Arturo Vidal

Im pretty sure by now the board realizes the fans aren't happy just because we are "IN" for a player. They need to sign a God damn player who will improve us. And its not like Juventus is asking for £75m. They want to sell. They have to sell to improve their finances. Thats why they haven't squashed the deal yet. I don't care if we don't sign anymore players or defenders. Just throw the money at Juventus around £40m for Vidal if that is what it takes and sign him FFS.

I just get weary with us when we are in for the real top level players (and you can't blame me with the amount we have missed out on in recent years).
Plus if Vidal is as good as he supposedly is (and we all know he is), why aren't more big teams in for him?, especially when he will only cost about £40mil which is almost daylight robbery for a player as good as him in todays market.

I know it won't happen. We'll end up some crock of shit midfielder.

The law of averages means we must be close to finally getting one of these kind of transfers with the amount we have missed out on in recent years?, maybe now is that time.

Because no else needs him as much as we do right now. Chelsea are set with Matic, Ramires, Fabregas. City have Toure, Fernandinho and Garcia. Chelsea and City also have to worry about FFP (thank God for that!). Arsenal aren't going to spend another £40m this window. Bayern are stocked and so are Barcelona and Madrid. Who else is left?

Its at the point now where I'd be happy with a point blank Vidal refusal. I just want this to be clear and 100% over one way or another.

Be happy now, as its not going to happen. This entire thing was ginned up by tweeters and tabloids talking nonsense.

I think Louis Van Gaal started all of this during the World Cup. Firstly he said he tried to sign Vidal for Bayern and then he complimented Vidal and Sanchez after their game against Chile even though Vidal didn't even play.

It'll be good to either find out if this transfer is going to happen once and for all. It's getting a bit tedious now.

I know what you're saying but i don't totally buy that reasoning.
Its like if something bad happened between Barca and Messi and Barca just wanted rid of hilm for a cut price say £40mil and we said we don't need Messi because we already have Mata and Kagawa in his position. You know what i mean?

Possibly. Its important to recognize that these fairy tales only take flight because people actively participate in threads like this, which are largely based on sketchy speculation from twitter, tabloids, and even the likes of Mitten, Ducker, Jackson, and Ogden, who despite having reputations as good journalists, are also feeding into it by tweeting pure speculation.

Hopefully it's put to bed tomorrow so everyone can start arguing about us signing de Jong. Or nobody.

I have noticed Raoul since i was promoted that you seem quite negative towards transfer rumors, do you just like to keep super realistic and not get caught up in all the muppetry?.

We are looking at you @Pexbo

I'm probably in a minority but I think he would be a good signing.
Problem is he is not a marquee signing everybody wants...

I think another part of the problem with De Jong is the City thing, if he's not good enough for them why is he good enough for us. I'm sure some fans will be looking at it from that angle, plus there is the constant shite we would get off City fans if we got him.

Who cares, if it will work out and LVG will implement him in the system I dont.
I for one dont care what City fans say or think.

To me, this potential signing feels a bit like a litmus test for Ed's exceptionally big mouth. Vidal is exactly what we need, Louis rates him and both Juve and the man himself seem to wanna play ball. It will be expensive, though, but if we are the force in the market which Woody claims we are, surely that won't stop us. I'm a fan of Andy Mitten's but I don't buy for a second that LvG doesn't want Vidal, a player he by his own admission "always wanted to buy." If we don't get him it's far more likely to be down to the deal being too rich for our blood and Woody being full of it.

I agree. The amount he goes on about how much money we have, how we can make record signings and stop the best players going to Spain....surely he has to back this up with a big signing.

I just hope it's not Cavani (PSG will sell to fund Di Maria)

PSG should just exchange Cavani with Di Maria and be done with all this bullshit.

Surely Woodward would not be stupid enough to say what he did and talk so bullish and then go on and not buy a top player?, especially after what happened last year.

Even then it will be ''Who cares whether Vidal refused us...he's hardly going to say he is joining us until it's all done and dusted..arturON''

I doubt we will hear anything tomorrow, even if he meets up with the squad and has a meeting with the manager I doubt word will get out until later in the week.

Well who is to stay that top player is Vidal though? Rumors are we are closing in on Di Maria and Cavani is also always in the news.

Again, there is zero chance of this. Van Gaal has spent his last three interviews talking about how we have too many strikers. No relevance to your point. Just saying.

Yeah, he's meeting with his agent too, so only if we have a bid already prepared maybe something can happen tomorrow, but I doubt it will happen that fast. Vidal meets agent he says look Vidal United is prepared to bid for you Arturo says ok, agent says to Juve United will give 50 mil., Juve say all right and that's that..

Hm.. Maybe I should go to bed.. :D

Don't you think there is more to it than that though? The 2 main reasons I think there's something in this are
1. Vidal saying he doesn't know if he'll be at Juventus next season and confirming interest from us and Real.
2. Conte leaving Juve 2 days into their pre season, citing a lack of energy as the reason. They had just lost out on Sanchez a week or two before leaving.

It's not entirely self-licking imo!

This thread is so up and down. There's so many pro's and con's in the saga. It's a head feck.
