That doesn't look good alright. Maybe the full quote was "I'll speak to Allegri on Monday, I'm not going to Manchester... until Tuesday"
It was fun while it lasted, looks unlikely there'll be a marquee signing or even a midfield signing.
Going by previous summers its a perfectly logical conclusion.Good logical leap there.
But but I thought Ogden, Ducker and the rest of the guys working on the Manchester patch were all unreliable and instead Chilean sources held more weight.
I agree with everything in your post but the fact we were getting a pasting from the likes of Liverpool, City etc last year was due to us having no threat going forward (having stats like one shot on target in 90 mins at Old Trafford said it all) add a combination of two midfielders who could barely pass, defend, assist or score and some calamitous defending, shocking managerial decisions - is why we finished a deserved 7th.
However Vidal is defensively sound and Herrera likes to get stuck in although a bit too Scholes like with his tackles.
I think they would both be more than good enough against the weaker teams defensively especially in front of a back three but yes we would be more at risk against stronger opposition especially on the counter attack. On the flip side our general ability and command of the ball would be so much greater and we would create chances for fun. I don't rate City, Chelsea or Liverpool's defense as rock solid they also have flaws, it was their collective ability going forward and keeping possession with an end product that made them title challenges and winners. We were crap all over the park except for De Gea.
I have only really watched two of the four you mention and I do like Schneiderlin a lot but if indeed we are not in for Vidal and Van Gaal is looking for more of a disciplined midfielder than I would rather we go all out for Strootman who could be back playing by October.
There are about 20 versions of that 'quote' floating around, chill.
So it's over. Close the thread. Quite funny for all the people so convinced this was happening when there was only nonsense paper talk feeding them info.
We don't sign players like this.
You haven't got a clue we were in for him. And ever if we were, players of that caliber don't sign for us. We spend big buying from premier league clubs, but we don't buy world class talent from other leagues. To be fair, it wasn't nonsense. We were clearly in for him. Just seems the move broke down at some point. All that talk of his knee might have made us a bit nervous.
Like the non-deluded have said from day 1. Vidal will go to either real or bayern. Even if us 3 had bids accepted, we'd no doubt be last choice for him. This has Madrid written all over it.

Will take more than £50 million for Juve to sell. Best player in his position in the world they dont come cheap. So Ducker and Ogden were right, we're not interested in Vidal. Blind, Vermaelen, de Vrij and Hummels it is and Hummels has like a 1% chance of happening. Only way we'll sign him is if we offer something crazy like £50m.
very true but I thought with Woody wanting to make a statement of intent and LVG admiring Vidal there was hope of it being completed. I still wont give up hope until Monday and Vidal states exactly what he wants. Vidal could have said that hes staying at Juve and any transfer is out of the question. His comments have mis-translated in my opinion and hes telling Manchester not to go anywhere else until then. You haven't got a clue we were in for him. And ever if we were, players of that caliber don't sign for us. We spend big buying from premier league clubs, but we don't buy world class talent from other leagues.
keep deluding yourself mate. Sure, we could have had Vidal if we wanted him, just like Thiago, Cesc, Hazard........Good grief, I've told you before, Vidal himself confirmed it. Just like he's now confirmed that he's not coming to us, most likely because we've abandoned the chase.
But but I thought Ogden, Ducker and the rest of the guys working on the Manchester patch were all unreliable and instead Chilean sources held more weight.
Moyes didnt turn down Fabregas it was the other way round and Thiago was never gonna join us once Pep got involved.Game over. Pfffft what an utter shame. We were in for Kroos LVG said no, Moyes turned down Thiago, Fabregas.
I wonder why he wasn't interested in coming.
