Arturo Vidal

Although we don't "need" Fabregas he would be a vast improvement on what we have. Someone like Vidal would be a dream but maybe far fetched. Obviously a lot will depend if they make a huge pursuit for Aguero or Suarez. I doubt they would spend 80 million plus on either of those and then the huge sum Vidal would cost, although with Madrid you never know....
It'd be like signing Kaka for 60m and then buying Ronaldo for 80m. Not even Real are that crazy.

Between Rakitic, Koke, Fabregas, Xavi (though he'S old he could still be useful), Vidal and Strootman something's gotta give. They can't all be joining another club or staying put. Right?

Even if they did, that still leaves Herrera, Carvalho, Parejo, Kovacic etc. It's certainly not difficult to improve our current midfield options.

Watch Madrid buy him for 70 odd million Euros and him prove to be worth every penny.

some players are just worth it at any price. This guy at €50-60m is worth every penny. I always thought Bayern Munich paying €40M for Javi Martinez was a steal.

FLORENTINO PÉREZ'S CONFIDANT IN ITALY SPEAKS OUT

Bronzetti: "Real Madrid aren't interested in Pogba or Vidal"

Real Madrid won't be getting involved in the bidding war for Juventus duoPaul PogbaandArturo Vidal, who have attracted admiring glances from several European giants, according to Ernesto Bronzetti, Florentino Pérez's trusted agent in Italy.

Bronzetti told 'Tuttosport' that Real Madrid "aren't interested in Pogba or Vidal", despite the rumours linking the pair with 'Los Blancos'. Coach Carlo Ancelotti is known to be a particularly big fan of box-to-box midfielder Vidal and Juventus's sporting director, Giuseppe Marotta, previously acknowledged that Real had "shown interest" in the Chilean, "but haven't submitted any firm offers".

Meanwhile, the main advocate of bringing Pogba to the Bernabéu is none other than Zinedine Zidane. However, his enormous price tag - he would command a fee of at least €60 million - coupled with competition from other clubs like PSG (whom he is widely expected to join) have caused the Real board to go off the idea of signing the Frenchman.

No qualms with him for around £40m but anything more costly then a big no from me.

Why? No single player in world football would improve us more imo and he should easily have another 5-6 seasons left in him. I'd add another 10 mill to your upper limit.

Considering the rather public chase for Saurez Id seriously doubt that they would stump up 60-80m on Saurez then dump another 40-60 on Vidal, Madrid are crazy, they arent wreckless.

They'll just sell Benzema for ~£40m and it'll be business as normal. Last year it was Illaramendi, Isco and Bale for £125m and Ozil out for £42m so buying those two and letting Benzema go would be roughly the same net spend

Give them all the money for Vidal. He should be the most expensive player in our history and would be worth it, for me he is the best all round midifielder in the world. This transfer would never ever happen because hes happy winning trophies at Juventus and guaranteed CL football. Its the ultimate muppet dream though.

Why would Juventus want Morata, especially if they're going to change to a 4-3-3, with, I assume, one striker? They've already got Tevez, Llorente, Vucinic and Quagliarella.

Llorente will be probably be sold

They'd never spend 160m on 2 players... oh wait, they already did that 5 years ago...

I wouldn't like to try and defend against Di Maria, Bale, Ronaldo and Suarez!

That is a scary quartet!

EDIT: And if you do end up defending successfully against them, there is the added fear of getting rabies from a Suarez bite! :p

One thing's certain. If Madrid want Suarez they'll get him, no two ways about it. They're not a club that messes around. His 80 million € buyout clause isn't even that prohibitive considering they spent more than that on an inferior player in Bale. As mentioned before - the sale of Benzema, Khedira, Casemiro to desperate clubs like Arsenal or Spurs could free up 50 million. Added to their CL championship money, La Decima sponsorships and staggering 520 million € pa revenue, they'll have no problem in breaching the 250 million € barrier for incoming transfers. They could even break the world transfer record 3 times on 3 different players and still comply with FFP if Fiorentino is so inclined. It's a terrifying thought really. :(

I wouldn't rule out Di Maria moving, somehow. I know he's been excellent for them and is probably worth north of £40m easily but when it comes to Real Madrid any logic goes out the window.

Vucinic is pretty old too and I cannot imagine them keeping Quagliarella for much longer, he'll want first team football at a team he's good enough for at one point. Another forward is definitely a possibility although I think they have secured Osvaldo on a permanent move.

So is this Real Madrid saving face like we have supposedly done with Kroos and Fabregas?

If I had the power to bring just 1 player at United then that would be Vidal. He's hardworking, a leader, he's good with the ball and add steel and commitment to the side. Partner him with Strootman and we've got the midfield and forward line needed to compete with the likes of Bayern.

why are you angry? No one could replace Paul Scholes back then remember? We simply had to allow Pogba to move on and get first team games elsewhere as we had too much talent in CM to allow him to get those games at OT.

You honestly think they would entertain a derisory offer like £40m?

£50-60m is a fair price in 2014. Did you miss David Luiz for between £40-50m? Fellaini at £27.5m? etc etc

You can't include the freak incident... :nervous:

The world has went mad when will it end but I see your point.

We've briefed the less that we're "not interested" in Fabregas and Kroos so this one is surely ON?

I can't believe that we kidded ourselves into thinking that we'd actually get our act together and sign a top class CM. I doubt we're even interested in this guy either.

If he leaves Juve i can only see him going to 2-3 clubs that being, Madrid, Barca and Bayern. He is at the level that if he leaves Juve he will want to go to a team that can win the CL. He speaks Spanish and German so either of those clubs would be ideal for him. Could not see him coming to England.

He said he is really happy at Juve so i think he would need to force a move out if he wanted to go because the club dont want to sell as he is the best Holding midfielder in the world.

Just wish we'd throw a 70m Euro bid at this guy. That might - might - make Juve think.

£200k pw or so and he may be interested too.
