Arturo Vidal

From what we have heard from LvG, defence and wingbacks are more of a concern to us the CM.
But maybe LvG considers Vidal as too good not to go for. I hope so at least.

What a load of nonsense.

He will relish the opportunity of joining the biggest club in the world at the start of another exciting cycle. We're brimming with quality already, his addition would see us with 5 world class players in the first team with a world class manager, a much better position to win the Champions League than with Juve in the next 3 years.

We're not without weaknesses but that won't be for long for whatever reason Van Gaal won't let it stay that way. They will be addressed.

Even if we are interested and they don't want to sell, they're still not obliged to give him a bigger deal so the idea that this is all for a bigger contract is wide of the mark IMO.
Oh I agree totally. I never see the reasoning behind "it's all for a new deal". You can't fake interest, and even if there is real interest, with 3 years at least on his deal (taking him up until he's 30) Juve have the upper hand.

I see the gif is removed. @JaapStam1986 please don't post things like that because it made me sick and i mean really sick. I am not good with this shit.

Ontopic i expect some movement today. We must sign him before their tour which means by the end off the week.

Don't think i saw the second one, by the sounds of it i don't want to either

I take full responsibility if Vidal gets sight of it and doesn't come because of my unforgiving behavior. I know he's a beast an all but even he would have nightmares after seeing that. On the plus side, we're a few comments nearer to beating the Berba thread! :smirk:

Funny how the trail always goes cold on this the day after a game, when twitter/the media have quotes from the boss and match reports to occupy their time.

I've said it a few times, I really hope we sign Vidal, he's a top top player, but the British press that are closest to Utd just aren't going with it, which seems a little strange in my opinion.

Let's keep our fingers crossed and see what happens.

They kind of are though. They're terrified of being made to look daft.

They've been saying all along "we have been briefed that United have not made any contact with Juventus regarding Vidal" and have been very clear that that is what they have been told and it's up to us whether we believe United are telling the truth.

Ogden has since expanded on that and said that all the club have said is that they have not had direct contact with Juventus. It doesn't mean we haven't had discussions with the player and it doesn't mean we haven't got plans to make an offer to Juve, it just means that we haven't yet.

This is such a huge transfer if true, one of the worlds best midfielder potentially coming to one of the worlds biggest clubs, Utd are huge news at the moment. There is so much noise coming out of Italy and Chile, but no one is biting here in the Uk.

I know the Journo's get briefed by the club, but they have plenty of other sources, and it not like there isn't any leads to follow elsewhere, but not one of them is prepared to go out on a limb, but they are all quite happy to link us with half of Europe, strange IMO.

I fully expect us to make a blockbuster signing, and I really hope it is Vidal.

I think the key word is "direct". It points to the fact that we've made indirect contact, as in, have gone through the agent, ala Mata.
