I see 'preparing a bid' has become this summer's equally overused '£25m bid'.
Preparing the bid was the story of last season as well. Amazing how we managed to prepare Fellini bid until it was 11pm on the final day of the transfer window. Fellaini.

Yep, because we'll sign him in the next 7 days and the thread will get closed.

Yea we'll have signed him long before that...

Why it is so quiet the last two days. I was expecting strong indications if this is happening or not by now. He is back in Italy, his agent speak with Juventus for the last three days (or not) and nobody are have any good info.

Is it possible that United told Juve and Vidal's agent to not talk about transfer and things are moving forward?

That's exactly what has happened. So close to a done dealio now. So close.

Hey muppets, I have a question. Why are we waiting for him to hand in a transfer request? Why don’t we do it like everybody else, just negotiate with Juve and make them offer they can’t refuse? I’ve heard money is not an issue for us this summer.

Strange that if indeed we are to make a bid, why have we waited this long? The team are in the US on pre-season, getting sharp, learning the boss' philosiphy etc. Vidal will be way behind them.

Why would they want to do that? Surely leaking details of a bid or discussions would only drive the price up for them. I don't see any benefit to Juventus in keeping any deal quiet at all.

Do people actually still believe that we are going to sign him? It'd have been done long ago if it were ever happening, why would we hold up until August?
If I was a united fan, I wouldn't hold my breath on this happening.

It's because we got the guy from the Wicker Man in charge instead of the Godfather. We didn't want to pay Brando's agent sadly, he asked for a ridiculous fee :(

A lot of upheaval at Juventus in recent weeks with Conte's departure. If Vidal left at the same time there would be riots in Turin.

That's just an excuse. When your manager goes and you know you are going to lose one of your best players, would you rather give the new man no money and then sell the play at the end of the window or cash in now and let him spend the fee?

Arturo is a slave. Give the man some Liberty.

I wish we played that card in the media by now, which we would have if British media were not as messy as they are.

Seriously, something has to be changed one day about transfer windows. If it were for me, it would be for one month and one month only in the summer: July.

As if the date of receiving the money would change anything. When they know they will cash in on him they can spend the money beforehand as well. Which is what Juventus are doing right now anyway.

Don't worry, Moratti is gonna wake up with a horses head in his bed after a visit from Woody.

They've already spent a Vidal sized chunk of money on new players. I'm not saying he will sign but it does look like something may already be in progress.

Plenty of reasons. Lack of interest from other clubs for driving up the price, not to upset their fans, we are prepared to sugar the deal if they remain quiet, deal in closing stages and just little things to be sorted.

"Vidal said he wants to stay" Is the headline.

The CM talked with the club director, Giuseppe Marotta, who argued that the Chilean will not be transferred.

CBA to do the rest.

That's the most important bit though, he spoke with Marotta and Marotta says he will not be transferred. So basically it sounds like Vidal went to Marotta to discuss a transfer - basically asking to leave.

LIKE DONKEY KONG BABY.

When Woody finds the perfect font for this bid and dazzles the Juve bigwigs, with the graphic design he's been working on, you won't be laughing at him.

I fully expect the proposal to be binded with a montage of images from four corners of the globe. This deal has done more miles than the Olympic torch.

Evra presentation at 2pm UK time so I guess we'll here more denials from Marotta and Allegri....

I hope Evra says during interview that Manchester United is the biggest club in the world and Vidal will be lucky to play there.

I hear he is carving the bid into a 1000 foot cliffface of granite and mining for rare precious stones for the caligraphy. Even though the only text is: 'Vidal, 48mil, Capisce?' it may take him a while
