Vidal looks like the kind of guy that would have appeared in the enemy football team in the Hurricanes cartoon.

This can be done with mega money. Main problem is that we have never done a deal of this size before.

You're talking a minimum £60m for him. Absolute minimum... and £250k pw.

We're just not that sort d club, unfortunately.

Watch Real do it though.

We dropped 40 million on Mata like it was nothing.

I don't think money is a problem, I just can't see him choosing us. If he wants to leave, there will be a lot of clubs after him and Barca and Real for sure too. This season or next season he could make his last big move and it could be his last chance to win the CL, so he will choose a club who is able to do that at the moment and unfortunately we are not. I think we have a better chance for younger players or players who are not starters at the moment. We should try everything, but It would be a huge (positive) shock for me If he comes to us ;)

I'd be 100% certain that Vidal has already agreed to join Madrid once Madrid find someone willing to buy Khedira from them for the amount they want for him

As an earlier poster said...people that keep mentioning Pogba and Vidal as players we will end up with this summer need to be slapped in the face with a wet fish

Luis Gustavo would be a decent option as a defensive midfielder and would be a lot more realistic

No not atm, but before he went to Juve, Juve is scouting very good while we are totally not for instance.

The situation was weird, he was supposed to sign for Bayern and no one can fight with Bayern for a player playing in Bundesliga except the Real Madrid. But Leverkusen refused to do business with them and "sent" him to Juventus.
I wouldn't be surprised that all the other clubs have been surprised by the that, he was extremely good at the time.

Bayern, Barca or Real Madrid are the only clubs he will go to if he leaves Italy. He will want to go to a CL winning team if he leaves and i dont think he would even look at any clubs in England because the culture in England wont suit him.

I am a juve fan and have watched him for the last 3 seasons, he is a fantastic player and is definitely the best box to box midfielder in the world. No midfielder right now can offer what he does in defence and attack he has everything in his locker even good vision for a pass.

Pogba and Vidal wont leave together i think the Juve directors will want to keep both but if a crazy offer comes in and the player expresses to leave one will probably be sold then.

Madrid will find a club to buy Benzema for 35-40M then turn around and buy Vidal for 60M.
Like how they sold Ozil to Arsenal for 40M then got Bale for 80M.

They do fantastic business over there.

EDIT: We apparently made a 100m+ offer for Bale last year, why would we not bid 60M on Vidal?

Keep in mind £70 million has already been spent on Mata and Fellaini.

I am of the impression that the £70 million would be independent of the £100M+ transfer fund that we apparently have.
There is a lot a manager like LVG can do with that sort of money.

Bale grew up in Britain and might have actually been interested in coming here.

It's very difficult to imagine Vidal choosing Manchester over Madrid with their Mediterranean climate and Spanish is his first language.

It was hard to envision Falcao at Monaco, Cavani and Ibra at PSG but those world class players joined those less-than-world-class Clubs.
If we pay their transfer fee and give their agents what they ask for there is no reason we cannot be buying World Class players of that calibre.

The only question is are we prepared to show such initiative?
Woodward has certainly been talking the talk for the last year....this summer will show all of us if he can actually walk the walk.

Vidal is a world class player but he's also world class at hacking others. He'll get a red in the next game if he continues to play like this.

He hasn't got a red card at Juve in 3 years since he has been there, he's not that type of player.

I'm not comparing size of the clubs, of course we're bigger than the likes of Monaco.

I was talking about players wanting to live in Manchester or Madrid. I doubt very many would choose Manchester over Monaco either for that matter, especially with the tax incentives over there.

Type of player that everyone loves really. His work rate is nothing short of incredible, he didn't look like a player who'd been running around like a man possessed for 70 minutes before he came off. Completely selfless player too.

I thought it was a matter of time until he got sent off last night but he actually gauged it to perfection.
Some hard tackles in the first half let the desired players know he was there and had them looking over their shoulders for the rest of the game. When he was on a yellow and had a few more fouls to his name he eased off.

His coach at Leverkusen (Heynckes) move to Bayern and of course wanted to take Vidal with him. Vidal had 1 year left on his contract, so Bayern set it up all to sign him for free the next season. They offered big money to Vidal, but leverkusen was the big looser if this happened. On account of this situation, Vidal who were not gonna sign a new contract with them (he was ready to move to a bigger club and a new contract would have raised his price way too much), agreed to move that summer (instead of going for free to Bayern the next one) so Leverkusen, the club that took him to Europe could make some money out of him. That's class. (in the end, they paid 6M euro for 70% of his card, and sold him to Juve for 10M euro (this move is more likely to be managed by Vidal and his agent... doubt Leverkusen had something to do with it, but signed the proposition. And that's probably why no other club make crazy bid for him)

just like in the past, i doubt that if Vidal moves, gonna be for the money. So hopefully he has some hidden motive that could bring him to England.

Pretty much how I saw it, and if they end up playing Brazil, I'm certain he won't get the chance to let all desired players "know he's there". He'll be out before all of them get the message.

I feel that we can offer way more prestige, fame, and a chance of winning actual trophies than Monaco or PSG.
If we match or come close to the packages they offer we can have a shot at the best players....its really up to Woodward at this point isn't it?

LVG gives him a list of names and alternatives and the onus is on him to make it happen. I have very little faith in Woodward but having LVG balances that out for me.

Its true. Another ref less permissive could have sent him off. 3 straight fouls after the yellow card before the 1st half ended. I was crying for him to be replaced by Gutierrez. But he controlled himself in the second half luckily.

(doubt he will have to work that hard with any other rival this WC, bar Brazil, so i think he passed the test)

Wow, this again?

There is no way on Earth we are signing this guy. Not a single chance in hell. I'd back a snowflake to run a marathon in hell over us signing Vidal.

And you know this from your armchair which is located where?

Manchester is a cosmopolitan city, it offers just as much as Madrid even if the climate is not the same.

Ronaldo didn't seem to think so..

Anyway I do like Manchester but I don't see Vidal choosing it ahead of Madrid.
Sure, he'll say anything in Madrid. But if I was a player, it'd take more than the weather to get me to move to a new country and city.

Like the history and size of the club, and how good they are? There's nothing we can offer Vidal that Madrid couldn't better at this moment. Pretty much only them and Barca can say that worldwide. Also they also speak spanish there like in Chile. If Madrid goes for him, and Juve sell him, nobody else has a chance IMO unless he has a real dislike for Madrid.

On a serious issue, if we went in with a strong bid. 50 million rising to 60 after 50 million gets rejected, offer Vidal same wages as Rooney, with an increase if we get into CL can anybody see him signing ?

call me too optimistic but if we actually did that I can see him signing.
(obviously if we have the balls to offer that kind of money in the first place)

We can offer 60M but it won't stop Madrid bidding more and him ending up in Spain.

Well I think we would all take that scenario right now over the likelihood of us not bidding and Real snapping him up for 45m EUR.........

How many times have you seen him play, or have you seen few clips and decided he's like this? He hardly gets a red card in Juve.
