhouse with unbelievable attacking prowess, Vidal doesn't get near to that.Well judging from last season, Vidal has 18 goals in 46 games and Yaya has 24 in 49. They are not that much apart.
Last season:Yaya 0,277 goals/game
Vidal 0,345 goals/game
Make of it what you want..
Last season Yaya got shitload of goals. 24 in 49 games but previous to that he had around 9-10 each season in 50 odd games. Toure's stats show 51 goals for City in 184 games. Vidal has 38 in 110 odd games for Juventus

So the choice between using stats for one season or using stats over a more prolonged period. I think what I'll make of that is that the stats provided by him hold more weight.Last season:
yaya - 0.489 goals/game
Vidal - 0.391 goals/game
Make of it what you want.
When you watch some of the goals you'll agree with me, not just because of the Serie A, but also because of the way they dominated it last season, no comparison for it. He also scored quite a few in the Champions League, that second game against Copenhagen was unreal.Really? The famously wide-open, attacking Serie A vs the famously cagey, defensive Premier League?
Allegri on Vidal.
"I have spoken with Vidal, mainly about his physical condition," Allegri said.
"Things went well. It would be great if he were to stay at Juventus.
Robbery by who? Juventus?£37 million for Vidal, robbery
Vidal is not with that much of a free role in Juve's games. His all round game covers a lot of pitch. He may find himself in the box quite often but 30 secs after that he can be in his own box. As I said his engine is maybe his biggest asset. You could argue that scoring goals for Juve in Italy is easier than for Toure in the Prem. Surely you read the whole discussion and figured out that we compared their attacking abilities and not their overall strength as a CM?Surely you don't gauge a central midfielder's effectiveness on how many goals he scores anyway?

To be fair I think they all can play together. A midfield trio of Herrera/Vidal/Yaya looks complete to me with no weaknesses.Like I said, overall it's very hard to say who's better, Vidal would clearly be the better partner for Herrera.
Even if he was playing in a more advanced role he wouldn't be the powerhouse Yaya is when going forward. He adds other things to the game though, arguably more important things for a CM. Couldn't imagine a better fit for us.Vidal is not with that much of a free role in Juve's games. His all round game covers a lot of pitch. He has also outscored Yaya in Europe.
In that system Vidal would've to do most of the defensive duties which would restrict him too much.To be fair I think they all can play together. A midfield trio of Herrera/Vidal/Yaya looks complete to me with no weaknesses.

Noone indicated that goals are all that matters for a player. Just discussing their offensive capabilities.See the sensible reply to my post, after your shite one.
Agreed. He's not like Yaya when it comes to ball in his feet and taking over players. It's his positional sense and anticipation in the box that most get him the goals he scores. And he's really the key to our midfield if we can buy him.Even if he was playing in a more advanced role he wouldn't be the powerhouse Yaya is when going forward. He adds other things to the game though, arguably more important things for a CM. Couldn't imagine a better fit for us.
Yes of course with Herrera helping with pressing and distribution and Yaya in advanced role. But we have Mata, so with the three of them will be sorted for the next 5 years. In that system Vidal would've to do most of the defensive duties which would restrict him too much.
I am talking about City and Juve. But that was last season's stats. Yaya was unreal.Thought we were talking about for City and Juventus?
51 goals in 184 games for Yaya with City is never close to a goal every other game.. Or does it???

I'm pretty sure he's saying that he's cheap for that price.eh?
An international with over 50 caps, the star player of a team that consists of Pogba and Pirlo. 27 entering his peak, has a long term contract at the best team in Italy who have won three leagues, two cups in the last three years and guarantee CL football each year.
They don't need to sell and even if Vidal asks to leave that does not mean they have let him go for cheap.
We paid 37m for Mata who was surplus to requirements and if Eddy big balls says we can break the world transfer record if we wanted then surely paying about 43% of that should be easy!
That is cheap? When did I say it wasn't?
You weren't sure at #19735.That is cheap? When did I say it wasn't?
I'm pretty sure he's saying that he's cheap for that price.
It was a question to him, it did not reflect my opinion. I never claimed that price is outrageous. Would actually be a very good fee for a player like Vidal, almost a steal even. Probably one of the best midfielders in the world at the moment, on the same level as Modric and Yaya. You weren't sure at #19735.
Where exactly is this coming from? Seems too good to be true.Allegri on Vidal.

Meant it'd be a bargain for us.
Anyone but Maggie will do thanks. Let's not get all political in here. Will Maggie do - or do you need Tony Blair ?
If this happens I'd love to see the anti muppets who were telling us "Was never one" "lock this thread" "Forget about it".
So... Is this happening or will there be a mass muppet suicide?
I wouldn't put money on it happening. Are you a Tottenham fan out of curiosity?So... Is this happening or will there be a mass muppet suicide?
Its madness that £37 is considered a bargain for anyone. Thats 37 Cantona's . Fellaini has a lot to answer for
